- I present all models produced in 1973 by Dinky. The presentation includes car models as well as aircraft models and the meccano part, which prefers toys for self-assembly.

Eine perfekte Zeitreise für mich! Diesen Katalog hatte ein Junge , mit dem ich damals zusammen ein Zimmer im Krankenhaus teilte. Ich weiß nicht, wie oft wir den durchgesehen haben. Dinky hatte super Modelle, doch habe ich bis heute keine Ahnung, wo es die bei uns zu kaufen gab. Schade eigentlich. Danke Paul, für das präsentieren!

In Polen fehlte Dinky in den 60er und frühen 70er Jahren ebenfalls völlig, aber jetzt können Sie sich sogar mit Katalogen versöhnen. Die besten Wünsche

yes it was an annual edition. Best wishes
Yes all diecast manufacturers did an annual catalogue along with Britains, Airfix and Revell. Managed to collect a few over the past ten years, the earliest being a 1965 Matchbox catalogue and a 1968 Airfix one. Actually worth more than you might expect if they are in good condition and you have the original price list included. The price lists make you realise just how cheap things were back then.

Superb. I have never seen a Dinky catalogue. They made some models that others never did: 1:05 The 176 NSU. Had the Rotary engine before Mazda made the Rotary famous. 2:54 the 954 Vega Major coach. Was that the one in the Italian Job movie? 4:24 The 342 Mini Moke. The only car I felt very vulnerable travelling in - it's such an open vehicle.

Yeah, the NSU was a really special model. Not only did it have working lights (push down on the front to operate headlights, on yhe rear to operate taillights, roof to operate both) it also had a unique glow-in-the-dark interior. If you held up the car to a light source, then turned off the light, the interior would glow green! This effect could last for fairly long... I know, cause my brother and I both used our cars as "flashlights"
I don't think Dinky ever did this on any other model.
I'm fortunate enough to own a near mint version, bought a few yars ago. The most amazing thing is, that both the light bulbs still work after all these years!

i had dinky toys in 1962 and i think they were better than the models in 1973, not many army vehicles in 1973 ie no bedford rl 3 ton vehicles and no farm land rovers etc. i still keep a selection of 1962 vehicles

I had the Stuka and Jeep for my birthday back in 1971 and considering the manufacturing technology they had back then the quality was pretty good, all metal not a combination with resin like many of today's models.

Here in Ohio....(Lorain or Elyria), we really didn't have too many places to buy Dinky models.....Higbees at least sold Corgi's....

@@PaulRestorer Yup prices ran as low as $3.50 to a $12.00 for a fire truck! But believe me...as a kid in the 70's...that was A LOT of damn money back then! Fortunately, I have them still ..and most of them are all still in pretty good condition...with the original boxes, instructions, etc, too! And by the way...I still have all my old catalogues...just didn't have the 73' Dinky....
@@dancalmpeaceful3903 Yeah those prices make sense. The Atlas replicas usually sell for around that (after inflation) from Chinese sellers.
Do wish Mattel properly brought back the Dinky line but split it in two (one that's nostalgia focused and marketed towards adults and another that's similar to the modern pull back cars but with more features and maybe non prototypical wheels).
