  • I have probably removed half a dozen useless alarm systems from Foxbodies in 2021 alone. I wanted to show you guys how easy it can be to get rid of useless key fobs and unwanted/random alarm sirens cluttering up your engine bay!

Thank you for the detailed info on alarm removal. It motivated me to go in and remove the starter disable relay from the vintage 90’s alarm on my car. Now it can’t leave me stranded somewhere. I’ve cleaned up the old wiring and retained the system for the remote door lock/unlocking and the trunk release. Thanks again!

Great content Chris, I have a addiction to the obs ford trucks 92-97 the wiring for those alarms are mainly in the passenger side kick panel, they don't usually have any mercury switches, by the time I get them the alarms are acting up and causing some type of problem (going off randomly or parasitic voltage issues and non start) thanks for the content, you ,Brew2l, and Neo have me looking for a foxbody to play with, thanks for the content, you guys are all helping a lot of people fix these cars

Like You said make sure that the Battery is disconnected and make sure that You are familiar with the wiring schematic for Your car. I personally like to use a heat gun for the heat shrink tubing because I almost burned a car up using a lighter the old wires and insulation can ignite quite easily. Great content Thank You

The dark emerald green just lost 5 lbs. As always, enjoy your videos chris and your level of patience when working on them. Its funny you did an alarm video cause i was thinking a few days ago how to go about installing a diy anti left on a car. Like a hidden battery kill switch or a hidden fuel shutoff switch. Have any experience with any of these setups?

Fuuuck what a nightmare. Every single car I've bought the wiring was jacked into with stereo and alarms. Back in the day they were almost status symbols. I can't remember what movie it was but a yuppie character presses his alarm set button and it chirps and he's like "god I love that sound." lol

My coupe had a old viper alarm, got it removed and fix a electrical draw from the air bag system. No dead Optimas any more.

The worst! Back in the 90s I had an 86 that had a key actuated alarm and the key was mounted on the quarter panel. Wtf!? Ripped that junk out.

Chris, will see you at Foxtoberfest. I noticed that snorkel under the dash. Is that from the AC so that air goes to your knees and the floor? My 92 had one of those. Hated it.

Did you weigh all that crap?!
I did the same with mine, wish the led was never drilled and placed in my dash pod, but back in the day that is what they did.

Hey I have a 1990 Ford mustang and I had a viper system put on my supercharged foxbody and ever since that install my car only lasted 3 months , my blinkers stopped working the first day they gave me my car back, got it installed by Eureka car stereo in Humboldt county, and now I'm on my 2nd engine. Now I'm dealing with still no blinkers and my battery is always draining.. I like that the viper system allows me to see where my car is at and can open my doors but now my key fobs don't work and that store hates me and I have warranty contacted better business bureau but they denied me to get my money back and I'm scared to go back to that store because I don't want them to mess up anything else. Should I just remove the entire system.??
