Allow remote connections to SQL Server Express : How to Video

Enable remote connection on SQL Server 2014 express. By default, when SQL Server Express is installed it generates a random port to listen on. In this video you will learn how to configure SQL Server 2014 Express to accept remote connections over TCP/IP using SQL Server Configuration Manager and how to open the port on firewall for incoming connection.

Don't forget, it is CRITICAL the the SQL Browser Service is running, or no matter how you configure it, you won't be able to connect remotely! Also, the default port usually used for SQL is 1433, or 1434 for named instances. Hope this helps!
