- Sigma the Sixth, final stage, from Mega Man X6 for the Sony Playstation PSX. No damage taken, buster only. Jumper Part equipped. Features epilogue and credits. Sigma engages with two forms here. Neither is particularly difficult, and this is generally considered one of Sigmas easier appearances...
During his first phase, sometimes referred to as Sigma's Zombie form, he moves quite slowly across the screen while randomly summoning one of three attacks. The first is usually a large green shield that also moves slowly towards X, though it is easily knocked back by continuously attacking it. Sigma will also create large slashes lined up vertically with X's location. These can be ducked under or wall-jumped if need be. The third attack is simply a small energy projectile that is aimed directly at X. It moves fast and will need to be quickly out-maneuvered. Throughout this first form, it is generally a good idea to constantly stay moving to avoid the second and third attacks.
During Sigma's second form, he will create several minions that will either move slowly across the floor, hover in the air while firing projectiles, or morph into a moving platform. Sigma will then open his mouth to pull off one of two energy-based laser attacks. Note he is now vulnerable to damage while his mouth is momentarily open. Both of these laser attacks will destroy his minions, with the exception of the platform. When Sigma's health becomes low, he will begin spamming massive energy spheres that move quickly in both directions...undoubtedly the most difficult attack to evade. Once again, these are summoned directly at X's current location. Therefore, I find it best to jump in the air as he prepares this attack, then quickly duck below it once it materializes. First form weakness: Metal Anchor/Rakukojin. Second form weakness: Meteor Rain/Ensuizan.

Let me tell you that even though X6 is so awfully designed I love how they actually adressed X character development by making him take a "no fucks given" attitude. You can tell he's tired of fighting Sigma and instead of the regression of X7, he's ready to dispose of him every time he returns.
Pretty sure players were tired of Sigma's crap by now too. Gate got robbed.

The sad thing about X in X7 is that his wish to put an end to the fighting is actually reasonable (especially since he's more pacifistic in nature), but piss-poor direction made him a whiny little bitch instead of a proper voice of reason.
I think Sigma's drunken dialogue makes sense here considering his resurrection was half-baked and he pretty much lost all sense of self. X comments on it immediately afterwards. Hell, X at this point just wants to put Sigma out of his misery.
It’s less like Sigma’s last stand (of the week hahah) and more like a rabid animal that just needs to be put down.

Sigma's first form was half-completed. Wow. They weren't even being subtle about this game's lack of quality.
You know, despite X6's numerous flaws, I can appreciate the fact that, after three games of bittersweet victory, one game with an outright sad ending that feels like a loss rather than a victory, and the bittersweet ordeal that is X5, an X game actually ends on a high note with a message of hope for the future. Had X6 turned out better, it could have been a great start for a new saga, an era of rebuilding after all the destruction caused by the war with Sigma. X6 could have marked the introduction of new villains with political motivations, taking advantage of the world's vulnerability and seeking to shape the world according to their visions.
Shifting the focus from one major enemy faction to several could have made the story _really_ interesting. Fighting one faction could benefit another, forcing you to carefully choose who to battle in a given area (meaning, a given stage could have more than one Maverick Boss). Even just two factions could allow for 16 different Mavericks in different combinations of 8 (my recommended ratios for Mavericks-to-Factions are 8:2, 8:3, 6:4, and 4:6, as those allow for an equal number of unique Mavericks per stage). The game keeps track of which faction controls each stage, and the endgame is decided by which faction emerges as the dominant force. In the event of a tie, the first of the final stages serves as a tiebreaker.

Lore™ explains it as, basically when Gate was corrupted and revived the Sigma/Zero virus, he messed up its programming/a lot of it was beyond saving, to the point even the virus itself can't function in the same capability as before.
Further explored in X7 and 8 where his bodies are about as deteriorated, hell in X8 he is a skeleton similar to here. He knows how bad he is to the point of adding his self to the NG Reploids.
and now we have Model W, which does not even talk and is just an entity of total consumption.

I love how mentally scarred X was in the epilogue of mmx5 and opening of mmx6. His eyes are even sharper than Zero and his skills are more matured and strengthened after his resurrection from Zero Space anomaly. Even in some dialogues, X becoming extremely strict and has no sense of humor. Also his character changed upon facing Sigma: while he's basically can't control himself when facing Sigma, now he's completely dominated and humiliated him saying how he doesn't have any time to mess with him with such underestimating and mocking tone.
Yet in mmx7, X suddenly becoming a whiny pacifist. And then in mmx8, his personality was kinda mixed idk.
X7 X is just based off how X5 X was before the Zero Space, there's dialogues in the Japanese version that are near identical to how X7 X would talk. they were either badly translated or cut out of the US version because almost all X games are horribly translated. in X8 he was turned in a killing machine without care, and that's actually one exception, since X8 is one of the only well translated X games.
I love how Sigma's body explodes for a full minute after he's defeated. It's clear that his body is made of fireworks.

X says "deleted" because Ligma's fucked up body isn't the issue, it's the sentient virus within it. Since it's a digital entity, not a physical one, it won't be "killed" but rather "deleted". Although, it would've been easier to just say "destroyed".

