@@AkshayKumar-qc4rz I've done that, but only one villager is scared at a time?
Thank you very much for this tutorial! I hope you'll make more content like this!
In the beginning there were a few problems with golems spawning outside the 9x9x3 hole. I was finally able to fix this and have a fully working farm. Thanks to a few people in the comments I was able to find out why they kept spawning outside. Here are a few things (from of the comments) I found very useful:
- Make sure the terrain around the 9x9x3 pool is flat around this area. Somebody in comments mentioned 33x33 around the center. (So 16 blocks in every direction + the center one)
- Try to make the whole area a path by using right-click with your shovel. You can either use torches, buttons, slabs, etc.
- Make sure there are no open caves/holes/spaces underground nearby the villagers. The golems might spawn inside. Even if it's just a one block area. After a little bit of reading on the web it seems that Iron Golems can spawn within range of 8 blocks in every horizontal direction or 6 blocks vertically from the villager. So I filled up every hole within 8 blocks from the beds.
- Also make sure to dig 7 blocks down for the villager hole.
- Optionally you could use spectator mode to check wether there's a hole or empty space around the villagers. I found an iron golem in a small space I didn't notice earlier.
Had the same issue, thank you
@@Jow64 its bigger that 33 by 33 but i belive on only one side
thatks i had the same problam you save me
For people that are having trouble with golems spawning outside, iron golems spawn in a 16x16 area centered around a village. In this case, each set of three villagers is a “village” so just spawn proof the surrounding blocks on the surface with carpets or whatever you have and everything should work fine after that
THIS IS NOT TRUE !!! Why do people act like they are so knowledgeable while blatantly getting things wrong??? Golems do NOT spawn in a 16x16 area centered around a village. its a 16x16 area centered around VILLAGERS. Not town centers.
in this case its a 16x16 either way lol since both the village and the villagers are in the same space...
@@aasofjg1511they probably just had a typo
Would torches be adequate to make the 16x16 spawn proof (Minecraft n00b here)
@@dermottobin9 I do not think so because the golems are a neutral/passive mob, i could be wrong though
hands down probably one of the easiest starter as well as end game farm you can have. i keep coming back to this video whenever i have a minecraft phase because it always carries my entire server everytime, thanks 👍
I’ve been procrastinating in my hardcore world to make an iron farm but this really helps a lot, thank you voltrox.
same here lol
Excuse me but I'm having a hard time spawning any golems, could u know any reasons why?
It's the second farm I've made and I can't get it to work, I'm a bedrock player so I'm confused why it's not working
Problem: bedrock
Solution: Java
@@chickenator9105hi! If you didn't fix your problem this can be because you already have golem near your farm.
My little cousins and I made a server and it's so stressful as an adult to play with them and keep teaching them but showing the wonders of minecraft definitely is worth it. I also like how much fun they're having, from mining, farming, getting animals, and all that. As much as I want to go to a cave and get iron, I hate having to stress about them dying and getting blown up by creepers! Definitely needed this 😂😂
This sounds so wholesome lmao

