I spent the first 5 minutes of this video trying to figure out why youtube was playing on 2x speed. I finally accepted that it was on normal speed though I cannot fathom how he is able to do things so quickly and efficiently. Every time I open my inventory to find something, it takes at least 10 seconds
@@Abrogator91 getting alot of hours into something makes you very efficient, i'm also getting that at my place of work, thing just get kind of "natural" you know where to find everything etc. Kind of muscle memory for your brain. Some people have it more then others, but i hear it alot at my place of work to, i have the mouse allready on the spot where i need to click in a second when the computer is still loading. People notice that to. You just "know" things and when and where they happen. Same things happen in games, like factorio the inventory auto sorts if i'm right. Then the stuff will allways be in roughly the same place.
That mapseed is pretty nice, i am using it for my base with some uranium for lategame. the start iron is so nice. Good run nefrums! i struggle with the lategame aswell :D
Every once in a while, i go and play with a cheat/creative mod that allows a particular belt to provide whatever is in the first slot of a regular chest. Even with that, I STILL come no where near these times. 8 hours to rocket launch for me is about my best time. {grumble}
Man, watching this right after watching world-class Starcraft tournament matches...it's fascinating. In Factorio Any%, there are no enemies, no opposition; you're just building a factory, researching tech, and producing the resources you need to launch a rocket (eventually). In Starcraft, everything revolves around the enemy, even though precise economic growth and build orders, careful management of resources and production, and well-executed strategies. And yet, they both have a similar feeling at the highest level. While stuff like Biter Battles or Deathworld Races is a lot more similar, it's a rather fascinating parallel regardless. It'd be really interesting to see Factorio's potential for teamplay to be factored into different speedrun or race categories. Like Deathworld Race but with three players per team, or a Deathworld speedrun with three players per team, etc.
It seems so easy when you do it, but I guess that it is a result of countless hours of planning and practice... How many times did you play this specific map? hundreds? thousands?
here i am, 72 hours in a save, and just put down my oil refineries. While this guy shoots a rocket into space when i just made my first steam power plant.
Looked at Maj 20 run and tried to get identical settings and map. Copied the seed and your resource settings. Set "always" and disabled enemies and cliffs. I even downgraded to 1.1.33 and run it as multiplayer server, but still I did not get the same map. Any ideas why my map is different? Is there any setting I missed out on perhaps? I do have even distribution and helmod turned on. I guess that should not change anything with regards to the map?
Shift+Right click on assembly machine to copy recipe. Shift+ Left click to paste on another. You can also hold the click to paste on several machines like in a line quickly.

I fell in love with Factorio. It is different than other games I play. Until I get use to beating game. I keep my bites on low. So I don't get attacked.
You gotta scale up. Ditch your first base and use the supplies to make another, larger base. Do everything properly so you don’t end up with severe bottlenecks. Make large, scalable builds with simple inputs and outputs so if you need to fix something or double it in length for more production it’s easy. Leave yourself lots of space. A main bus is crucial to an easy playthrough. If you don’t know what that is look up a tutorial because it’s a game changer. You don’t need train builds to beat the game. And if you struggle with oil processing, just use blueprints your first playthrough. Good luck
He used the Drop key, wich is 'z' i think. by holding Z and having your cursor on a furnace you dont drop it on the ground and you can just move your mouse wildly.
I watch him and blown away how he has things set up. I personally am going through the tutorial. Playing it yourself is different. I won't be doing any speedruns like him for a while.

I know you do this stuff over and over, but it still amazes me how you are able to belt out all those complex schematics off the cuff like that.

I find it extremely hard from purple science and from the bot, it's hard after that.
