    Current first semester vet student (100% online for now). Love taking a break from my own studying to live vicariously through you and watching you do hands-on labs and seeing vet school from another student's perspective.

    Definitely respect the hustle doing this while in school. I would not have even remotely been able to vlog and make anything resembling social media content back then (if it had existed). Keep it up!

      I really enjoyed the content by Dyce. There’s a textbook called “the textbook of veterinary anatomy” and they also have flashcards which I really liked using!!

    Hi Amanda great video as always! My girlfriend and I are second year vet students. We were wondering your opinion on the Brown Bats. Like, who are they? I heard they are the best at OVC.

      @yourvetamanda  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi!! Thanks for watching!! Wow you and your girlfriend must be #couplegoals! Great question! The brown bats are like this exclusive club of super creative vets (hence the name), it really is an honor to call yourself a brown bat! Hope that helps ☺️

    What books or videos did you find helpful in helping you prepare for vet school?
    I really want to be a veterinarian and trying to learn as much as I can but I don't know where to start.

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  Před 3 lety +1

      If I'm being honest I didn't read a ton of book to help prepare for vet school. Most of my prep happened through working or volunteering! But I really enjoyed watching the tv show Heartland Docs, DVM! It's one of my favourite vet shows!

      There is also Dr. Oakley Vet I think it’s called I really like it, I think it gets me used to seeing gross things for when I become a veterinarian

    Hi! Can you tell me which are the books you studied from bones and muscles and organs in vet school? In Romania we don't have so many options.

    Hi, I love your videos and I had a question. How did you know you wanted to be a veterinarian? And, if I go in this career what type of undergrad major should I have? Thank you 😊

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  Před 3 lety +2

      Aw, thanks so much for watching!! I honestly can't remember what the one thing was that lead me to wanting to be a vet. For as long as I can remember I just wanted to be one (which is probably not very helpful, sorry!). In terms of what undergrad you should have, you can take any major (I personally think one with an emphasis on science is really helpful) as long as you can complete the pre-reqs needed to apply! Some popular ones are animal biology, biomed, biological science and zoology! Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask 😊

    Hi, I was wondering if you did not want to specialize in anything when you become a vet do you just do small animal or large animals things? In simplest form do you have to go to do anything else after vet school to be a small animal vet. Also thank you so much!!

    • @yourvetamanda
      @yourvetamanda  Před 3 lety

      If you don't want to specialize (which the majority of people don't!) you can either be a small animal general practitioner, a larger/equine animal GP or a mixed animal GP, so lots of options!! No extra schooling required, you can go straight into small animal practice!
