hiya Anthony i totally agree with you I like what I like, and I don't pay attention to if it's AI or traditional, I just buy what I find beautiful. I think all artists are valid considering I can't do either form

Of course! The short version of Dadaism: it was an anti-art movement that rebelled against gatekeeping in art and society as a whole. A lot of the best known pieces are found objects, or mixed media that would incorporate newspaper clippings. Definitely a movement that challenged the idea of what could or could not be considered art, much like the AI and digital mediums have been doing.

I love the open discussion on AI art work, I’m just getting back into watching DP content again and had to unsubscribe to a creator who was being super one sided and negative about the companies who use AI artists. I admit that I don’t know everything about the topic but I just didn’t see a productive conversation happening. It’s refreshing to hear someone say “I want to learn more” because I do too. Looking forward to continuing to learn together and will definitely be catching up on your content 😊

So AI is the "ghost writer" of the art world. 🤪 On to better topics, Chuck Black from Montana, check out his artwork! I just ordered a print of "The Setting Sun" Coyotes on the prairie from his website. I could only find a few of his things licensed to a cross stitch website and I thought about getting permission to create that one above as one, but thought better of it and just ordered a print. All this diamond painting has opened me up to search for artists I never knew existed, and THAT is worth every penny I have spent on it. 😀❤

I have no opinion about AI but it occurs to me that this same discussion probably occurred when photography burst onto the scene. Of course now it's accepted, but I can imagine early comments about- how can it be art if it was created by the click of a button?

Anthony, I think it's a great idea for you to do the comparison between the Japanese Temple by DAC and the company who is doing it in smaller sizes so new diamond painters can see how low quality stolen art is. I wish I had known when I first started diamond painting. My first kit was a Josephine Wall image (which I know now is called "The Three Graces") and it was a 30 x 40 cm in rounds. I didn't know it was stolen because I was brand new to the craft. It was also a partial with the faces not having drills on them. The faces had glue but no symbols so I had to keep plastic over them as they were sticky. Obviously, at 30 x 40, you could not tell what anything was. If you do this comparison, the newbies can avoid wasting their money on stolen art and find more reputable companies to purchase from. Good luck. 💜

Opposing view - do not support them by buying stolen art even to show comparison. I think you could get the idea across by comparing different sizes of a stock image.

I don't agree with buying stolen art either, but my thought was that if Anthony could buy it once to give a finished review on both the DAC version and the stolen version, it would give a clear picture of the difference. Artwork is being purchased by thousands of people everyday who don't know the difference. If I could have seen a comparison when I first started out, I would not have purchased the stolen artwork because I would have seen how horrible it looked and especially I would have known it was stolen. So you and I are on the same page here. I just think if Anthony could purchase one or two smaller sizes of the same painting to do for comparison, people would see it and it would prevent many, many other people from from purchasing stolen artwork in the long run. @@vonnekeiser209

maybe he should ask the artists at Imageworld how they feel about it. It could go either way - Yes put us to the test or No don't support stolen art at any cost.@@LisaNewf

Huh.. Interesting about the coverminders being "stolen", I have had the same thought a few time. Some creators show coverminders from shows and so on and I wonder if the production company behind said show, would consider it stolen?

Van Gogh was not considered a real artist in his time, and certainly never achieved commercial success in his lifetime