Apart from the inconsistencies, The difficulty was outrageous, level design confusing and crowded, the villain was dull, the armors sucked, and the whole plot didn't contribute at all to the main storyline.
Also, who says X5 was bad? X5 was the best IMO.
Things that i heard i preffer X1, but i think that all X games were excellent and yeah i can give faith to all of what you said.

In my opinion, it would have worked better for X5's final boss than the actual final boss theme, what with the game being full of throwbacks and all. What better way to kick off Sigma's supposed final defeat than a reprisal of his past themes? It would have been a good way to bring the whole series full circle. Even better if Psycho Sigma actually pulled out a saber, claws, scythe, etc. to call back to the previous four fights against him.
The second form theme sounds like the remake of Sigma 1st form in Mega Man X2.

Yeah, this game really hates unarmored/normal X.
That's what's special about X. He is weak while equipping no armor, but becomes stronger than Zero if he equips a good one.
I swear that it only took 3-4 hits to finish the final form of Sigma off using Shadow Armor's charged blade attacks. Equip the Ultimate Buster part and every hit becomes a charged blade hit.

X6 may be a Pile of trash but the Sigma 2nd form battle is the most epic sigma bossfight in the entire megaman x history

X6 Sigma's so angry he becomes the so called _lust for revenge_ and he's the *WHOOOO* himself. His laser could shatter multiple mountains (if there's a mountain remaining on 60% destroyed earth reconstructing in process) And let's not forger that dem blue balls could singlehandedly obliterate base X with no life upgrade, unarmored and no parts within single hit on Xtreme mode. Literally severe form of High Max's Desuboru spam.
Plus everyone and their Grandma used his Second theme in EVRY Flash Game ever devised.

Say what you want about the first form but the second form is one of the most wild, and difficult boss fights in the x series. And the track accompanying it is truly badass.

I still find X6 to be my favorite out of the PS1 trilogy, in spite of a lot of it's clear issues I can see (the nightmare system being annoying with a lot of it's gimmicks, level design making no fucking sense at points, typos, the story not making sense with certain things and others I'm probably forgetting) it's like a game you just like more and more when you keep playing it. I spent probably more time on this game than I should've but even with it's issues...it just clicks with me more than the other 2, even more than X5 and I think X5 is pretty underappreciated.

It's a shame the game was so rushed. Because I love the idea of this zombie Sigma, barely clinging to life because of his desire for revenge. If you look at it, MMX6 is basically the zombie apocalypse of the X universe. All 8 Mavericks had been killed previously and were brought back to life.
It'll never happen, but this is the X game that needs a remake. If just to fix the awful translation and terrible level design.
it really doesn't need a remake - MHX was pretty terrible with it's changes, and a remake would likely get rid of all the things that make this game unique, such as how many paths you can take compared to literally any other X game and how you can approach it, the difficulty and the amount of fun gameplay elements. it's not for everyone, but the translation can be fixed by using Tweaks and so can be the level design (even if i do think that the level design in X6 is good as is), an official remake would likely just turn the game into a game that's way more catering to the usual X player, but also a way more soulless, average experience with only some bits of fun left over.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the entirety of Gate's second level and bosses, I would love this game.

My hardest attempt was defeating x6 Sigma with armorless X, buster only and no parts. That seems absolutely impossible for me. But some people did that.

Nice fight. Though reading the description, I'm not sure I'd agree with the label of "one of the easier Sigma appearances". The second form to me always felt like one of the hardest. It's difficult to slop your way through that fight and tons of precision is required to even take minimal damage.

Seriously, Sliider.. How can you move like you know what will have? I mean, getting the pattern is simple, but where the attack will strike? *O_O*
right, first step is understanding the patterns, and, like you said, that's relatively easy most of the time...this also includes finding tells- movements or actions that prelude an attack. if a tell exists, it's a matter of quick reaction time to get where you need to be to avoid the oncoming attack. however, some attacks wont have a tell, or some tells are very quick. the massive energy spheres here wont tell you when they are about to happen. but once fired, you do have a couple seconds to duck or jump before they fully materialize and attack. i can also tell you that clearing these stages and bosses perfectly requires multiple attempts, and I begin to get a feel for whats coming next after several trial and errors...its difficult to describe, but there's a certain amount of intuition that develops after a while of playing the same stage or encounter. another thing that is an important part of my skill/style is that it is extremely important to be observing the fight correctly. k for example, while this fight is going on, my eyes are focused solely on sigmas head, while my peripheral is watching everything else going on, including the character that im controlling. so i watch X in my peripheral view, opposed to focusing my eyes on myself. this way, most of the time, im focused on the enemy and can react faster to its actions and attacks, because your looking directly at it, while you can still see yourself in your peripheral. if you can train yourself and master that way of observance, it will help alot with your control and allow for much faster reaction time. one more thing, and let's admit it- there may also be a small amount of luck included in a successful run like this...perhaps i managed to avoid an attack simply because i was incidentally in the right place at the right time, its rare that you may get that lucky, but it does sometimes happen. beyond all this, i guess its difficult for me to further describe how i developed my style of playing. i hope this helps at least partly explain how im able to move, dodge, and play the way i do.
