  • Harry Macarthy wrote the lyrics and adapted the music from the tune, The Irish Jaunting Car, by Valentine Vousden. The song was published in 1861, by A.E. Blackmar & Bro., New Orleans. During the four years of the war, this tune went through twelve editions and became the most frequently published Confederate piece of music.
    This performance was recorded in 2013, during the 150th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg reenactment.

      Aww sorry. But you lost and you fought for the worst cause any nation ever fought for. We don't want to take away your music per say. Why would we do that? Itshelps us remember why your grand daddy's fought. But I do note that when your ancestors left their farms or their plantations to "Hoist High" the "Bonnie Blue Flag" and fight for the Army of Northern Vagina that the song they sang explained very clearly what they were so god awful pissed about. The Nothern "Treachery" was threatening to take away the southern man's rights, which very distinctly meant the right of white man, to own his ni$%ers and beat em too. But go ahead and tell me that actually when all the southern governors said "peace out" they were actually leaving because of radical liberalism. They knew that right around the corner Obamacare, and gun control was coming! False. They did not. They built a society around racism, chattel slavery, which wasn't just slavery practiced going back to biblical times, but the slavery where the slave was distinctly lesser of a man, the slave was sub human, and almost had to be beaten. The slave was "a savage" incapable of being free. For every southern belle would be raped behind a street corner if they let those beasts on the run. And I know your grand daddy's was scared about that. They said Abe was such a lover of the negro that he was even gonna let white people and black creatures get married? Can you imagine?! Thank god your grand daddys rallied round that Bonnie blue flag to prolong the southern rat to own people, and ensure the white man was not the bottom rung of society.
      Now of course when Sherman marched to the see whipping your grand daddy's battle after battle and sacking city after city to make your politcians pay for being traitors, The soldiers of the United States of America also sang their own song, about their own flag. Our own flag, the flag that gives you your precious rights to own an assault rifle which you'll need when Sherman comes marching again with gay pride flags and drag queens to convert you all to Islam and force you to abort all your babies. When the Northern flag flew by the Southern Plantations the boys would sing
      " Hurrah, hurrah, we bring the jubilee!
      Hurrah, hurrah, the flag that makes you free!
      So we sang the chorus from Atlanta to the sea
      While we were marching through Georgia!
      The flag, that makes you free.
      Music, tells the story :) You can keep it.

    • @user-fb9ql8bm2e
      @user-fb9ql8bm2e Před rokem +3

      Personally I am not American but I think the South should be independent. Most of the folk who fought for the Confederacy were too poor to own a slave, and likely just ordinary working people themselves.
      The ruling class made propaganda to manipulate people into believing they were fighting for independence. But their true intentions were far worse. The 0.1% of rich people just wanted to keep their black slaves and white indentured servants so they could keep making more profits. And they forced the Southern working class to go kill, or be killed by, the Northern working class - people who did not have any major existing problems with each other.
      The next time the South is to fight for independence, it must be in the form of a people’s revolution. I am from Russia, where in 1917 our urban and rural working class (including my ancestors) united and rose up to overthrow our Capitalist, Imperialist state. In its place, we established a country called USSR controlled by the working class through ‘Democratic Centralism’ and guided by revolutionary political theory. With all state power in the hands of the proletariat, and all united under one Party for the working people, we were quickly able to punish those responsible for oppression and rid our lands of filth/degeneracy.
      In my opinion, the South is the region best adapted for this system, because you folk already have very unified communities and correct social attitudes (mostly 😂). You also have, by far, the highest capability to start a revolution because you already have so many guns there. The US government has heavily targeted our system and its creators with propaganda, in order to hang on to their power, but I urge you all not to listen. Instead, read books by Lenin and Stalin, to understand how to combat the enemy and built a society based on proper moral standards.

The American Civil War is portrayed as 'good' The North versus the 'bad' The South. It is far more complex than that the many Southern States saw the war as necessary to defend there soil from what they saw as state interference. Just like America fought us British/English in your War Of Independence to stop a regime and monarchy that was 3,000 miles away pushing you around and telling you what to do. It is also a great pity that you cant display your Confederate flag in public. I am going to get one to show solidarity.'Hurrah'!

My Ancestors were apart of the German Artillery of South Carolina(Bachman and Wagner Companies) and their first task for the Confederacy was the shelling of fort Sumpter from their position on Fort Moultrie. I have copies of their personal war diaries and I've finally have learned enough German to read them and they give detailed first hand accounts of the long bombardment of the federal fort and the beginning of Southern resistance.

      @derektai3758 Před 7 lety +246

      I find it highly ironic that people want to destroy Confederate monuments on the grounds that it represents slavery. While I do not support slavery, one may as well just as easily argue that the flag of the United States ought to be banned because under it, atrocities such as the wholesale extermination of Native Americans and appropriation of their land occurred. Indeed should the Union Jack as well, in all shapes and forms be banned too? For under it, you had the forced conversion of Native Americans to Christianity, the violent suppression of the natives in British India (yes your beloved Winston Churchill very much opposed an independent India) and more. In addition, a number of founding fathers were slave owners, including the famous George Washington. Destroying monuments such as these is akin to an attempt to erase the history of one's nation/region/locality and to try to forget the past. If anything these monuments remind of us the good that was in our forefathers (that we should emulate) and also reminds us of the bad things that we must strive to change in ourselves and in our society. One also has to remember that many southerners who fought for the Confederacy weren't even slave owners. They supported the institution because it was their way of life. Imagine everything you hold dear and what you know and now imagine if someone told you that you can't live like that. That's what the south for, in addition to slavery, the right to maintain their way of life. These people honestly people honestly believed (whether maliciously or with genuine good nature that slavery was an absolute right given by god and that the enslavement of the blacks was for their own good). Indeed some southerners, in rarer cases, taught their slaves how to read. Remember who it is you condemn before you judge, lest you find yourself looking in a mirror. They were people just as us. Wayward or wicked, but people nonetheless.

I am the great great great grandson of the real Rhett Butler. I am proud to be a Southerner. I am also very conservative politically. I am ready to get out of the Union. Texas fired the first shot, so it is time to get this thing going.
