That was garbage. No one wants Cole as World Champion. The only person who needs to wear the belt is Danielson, but he is doing his heel group thing right now.

This seems like a replicant of Punk and MJF’s first appearance but I got to be honest. Cole isn’t on the promo level as MJF.. or Punk
MJF gets it! He's literally the whole heel package. Putting over his opponents and then just hammers into them!
He took that “ring the bell” line directly from Cole. Absolute genius.
It's funny that he couldn't come up with anything original. It is MJF though.
When Cole said it to Kross, he could back it up.
Sure, he had UE, but he also ran CZW and ROH before then.
Versus MJF, using Cody and Jericho and the Pinnacle (which damn near killed FOUR careers in FTR, Wardlow, and Spears, who got nothing out of being background fodder for their terrible feuds) and the Firm and Stokely and using the same lame ending in every match he ever has.
His matches (ironically, given he's 'feuding' with Cole) are like Britt Baker as champion:
Lame ass heel bs everytime, making the refs look like blind idiots.
AEW crowned a 'heel' champion that fat faced morons like the two guys in the second row cheer for in a pathetic attempt to get themselves exposure and some sort of recognition.
MJF is the Pinnacle of tired tropes, the cheap heat magnet that cosplays as the Rock and Austin and all the 90s stars that this fanbase jerks off to every night before bed.

I'm glad they're moving Adam Cole on from the Jericho feud and putting him with MJF because this is a feud I've been waiting to see since Cole debuted in AEW given how he's one of the few in the company that can hold his own in a promo battle with MJF and how good they both are in the ring. Hopefully this goes beyond the non-title match they're having next week because this at least deserves to be built up to Forbidden Door.

I think they will return to that storyline later in the year or next year after Kyle O'Reilly has rehabbed his injuries and is ready to return to the ring and bobby Fish decides to return to AEW, then we can have the Undisputed Era vs. The Jericho Appreciation Society.
The JAS is literally the “push killer” faction in AEW.
@@JuliusC1973 I'd honestly rather see the JAS crumble than see a feud between the two groups even if Fish decided to come back (which I find highly unlikely even with all three of his former stablemates in AEW now). That group just doesn't have much reason to exist right now nor did it in the first place even with the genuine backstories between Jericho and everyone else in it and Jericho himself would be much better off actually flying solo for the first time in several years.

I think this was my favorite MJF promo ever, and I love that he did most of the talking and that it was largely praise for Cole, until he needed to take a few shots. Also thought Cole did really well here. I hope this match whenever wherever it takes place ends in a DQ type finish so Cole doesn't lose and MJF doesn't win so when they face each other again down the road it feels bigger.
Yes, definitely shouldn't be a "one and done". This could be an awesome feud, and I think we'll see MJF vs CM Punk after that since they've BOTH been advertised for AEW Collision 💥

Finally they are doing something useful with Adam Cole. He and MJF are 2 of the best mic workers in the business right now.
I'm so used to Adam Cole as a heel that it's taking some getting used to to see him as the face here but he holds his own well on the mic. I expect MJF to win and he should, but one thing I will say is that this is a bit of a rinse and repeat from his feud with Punk.
MJF can deliver lines like no other but the whole "I used to look up to you, what happened" thing can only run for so long. It still works here but I just wanna say they should tread carefully there. Just in the sense of promos.

@@Fencellisk thats the problem when CM Punk joined. All these other guys immediately to go toe to toe with him and hold their own, but Punk was a "mic guy". You need to let him cut deep and react that way. MJF is a "mic guy" but hes also a "bad guy". To get a good guy over, the good guy has to either hurt or beat the bad guy. MJF lets the good guys hurt him. His idol is Triple H and he takes a lot of his style from him. Arrogant, entitled, stands proudly from his pedestal, but also smart enough to know that when theres a Rock or Austin, you need to let them go.

holy shit, thought adam cole was losing his touch. But that promo showed the entire AEW crowd who Adam Cole is and why he's been picked as the top guy for so many promotions.
That promo sucked and made no sense. “The reason you’re talking about my body is because of my body of work”. MJF already addressed and praised his body of work, so why even bring that up when he’s making fun of his frail body?
He can’t shit on his body of work since he acknowledges it as being good so he had to shit on another thing which was his physique, etc.

The problem with MJF, is that he's so damn entertaining it's hard to boo him! Even when he's going hard and crossing lines, I just love him even more for it. He will end up being a huge cross-over star one day, mark my words. He's just like The Rock in his late 90's phase, people just started cheering him because he was so entertaining and great in the ring. That's why I think MJF has to really go hard sometimes on the stick, to make sure people boo him, even then, when his music hits people still cheer....it's only a matter of time.

Promo of the year so far when in comes to AEW I loved everything about this the references from both of their pasts the humor was on point & the intensity was truly deliver. That match next week screams not being a one off I believe we'll get a rematch at All Out for the AEW Title.
