- How to clean a dirty or clogged Coleman Q99 generator or repack and rebuild one, if necessary.
I've been asked why, when putting the loop back into the generator, I didn't just mark the centre and bend it around the socket straight away. Well, I've tried that twice and both times the tube immediately started to flatten. I've found that one needs to get the loop started by hand and only once it's been started, can you wrap it around the socket without flattening the tube. - Jak na to + styl
Bought an old crusty lamp. Followed your video got it running great. Had a hell of time getting the old pack out!!!
This was really impresive! I would have never thought that could be done! Thank You
Great tutorial but mine snapped in half trying to straighten it out, I don’t think I will try that again. Next one I used my compressor (with mask) to blow the packing out after heating/quenching and soaking. It worked and protected the loop.
Thanks for sharing this video mate, you knowledge is fantastic. I have a coleman quicklite table lamp, and, although restored cosmetically, I feel that I do need to make up a new Q99 burner.
I just tried it and it works Great. Thank you for the Great Video.
Good job, I learned something new today
Excellent video, learned allot Thank You
Great video, thx for sharing your knowledge bro!
Excellent video! hope I need it one day.
Beautiful lamp.
Great informative video
Great video!!
That's freaking awesome! Another wonderful video! Now do an R-55😂😂
Thanks Bill, that was helpful. Would you have any idea where to find a glass globe for my CQ Canada table lamp?
They're hard to find in the wild. Lehman's might be the best source for reproductions.

Awesome video! I wonder if this can be done on a milspec
Probably not. Milspec generators are aluminum and the packing is different.
cool--but i dont think im gonna straighten my q99---ill use a piece of weld wire and just try 2 push it out with it
Straightening is a last resort. If the carbon buildup isn't too bad, heating, quenching, and blowing water through will often get them working again.
