Russell Walton I quit using slick packs after my first couple of jobs. A good customer of ours told us about using mortar mix. Haven’t quit using it since.
The general rule I use with slick packs is prime out as fast as you can and make sure you let it gel up for 10 minutes before priming. Soapy water works for anything under 150 ft, just have to prime real fast so the mud doesn't get a chance to rock up.
3 hours, that's only suppose to happen after you put a 2 liter of coke in Hope's of making it back to the plant. I wouldn't be surprised if that company's still gonna want the customer to pay, not to mention all your time they wasted.
Would of saved you a lot of time and effort if you blew the hoses out. With the pressure testing set up that connects to your hoses. You put a plastic bag in the hose connect the pressure testing set up with your 3 inch clamp then connect the air hose to push everything out.
I feel like it should of came out with the air preasure one way or another maybe if you pushed it from the opposite side or maybe just one hose at a time but only thing thay matters is getting it done so good job

It goes in before concrete hits the hopper cause snot will make it separate and jam the hoses up
Russell Walton I quit using slick packs after my first couple of jobs. A good customer of ours told us about using mortar mix. Haven’t quit using it since.
Russell Walton we pump 3/4” rock often.
@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping a couple of our contractors use mortar mix.. they say it works well
Russell Walton it does. It’s cheap and convenient to find.
The general rule I use with slick packs is prime out as fast as you can and make sure you let it gel up for 10 minutes before priming. Soapy water works for anything under 150 ft, just have to prime real fast so the mud doesn't get a chance to rock up.
Schwing pumps are good but that looks like a long haul,. How many feet can was that.
I think only 225’.
Just sand and rock, how did it get the grey color in it?
I’m guessing fly ash
Does that mix have fly ash but no Portland?
That’s what I think.
Our batch hopper scales are fine. No need to calibrate them they say. Or we’ll send them a 3bag and say it’s a 5 they’ll never know the difference
Hey Jimmy , the pump never lies. Lol
In Florida were responsible for cleaning the mess from us and the concrete truck. Kinda stupid but I get it.
That’s some of the problem. If concrete had to take responsibility for what they cause they might pull their head out of there ass.
@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping most definitely. I get tired of hearing how it's always the pump. Especially when I pumped 40-50 yards on the job before
3 hours, that's only suppose to happen after you put a 2 liter of coke in Hope's of making it back to the plant. I wouldn't be surprised if that company's still gonna want the customer to pay, not to mention all your time they wasted.
Yeah your probably right
Never shoulda got that far should sent that truck back with a try again
Yeah I know. But if you don’t try they say it’s you or your pumps fault it didn’t pump.
Would of saved you a lot of time and effort if you blew the hoses out. With the pressure testing set up that connects to your hoses. You put a plastic bag in the hose connect the pressure testing set up with your 3 inch clamp then connect the air hose to push everything out.
Eduardo Rodriguez your right it would have been easier. But it wouldn’t blow out. They tried that. The water had separated from the material.
I feel like it should of came out with the air preasure one way or another maybe if you pushed it from the opposite side or maybe just one hose at a time but only thing thay matters is getting it done so good job
The batch plant really dropped the ball. Always take pictures and cover your ass.
4000fg with flyash, brown sand..
Hardley got any cement in it
If this Company/Plant consistently sends out bad Mix, how have they not been Sued for Fraud yet?
Just imagine if you did get that poured and it never set up. Hauling all that out by hand. UG!
Yes. We talked about that. That would had sucked.
@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping Just call in the BIG storm drain vacuum trucks...
They'd have cleaned up that goop in no time and then you could Return-to-Sender along with a Bill for the original cost of the fucked up Mix, the original laying of the pad, the pump/hose clean out, the pad removal and the new pad made from Mix sourced from a different plant...
If this kind of shit has happened more than once from this Plant, I would suggest simply Black-Listing them and refusing to accept ANY loads from them...
Tell the Customer/Concrete Contractor, if they buy from this Plant, they need to find a different Pump Company as you Absolutely REFUSE to allow their Garbage to be run through your equipment...
Yah, it'll cost you some Business, but in the long run it should save you money since you're not dealing with lost work time or equipment damage...
Don't they make an attachment to put a garden hose to a section at a time and help hydraulic it out , if they do I would have one.
We tried air. But they where to locked up. Using water ends up making a muddy mess in the area your working. If air want break it up. You get the hammers out.
Dayum wat a mess
Yep
Ask for the batch weights. Doesn’t look right.
At that point it is what it is. It didn’t matter or was going to change anything.
what a mess
All fly ash. No Portland. My guess. Drivers drive. Batchers batch :(
Didn’t think about that. You could be right.
And pump operator pumped.
I had a shit load here in aus a few weeks ago and it blocked up and I have a high pressure line pump and I blew my 5in to 4in reducers tail end clean off pumping 10m longline mix through a 3inch hose 60m and he sead to the builder my 2015 modle transcrete hp100 is shit and he should use a better pump. ok mate heres the video of me pushing 140m line of 40mpa shut him up real quick
Yes it boils my blood when they say the pump is the problem.
Looks like all gravel no cement
Exactly
Only one question that matters in this case: Who gets the bill?
Peter Lyczek customers do.
@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping Why not the Plant that sent the bad Mix? It's their screw up/Fraud if they didn't add Portland to the Mix...

hey frien you have any job for my, i have experince in concrete pump, i from costa Rica, i have american visa

I drove mixer in the bay area for over 30 yrs. Shame on the idiot driver for dumping it in the pump. Any driver worth a shit should have known that wasn't going to pump. And I hate to say it but what was the pumper thinking he could pump it. The minute that load of crap hit the hopper i would have said hell no.
The pumper is a good pumper and a hard worker. He does need more experience at recognizing good mixes. I’m not sure who’s to blame on the concrete company side. Never been in those shoes.
@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping concrete company first then the driver 2nd. But for what it worth the pumper should be looking at the mix as it first goes into the hopper
John Davidson I agree
That mud is junk three hour and not set up in that heat not good.
Some people just screw the customer for all they can and blame someone else for there failure. Wait that sounds like a democrat.
Tell them to call someone else they are wasting your time and destorying your equipment.
Ok i am done bitchin lol.
How are thing going other wise. Stay safe.
Scruffy 61 thanks for commenting. Things seem to be back to normal work wise. The rain has seemed to let a lone for now. It was the biggest hitch in or giddy up.
Pumping concrete sucks. Did it for ten years
Oh stop it. You know you miss it.
Hey..
Holy smokes, been there done that! Good thing you get paid by the hour, takes some of the sting out of it. No excuse for a load like that. Say that load was tailgated, it would have never set!
Yeah that would have sucked if they had decided to wheel barrow that stuff back there.
That’s not a good pump mix that sucks more work for the pumper
I wouldn’t call it concrete.
"there's no concrete in it" there's some of your problem right there!
Definitely needed Portland
Why would you keep buying concrete from the same concrete company that you have problems with all the time
Steve M no kidding
No doubt its cheap
Mm.
When dispatch send the ticket to the bach house and call a mixer truck, the Bach man call by radio to the driver and tell him to back flush.
Then the Bach man load that truck .
- driver never back flush.
- Bach man never tell the driver.
Pump operator look the load before starting discharge.
Pump operator fault👍.
He should reject that load.
Now: pump operator needs to pich 4 bags of slick packs+ a lot, a lot of water.
Post data:
Pump operators do not purge hoses well.
