I love this scene because every time I watch it I imagine Mr. Blank thinking “wow this security sucks” not realizing that there is a trained assassin guarding the house. Those security guards are pretty much like decoys
The best part in this scene is when Blank tries to hit a pressure point in Olivers hand and he counters it, thats how he knows he's not messing with the bottom brass.
That's what a good action scene does, it reveals character and tells a story, sadly most action scene nowadays don't care for that and just shoves explosivsions and meaningless fighting with terrible shake cam and camera cuts
2:40 the look on Blank's face after Oliver countered the "pressure point" move is one of despair. You could tell he thought he had it won before that point.
This entire sequence is probably my favorite from the entire series. Oliver dodging the bullet as the lightning strike lit up the hallway, the ensuing incredibly choreographed fight scene, and awesome exchange of words on the balcony ("What happened to you on that island?"..."You're about to find out.") I miss this Arrow.

Best part about this fight is how they build it up through the entire episode. Oliver had already confronted the guy earlier and we saw how much of a scumbag the guy was several times, so the second he stepped foot into the house, we were just waiting for the moment Oliver put his hands on him. The fact that Oliver proceeded to annihilate the guy and that the choreography was one of the best of the series doesn't hurt either.
Blank: What happened when you were on that island?! Oliver: Well the first year I learned how to use a bow and arrow to stop a group of terrorists, then the second year one of my friends became a phycopath so I took out his eye, third year I actually spent in hong kong and starling stopping some sort of global conspiricy, fourth year I think I was on some drugs since there was a lot of weird magic, finally last year I was in russia trying to kill some guy while a weird lady showed up and taught me how to perfect the bow and arrow.
***** Oliver's power level is pretty much driven by plot. He takes out easily top assassins and fights people like malcolm and stuff. Then he turns around and has a hard time versus a cop acting like brother blood and a teen with a riot shield.
I'd place him at the level of that one assassin who used knives who was hired to kill Malcolm by Moira before she hired China White and the triad who got Deadshot. Oliver killed him right out of the helicopter and he came from another country. He was a skilled fighter but no match against Oliver who won fairly quickly. The reason this fight wasn't quicker was because Oliver didn't have his bow. As much skill as Oliver has, he's an archer first and foremost. He won this fight easily and would have taken this with zero difficulty given a bow.

For Halo fans, it was like the Master Chief Vs. Locke fight in terms of what you expected versus what you got: the fight was slower than expected and just didn’t feel as cool. This fight and other earlier fight scenes? Awesome. Fast paced and showing the skill that the two fighters have.

And yes, I do agree, one of the best lines Oliver used: “You’re about to find out!” Oliver fighting without the Hood armour was an intriguing delight to see. I wish they had kept Oliver in this dark path and without a team. The Green Arrow was very much methodical on his own and his journey should have been that. The team development throughout the series was very disorganized and chaotic with too many characters suiting up. I would have preferred Oliver and Speedy consistently together, using their abilities to have fought for Star City, right to the very end.