finally after so many trials I've know how to fix the farm if the villager doesn't care about the zombie anymore.... all you have to do is wait until its night time and cover or put a wall(solid blocks) between the villager and the zombie after that wait the villager to sleep their beds and then when they sleep you brake the blocks...
i fixed the issue using a zombie bouncing in water using soul sand and slabs so it lets villagers sleep & wake up to continue spawning zombies
As someone who didnt have enough iron for the hoppers, I really needed this
A small fix for anyone haing the issue of zombies spawning outside of the pool, you can trap a zombie in a boat over the middle of the main pool and then destroy the path up to the zombie. the golems will aggro to it and fall in, just make sure to put a one block roof over the zombie so it wont burn.
tysm!
Thank god, that I did just that after I managed to screw up by having the golems spawn outside the pool and thus they didn't go into the pool so I set up those zombies to have them aggro the golems that way.
I tried this, but the golems were walking up to the edge and were not falling in
@@xerofish yeah, that happened to me as well, but after a while they did fall in and if they don't then try to hit them with a couple of arrows and see if that could help put them in a track where they do fall down!
@@xerofish try moving the zombie 1 block down
Dosnt quite work in 1.20.1 iron golems keep spawning outside the pool, what you need to do is simply put 4 more zombies on top of the pool in corners in hight of 3 blocks and 3 blocks from the corner of the pool, also put trapdors on the walls of the pool so golems would fall in
Dawg ty for this I was so confused
So you mean 3 blocks high in each corner then 3 blocks away or what from the pool?
what do u mean by the 3 blocks bit?
(do all in the pool area not outside of the pool) So basically you need to get zombies 4 zombies on top of the pool in 3 block hight and 3 block towards the middle so golems would get attracted to zombies but at the same time they would fall in the pool and don't kill zombies (all of the 4 zombies need to be in boat or minecart and all of them need to be named with name tag)
Quick notice the farm will not work 100% efficient but it will make 64 iron blocks in like 45 mins, depends on server if you play on one, best works in singleplayer
best iron farm i've ever built, very easy to follow, cheap, and very effective. thank you
I had problems with the iron golems spawning outside the 9x9 area. I used a couple diamond shovels to path a huge area around it, and I also noticed they can spawn on the trapdoors which I hadn't removed initially. Replaced those with path dirt and now it seems to be fully effective. I wasn't sure if they can spawn on grass blocks with torches on them, so just to be safe I replaced the lighting with torches on stone walls
the trap doors are only to get the zombie in
how much area did u shovel out?
@@_.hiyaaaa._ I'm sure you already figured this out, but in case someone else is reading this, I did 19 by 19.
I made this exact design on our SMP server just a few weeks ago, good to see it’s ‘Voltrox approved’ now :). I opted for an elevated version though since I didn’t want to occupy that much space on the surface. We didn’t have elytra yet so everything was done using a big scaffolding structure, worked like a charm! I made one central floating chamber for the golems to spawn and then built 4 smaller cabins in each corner with the exact dimensions of the underground variant.
Getting the villagers in was a big pain but we managed to get there by making a temporary nether portal in the hub and using minecarts to get them from the breeder through both portals to the platform in the sky, from which we then used minecarts again to transport them to each of the 4 housings. Zombies went slightly smoother except that I forgot to spawnproof their holding cells which caused golems to spawn there and kill them. We also didn’t use boats but simply threw helmets at zombies from our spawner until 4 of them started wearing it, let those 4 chase us through the nether as well and then have them fall using the trapdoor technique.
The farm wasn’t working with the trapdoors in the barrier between zombies and villagers at first so I swapped them with another slab and trapped the zombies in a composter with a trapdoor to make them jump, breaking eye contact briefly and giving the vilagers plenty of opportunity to use their beds when required.
It has since gathered an insane amount of iron as it’s located right in the spawn chunks, highly recommend this design!
I did exactly what he did but it doesn't work
In my multiplayer server i built it. But it works only at night what can i do?
For the people having issues, a few things to note. I'm playing Java btw, 1.21
Make sure the hole for the villagers is 7 deep total.
Also make sure the floor around the hole for the golems is all flat in an a about a 33x33 area. This to ensure the golems spawn in the hole.
You don't have to dig the chute for the golems that deep if you don't want to, mine is like 12 deep with lava that kills them off and works just fine.
Make sure to pay attention during the video because the boat placement matters.
Lastly, make sure all the villagers are able to sleep in the bed at least once before the zombie enters.
with the hole for the golems, it is likely that deep to get them out of the villagers spawning distance because if the villagers notice a golem nearby they will delay to spawn a new one!
Ty for help

@@lil-biIly That is true, it also makes sure there is no other area they can spawn in. The ground around the area (hole) would be too far away to be spawning golems.

Thanks for the video. Built this in my skyblock world so it was REALLY hard to build because following along in the sky was difficult. Got it built but do have maybe a problem. I am getting an inconsistent amount of golem spawns. Sometimes 1, sometimes 3. If anyone knows why I would love to know.
for better results expand water area 1 block out on each side and place a named zombie about 8 blocks above the middle of the 3x3 the water feeds into
yo i appreciate your videos but please put the world downloads in the description so we can test the farms out before building them first.
If you have problems with zombies disappearing, check to make sure you covered the floor with the boat and all the stairs in torches. I had golems spawn in there because I left them out, they would kill the zombie and then suffocate.

Just make the surrounding area of 14x14 blocks spawn proof using slabs, trapdoors or dirt path.
tysm this was so helpful and the farm works very well
if you want to fix this farm in versions 1.21+ then all you need to do is build a bridge to the middle of the water area and put a boat, then at night lure a zombie to sit in the boat and give it a roof. this made my farm work.

will it work for bedrock?
@user-kb4kn5oo3c I don't know, but my guess would be no (different mechanics for iron golem spawns probably)
If the villagers aren't locking onto the beds at night you can also just row the boats on top of the holes, get out of the boat, and break it. Line the boats up so the front and back are facing the long ways if the hole.
This is how I got mine in, but now they won’t link to the beds inside. Any ideas on why not?

