- The Feast of the Annunciation is celebrated annually in the town of Balzan For several days, the town has an interesting program of celebrations, both in the church and all over town. The locals decorate Balzan in colourful lights, statues, drapes and other decorations that created a vibrant atmosphere. Brass band marches take place every evening on the days preceeding the festa, accompanied by spectacular fireworks that light up the skies.

Thank you so much Steve for sharing this video. As a first generation Australian of Maltese parents, I heard of the Maltese festas, even going to festas in Blacktown (Sydney) when I was a child.
Steve, what a really fantastic video of the Festa, it was wonderful seeing inside the beautiful church, then the procession was marvellous. This village Festa was the first one I ever saw when I moved to Malta a few years ago and it was awesome to see. I've really enjoyed it and all the other village Festas are also fantastic. Hi Steve. For me this was down memory lane. I was born in Hal Balzan and my Dad was one of the carriers of the Statue . He did it for 40yrs. And use to help with the church decorations on the church . He use to go on top of the church which is very . My Dad's name is Nicholas Borg he passed on in 2014. Hey Steve, I really enjoy your videos. I was born in Malta and immigrated to Ontario, Canada when still a girl. I am enjoying your festa videos seeing the beautiful churches and the statues. Brings back a lot of nice memories. I hope you will video the Lija festa on August 6th. My dad is from Lija and I loved the festa of is-Salvatur with all the fireworks. Keep up the good work. Loved this video, never seen Balzan festa before, it looked great, the church was lovely and the bands very good, the singing was good and it was good to hear Renato again, we once met him and see his show at the Maltese Paladium many years back. We could see you were enjoying it to, great work Steve and thankyou. 🍷👍
