Agree 100%. My biggest fear is that when (not if) either Rodgers gets injured again or lets down his team (again) some fool at a TV network will want to make him an analyst. Great QB in his day but no Q factor other than with fans of the team for which he is playing

Rich is right. Superstitions are silly and moving the goalposts to justify them is even sillier.
Superstitions are 100% silly but there are so many stories of athletes doing things because of superstitions.
It's human nature to try and explain things we care about as though they're in our control somehow.
Religions do this for many people. Help people feel some type of control or intimate knowledge over the circumstances of life, when in reality it's just a bunch of randomness coalescing into the present.

Allen had to be carried kicking and screaming into the playoffs by Cook. Passing game performed so bad they got rid of all their receivers. As for the 49ers, they don't have to worry about the madden curse. They are already cursed by their slogans ("Quest for Six") and the Big Bell Bottom built on a refuge site.
I'd be surprised if McCaffery doesn't get injured, just with the amount of work and contact he gets, regardless of the Madden curse. Also it's the 9ers and they're always injured.

Regarding the Madden curse, as a Seahawks fan I have to mention Shaun Alexander. Guy rushes for 1880 yards, 28 TDs, wins the MVP and leads his team to a Superbowl appearance in the same season. Appears on the next Madden cover and he never hits 1000 yards again and is out of football in three years. The curse is real enough. Even one third is pretty scary odds that Niners fans probably wouldn't want to take.
Apparently even tj watt has to lap the field also for even being considered dpoy. Tj had the most sacks last season and garrett no showed his last 6 games and still won dpoy. Apparently tj has to tie or beat the sack record to win dpoy
