  • Rocket Mapping
Dyno'd the bike in stock trim to get a base power figure, also reading afr to see fueling at different throttle position. Then flashed the ECU to smooth the upper end of the throttle map to build in throttle angle until you get what you desire up the top end of the map, so it's a smooth progressive curve to the throttle map.
Trimmed the fueling over 50% too.
Power and afr runs afterwards in order to see the gains and results
    Before tune- 132.98 bhp - 185.15 torque
    After tune - 160.85 bhp - 191.09 torque
Bhp gain of 27.87 at 6950rpm
Torque gain of 5.94 at 3900rpm
Red line moved from 6800 to 7200rpm???
I also believe that these figures on the slightly lower end too, as the main air jet needs to be stronger, so wasn’t getting the desired fresh air forced in.
I’ve only had in for a few days but in sport mode now, it’s a different level of crazy!
Still very easy to ride, it sounds like a jet fighter now, and even returns 43mpg when playing ;).
    Happy is not the word.
I personally used Dart Motorsport located in Halland, East Sussex, for the rollout road and tune, very friendly, helpful and good price.

I just got my 2021 rocket 3 GT with 1300 miles on it. I found out somehow i have wound up with a very unique bike. I have a 1 of 1 in the world produced from the factory white with flake in it, as it was made and used in the production of a show on HBO called The righteous gemstones. When triumph told me i have the only one produced in the world in that color my mouth hit the floor..... When I i went and looked at it and purchased it I thought why had I never considered this color? Now I know, because I've never seen this color! Already ordered my competition werkes exhaust!!!!!! I just hope the triumph community is as good as the Buell community was to me for 14 yrs.

Thank you, I appreciate the comment, time and honesty. I have noticed that bikers can be very opinionated (righly so) so I understand videos like this can sometimes let’s say “create debate” as bikes are so individual.

@@HastingsKickboxingAcademy I've got the R with sissybar for the girlfriend and the heated grips for myself, the quickshifter because I've LOOVED it on the previous 2021 R1 I've had.
Not gonna put a windshield on because I like the plumb and short silhouette, it's also why I put the wunderkind front and back blinkers on with the evotech tail tidy. About the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde exhaust that I was looking forward to, today I've heard they buried the project for the Rocket, so now thinking about Zard. Still needs to be road-legal for me. Except maybe the custom dyno tune and the airfilter, but thats kinda hard to find for your average race management center.
Other than that, I feel I have to play around with suspension, but as mentioned coming from an R1, it's pretty pleasant as is.

I'm now booked in to have de-tuning done next fortnight. The quote is $870, they tell me it takes a full day, then 'Gorgeous' is getting detailed with a ceramic coat straight after. They did the same model a couple of weeks ago and got an extra 30 horsepower out of it.

Update: The work has been done and it looks and rides great. After the de tuning, it looks like I can get about another 1k revs before hitting redline and about 20 something extra h.p. I have limited the enhancement to 'sports' mode only, so I can ride normally in 'ride' mode. So far I haven't gotten out of 'sport' it rides so well, and definitely is more spirited off the lights. Love it, but unless you have a thousand dollars laying around, it's not necessary.

Great choose on bike. 😂. Sorry for the slow reply I’m away atm so not much Wi-Fi 😢.
It’s a great screen and a good price. £100 or so, from Powerbronze, straight from their website.
And you’re right. It’s big enough for wind deflection, but doesn’t look like some I’ve seen. Where it looks like someone has slapped a patio door on the front 😅
I still prefer the look on the small GT screen, I’ve got a Carbon one for added coolness.

Unlike you, I have 180cm and have slightly longer legs and hands to typical figure. I am happy with front pegs, but I would prefer R handlebars, because in the seat I feel that there could be maybe 2-3 cm more space. But the dealer convinced me that this triangle is not comfortable for longer trips, so I have standard GT configuration. I don't have experience with quickshifter, so I don't miss it.

Currently, on a BMW RT which i love but it's too touring-focused. Am now looking for a "Cruiser style" bike that i can do a holiday trip now and then. HD no thanks. Finding a low seat height these days is a nightmare. I've tried the R1800 and found the riding position cramped giving me pain in the hips after an hour and way too much stretch to the bars. Like you, i have a 29" inseam and short arms. I've tested a GT but was only allowed half an hour, so really not long enough but in that time except for the forward pegs, it fitted my "Hamster" body. Thanks to your videos i made the decision to buy one With quick shift and mid pegs. Do you know how long it takes for delivery? BMW quoted4 plus months:(. On the Triumph site and dealer, i am led to believe the bike comes with 160bhp out of the crate. Also with the weight do the tyres last long. Am used to 7-8 thou out of a set. Would you say it is comfortable for tour of Scotland, the rest of the year i would be on A and B roads. Thanks in advance. Iain

Another great review. Mine should be delivered in a week or two; just waiting on the mid mount pegs mounting kit to arrive for the dealer to fit. I love the idea of remapping the ECU but the dealer said I would loose my warranty on the engine if I did. I’m already getting Werks slip on exhaust and loose warranty on future issues with the headers back. Interested in your thoughts on that for the ECU. I’ve also ordered a Evotech Performance Tail Tidy and the triumph scrolling LED indicators; which tail tidy did you get?

Thank you for the feedback and comment.
Your going to love the bike, warranty wise, honestly not 100%. As I didn’t have it tuned, more adjusted as there where no ECU changes or extra bolt on parts.
It’s ALWAYS a risk when we start playing around with them 😳 but then so is going over 70mph 😂
For me the reward out ways the risk personally. But i completely get your reservation on this.
Not sure if that helps 🫣
I’d love to hear your pipes once there on 🙏👊
As for the tail tidy, it was in the bike when I brought it, but it looks like the standard side mount that’s on eBay. With the tiny little LED indicators.

Hi, thanks for the question, and no there are differences, The R is defo a more aggressive style, the handlebars and peg position really makes a BIG difference, The R is better if you LOVE attacking corners and going out with H2's on an early Sunday blast!
The GT is a lot better for a cruise, and a faster ride out, I have short legs so NEEDED the mid-peek, but this then made the GT more responsive and gave me (personally) a real happy medium... I went out for my first blast this year, and it's AWESOME...
      If you're a bit of a cruiser-type GT!
If you like a little fun GT with Mid pegs!

1 - Yes, Triumph fitted my, Free when you buy it from them.
2 - It was mapped by a Race team, that works independently, I believe Triumph can do it, but they didn't have a rolling road to test the power outputs...