What worked for me is the area around needs to be REALLY flat. Not just to build but for spawns to work correctly as well. After filling in all of the surrounding area with dirt to make it flat, all my golums are now spawning in the pool, thank god. That should get you pretty far, if some still spawn out, I sat there and watched which quadrant the golum was for and where it spawned, I then would fill that part with more blocks. After a while, all golums are spawning in the center. Hope it helps.

farm works well (1.20.1 optifine)
rates of around 1k iron an hour
what i did in addition to this video:
pathed out and slabbed a radius of 15 ish blocks from the centre of the built (most important), as well as having the surrounding area lit up (i dont know if the mob cap applies and considers golems)
have 7 zombies on boats (2 fell down some holes, dont know if this had an effect)
what i didnt do:
did not spawn proof the underground caves the golems could be spawning in, this might be the reason why the rate of iron decreased over time.
testing:
30min: 519 iron
60min: 973 iron
this build would be easier high up in the sky, less work needed to spawn proof caves.
48 torches 28 ladders 12 trapdoors 9 hoppers a bed 9 signs 8 slabs 8 gates 4 water buckets 4 boats 2 chests a lava bucket
12 Beds!
So helpful 😭🙏
this is surprisingly faster than the traditional hovering chamber ones and also much cheaper
also iron
Guys I almost lost my hardcore world - remember other mobs can fall down the chute as well! I had a few skeletons zombies and a spider all hurl themselves in just as I was about to go afk and let some iron build up. I built a little retaining wall out of slabs to block all access - the lava probably would kill them but they could otherwise walk out and get a few hits on you.
thank you for the tip. Do you really get 1300+ each hour???
it wasnt working for me and i dont know why i built everything right and iron golems still are not spawning someone please reply
Same for me he says there must be exactly 20 villagers but I can't make them breed more than 18
The farm works as intended, nothing spawns outside. However the amount of golems that spawn Is kind of inconsistent. Sometimes 1 Iron golem spawns, 2 or 3 and sometimes all of them (4) however It's never consistent, what did I do wrong or Is that supposed to be like this?
same question here
It should be giving 4 golems every 30 seconds, it might be because of the boat placement, the video doesn't give so much info about the boat much
So I got this to work in 1.20.1. Just follow the tips of digging 7 blocks down for villagers. I placed dirt 3 down so the villagers don't take fall damage. I also flatten a large area to prevent issues. Then I made sure the villagers sleep for one night before bringing zombies down.
Can I make it near my house.. does the area needs to be flat around it?
Iron 😃 I saw it and also Thank you its so easy to build!
Ive tried to do a irom farm like this one. It was with one section and not four like in the video.

I GOT 0. 0.
To save hoppers, you can place water to flow the items to one hopper.
So, I had some golems spawning outside of the pool - just shoveled everything to be sure, and now it works like a charm. (Basically, use a very flat area, follow the video closely, and get rid of any spawnable block in the vicinity)

what would you say is this "vicinity"?
I really do not wanna slab the entire area because I built this farm near my base
@aboodgh1050 Like I said, if you can build this on grass, you can just shovel everything. There is a little tool to see what the spawnable blocks are, too, if you want to avoid too much work.
At first it wasn't working at all for me, in the end I had the trap doors in the rooms with the villagers vertical and they need to be horizontal so the villagers see the zombie in the boat and get the "afraid" state. On top of that an area with a square radius of 24 blocks around the center of the build has to be plane so the iron golems can only spawn within the water. (To measure go outwards 20 blocks if you stand at the outside edge of the water area and put a marking block, do the same for all four sides and you end up with markings for the outer lines of the square area that needs to be leveled. The total size to be plane has to be 49 x 49 blocks, from my experience.)
If there is water around: Iron golems CAN spawn in water, but only if their feet are in one block of water and two blocks of air are above. They will NOT spawn completely underwater.
My iron golems are literally spawning at the bottom of the ocean
i'm gonna need an iron farm for the hoppers lol
he explained it wrong, im not sure what but the golems were spawning outside of the farm. To fix it i just used my shovel and made a huge path around the farm. now it works perfect
