Thank you for your advice. After grinding for bate and casting a thousand times Im convinced that fishing has NOTHING to do with where you stand while fishing or if you cast into ripples or lilly pads, or when the water turns green or purple where the fish are jumping. When the meter goes up only seems to change how quickly you catch the fish. No I believe your success is entirely depended on what Bungie decides to release on any given week along with your personal achievements thus far. The closer you get to your seasonal fishing goals the more difficult it becomes to catch the fish you need. HUN Gars and Deafening Whiskers just released again this week in Miasma along with the Exotic Moth Carp. Cod Duelo's haven't been available for 3 weeks. I catch a legendary fish approximately every 25 casts and an exotic every 100. Hun gars and deafening wiskers seem to be as often as the exotics.
Blues and greens give Sonar rep. Also apparently Exotic fish can drop ascendant shards

Yeah blue and green don’t give you anything for rep
They really need to stop the efficiency disappearing or stop the public events coming at the fishing spot that is the rotater that week the spawn b4 the bar is even full

The legendary fish can also have a chance at exotics. Got a hoarfrost from a lobster
Yes mate I found that out after the video when I got one! The exotic area changes weekly so currently exotic is EDZ

You get way more bait from salvage and deep dive like 18 pieces a run sometimes more
I can do 5 events in about 15 mins mate
So when the new season started I was able to fish and catch a ton of fish. Now when I fish, every time I get a bite I pull back an "empty hook". I have 494 bait and that drops 1 every failed cast. I don't know what's going on? I'm looking at the guardians around me fishing and they are all doing that animation of pumping their fists in the air like they caught a good one. Any ideas?
Are you waiting till it says to reel it in on my Xbox it tells me reel it in when it’s time to if you don’t do it when it says your hook will come back empty
