Ride Behind Eureka & Palisade Railroad Number #4.

And now, we ride behind Dan Markoff’s beautiful beloved Eureka & Palisade Number #4 steam locomotive.
To think that this little engine was destroyed in a terrible fire and COMPLETELY restored in a garage in less than 6 short years still blows me away.

Eureka is a great locomotive. Isn’t she? I’m glad to see you rode behind her at the Great Western Steam Up in Carson City NV. Did I tell you that I finally have a Bachmann Fn3 model of her? Unfortunately it’s an early release that’s equipped with that garbage plastic gear that would wear out after several running sessions. So I recently purchased a new gear for it from Northwest Short line. Even though the original gear hasn’t worn out yet I don’t trust it. Wish me luck.
