I had been doing pullovers the entire time for separate reasons and getting stronger on those, so there's a high likelihood that THAT was the thing that fixed it.

Really cool how strong you have become!
Would be interesting to see how this strength transfers to other sports, such as climbing. do you think you could try to go to a climbing gym and test it?
I know specificity is most often king, but would still be interesting to see. Especially with all the grip strength you have gained from the fat grip pull ups too.

Amen brother, see so many ppl 1 year in the gym upping to 40 kg weighted dips. 6 reps with super upright form, more nicking than dipping but 40 kg, I do 15 kg additional weight from time to time for 12 reps. 98 kg bodyweight, I can only do 18…20 bodyweight dips, probably lack of cardio capacity 😂

I loved doing dips when I started working out, primarily because they looked cool AF. Now, 'cause of an elbow injury they hurt a little. I have been slowly working on recovery by doing bands and just better exercise selection, hope one day I can do them again pain free!

I think dips are gonna be one of those exercies that i just wanna get to perfect form slow bodyweight dips and i'm good because really the effective hypertrophy range ends at 50 reps considering that my heart is fit enough. It's gonna cost me fatigue but honestly it kinda makes it more relevant to real life situations.

I started hitting dips at the start of my push days a few months ago.
I'm FINALLY seeing and feeling progress in my chest. Before, I would never feel my chest working, even pushing as hard as i could. Now its getting sore after the first set, feeling AWESOME.
    Dips are great.

Are ring dips superior to bar dips as it’s way harder due to instability, So I can skip bar dips altogether, plus bar dips feel awkward in that deep position? I can bar dip 18 reps clean but only 4 on rings

As Mentzer pointed out as well the dip is the upper body squat, so many things to do, tension and different spots to build a base into a weighted dip.