I really like all (or almost all) of Arrow's seasons, but for me what made the quality drop a little in the other seasons isn't even the fact that he doesn't kill anymore (Batman doesn't usually kill and still awesome), for me what they didn't know how to develop was the idea of the team, they wanted to make a team for the Green Arrow, but if he continued defeating an army of criminals armed to the teeth alone the team would be insignificant, so they made a guy who could easily defeat a trained assassin, have a hard time facing one or two fifth-rate henchmen so that "Team Arrow" would have their spotlight, or always be on the brink of death so The Flash could save him at the last second. Not to mention the poorly developed script for season 3, season 4 and not to mention that season 6 was pretty tedious, I really liked his arc in prison and I even understand that as he gets older he starts having a little more difficulty fighting, but his fight choreography in prison was extremely disappointing, I struggled with myself not to throw chlorine in my eyes every time I saw Oliver taking so long to defeat a measly random skinny prisoner. *AAAAAAAAAAAA*
Undriel Grenger same I’m watching the show since day one. If you compare episodes like this to the present season of arrow it’s like watching 2 different shows
To be honest, I think season 1 was better than season 2. They tried to do too much in the second season and the story doesn't flow that well for me. However, I really enjoyed the Flash episode.
In my opinion season 1 was great and so was season 2, However it seemed like the actor that plays Oliver (Stephen Amell) gained weight and was not as physically fit as he was in season 1. Just what I noticed.
Duy Nguyen Honestly, as great as season 1 as, the story didn't flow anywhere near as good as season 2. Way too many filler episodes not much focus on the main story.
+brrcs Show's still good its just Oliver's not that same killer anymore and I admit I miss that but he can actually become a really great hero. Season 4 is that chance it'll be mysticism and dark arts vs Oliver I like his odds.
+Guled Hero No, the show is quite bad by now. It has little to do with Oliver killing or not. But the writing has gotten utterly stupid and ridiculous since season 3.
How not? The characters have inconsistent abilities like Laurel getting her asskicked by a random thugh, but beating two league ninjas simultaneously in the same epispde. Conversations getting repeated over and over again in episodes right after one another. Illogical behavior like from the arrows being fired being strange for someone of average height not leading to the immediate assumption the killer was shorter than average, that only is considered once they know who it is, someone throwing the arrows with super strength makes more sense. Captain Lance going you never archived anything in this city despite the huge corruption problem from season 1 no longer existing and despite Oliver not being responsible for any masked villains actions in the first season and wildcat having been around long before him, he is supposedly responsible for all of these masks. Malcolm stating how no cells can hold them, so they don't even try and just let the mass murderer leave. Later that season all people in this conversation are trapped in a cage unable to free themselves at some point. Malcolm brainwashing Thea into a killing weapon, but no he really loves her and because he once banged her mom he is now her father and she must love him screw the people that raised her. The way to fight Ra's is getting taught Ra's weapon of choice by someone not as good as Ra's to get better than Ra's so that you can beat him in single combat. Not using your own weapon of choice and allies to your advantage. After season 2 made a huge deal out of Ollivers new no killing rule and making it so sacred and all. Lets unceremoniously throw it out the window in season 3. Felicity being bored out of her mind in the suburbs, but hey rich young couples don't travel or do things. Once your in a steady relationship your essentially dead. Villain kicking arrows ass then runs from Felicity randomly firing a gun, she admitted she doesn't know how to use, without using cover. Arrow kidnapping a guys family and teaming up with his Malcolm, but no Diggle has to give him a chance to make up for it, friends do that for people that endangered their wife and child for selfish reasons. Despite Oliver admitting in season 3 he did it full well Diggle would never forgive him. And thats just what I remember right now. Only the tip of the iceberg.
Even tho this was his only episode, this was one of my favorite villians. Dude was cold. But at the same time, I enjoyed seeing Oliver put him down. Dope fight scene.
I like the fact that the door guard reacts really quickly to a small detail, but Blank is just so good it doesn't matter. Show guards as competent, makes the villains more threatening

imagine if Moira is watching this fight this whole time in hiding.
The first season was so amazing !
When Mr. Blank walks by the door Oliver is hidden behind: “why do I hear boss music?”
I liked the show back then
When you bring a gun to a fist fight.
Oh the glory days of arrow.
He didn't look as fit as soon as half way through season 1. Then got ripped again for first few episode of season 2 then started gaining weight
Duy Nguyen Dude, I wish I was "not fit" like Stephen Amell... LMAO.
Duy Nguyen Honestly, as great as season 1 as, the story didn't flow anywhere near as good as season 2. Way too many filler episodes not much focus on the main story.
No, the story was better in s1. S2 was only good because of Slade
Does anyone else agree that Mr blank is one of the few true psychopaths in the arrowverse
This is how Home Alone should have gone
That move at 2:19 was awesome
Superman punch
Blank should have been a bigger part of the series, he was a good character
Haven't seen him since that angel show(, buffy spin off)
back when the show was actually good
+brrcs Show's still good its just Oliver's not that same killer anymore and I admit I miss that but he can actually become a really great hero. Season 4 is that chance it'll be mysticism and dark arts vs Oliver I like his odds.
+Guled Hero No, the show is quite bad by now. It has little to do with Oliver killing or not. But the writing has gotten utterly stupid and ridiculous since season 3.
Sven Kampen How so?
+Sven Kampen i agree the storyline for 2 and 3 sucked. what's your opinion on S4?
I like how Mr blank wasn’t one of those generic villains. I love the little quips he used which were quite funny
2:15 I love that move!
1.50 you would think that a man like arrow would spot mr blank in the darkness
He's black though
+Noodle_Pot racist
+Noodle_Pot I made the same point when I was watching this with friends. XD
Thierry Henry the legend -- That's the reason why though. His skin color and black suit kept him hidden
Best Arrow moment!
1:52 Oliver Queen is apparently The Flash now.
this the is the best version of Oliver queen
I think Oliver was even MORE humane this time with his common sense.
Seeing as savitar couldn’t dodge a bullet but Oliver can...
This scene is awesome
Even tho this was his only episode, this was one of my favorite villians. Dude was cold. But at the same time, I enjoyed seeing Oliver put him down. Dope fight scene.
Best hitman in entire series.
No, The Longbowhunters, they were so badass, and... kidding, they were ridiculous clowns. The Writers screwed them totally.
After watching Arrow and Agents of Shield, i just realised Mr Blank is played by the same actor from AOS.
Show was so goood.. remember binge watching on Netflix before cw made it official and then the flash forward bs.. loved it.
I'm coming with some of my friends to get my mansion back!
I like the fact that the door guard reacts really quickly to a small detail, but Blank is just so good it doesn't matter. Show guards as competent, makes the villains more threatening
