    This is an awesome idea. And I used to vape rebuildable dripper atomizer that I could make my own coils at whatever ohm I want. And pack it with cotton. But we just need a way to pipe in new propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin so the cotton doesn't dry out and I'm telling you these things really pump out the smoke. These little tips don't put out the same amount of smoke it's meant for vape to mouth then inhale. But the drippers are vape to lung. Just strait to inhale.but they seriously put out some clouds. It would be perfect to use a 40mm 4 coil rebuildable dripper "rda" I know it would work.

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  Před 2 lety

      This works to some extent. Would you feel comfortable constantly blowing on your RDA for say 15 mins constantly wothout the fluid catching fire? If I'm correct an rda would just keep getting hotter and hotter if pressed for a long amount of time as they are unregulated? I'd be interested to know. I went for the Nord 4 as it was a small pod type device that could take 80w. The smallest to do that. Things start to get heavy and messy after that when it comes to box mods etc. Vg also catches fire if it gets too hot for long periods of time so I think the amount of constant smoke we can get won't be better than this. But I'm working on something similar so let's see. I think three of these going at once might be smaller and cleaner

    • @Reecefpv
      @Reecefpv Před 2 lety +1

      @@AndyRCchannel I'd say as long d there was air flow and constant supply of fluid it would be ok. I just worry about the battery because there was always an issue that if an rda got the button pushed in your pocket for too long the battery could explode but that was with 18650's. And with the RDA you could fine-tune your coil to be able to be at that perfect temperature where the air flows just holds the temperature from becoming too much. There's definitely something here. Just needs a few iterations of dialing everything in. I know sometimes I can take the cap off my vape and hold the button and just keep blowing on it as long as the fluid was there We just got to find that sweet spot

    • @Reecefpv
      @Reecefpv Před 2 lety +1

      @@AndyRCchannel It's just nickel wire different gauges and I wrapped it around a dremel bit shaft. Like 10 wraps and I used to use two of them in parallel I believe. then I would just twist up some cotton and feed it through the center of that coil and tuck the extra around it so it can hold more juice just leave the outside of the coil exposed to the air so the vapor can come off of it easier

      @eskee1 there's a guy who made one on CZcams, basically you drill a hole into the speaker and put a tube in it, the tube then goes into the smoke generator thru a hole you made in it too, so the sound travels from the speaker to the smoke generator and shapes the smoke according to the engine sounds

    I've seen something like that before, but the person made the vaporizer, let's say. It was years ago and I don't remember details, but he basically used some kind of cotton with some fabric around it and nickel chrome wires to make the coil... And used the exact same kind of oil you did... Or it was glycerin in gel... I really can't remember.
    Then he put everything in a box (maybe a metallic box, I don't know) and used a small 10a esc to drive it. Then you could put it in a switch and so on...
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  Před 2 lety +1

      there have been attempts in the past to make a product like you describe but they are not safe because there is no way to regulate the coils from going into thermal over run and the fluid catching fire, which is why you dont see them for sale any more. Burnout daemon and burn effect were two products you could buy in a store but after my research I would imagine there would have been so many incidences of some sort of fire or RMA it wasnt worth it to make them (VG has a very low ignition temp) you also cant cater for what someone's ESC can handle and how much things like motors running at the same time will have an effect on the current and voltage that can be provided to the devices you are referring to. so in short you would have to work out what your over all voltage sag and current draw is, on top of your smoke system and cater a custom length coil and ESC for that model, which these discontinued products did not do. At least with this method if anything goes wrong the coil just breaks before anything will catch fire. However I do have another idea im working on. but then today I thought. well what if i just run two or three of these, the ESC can easily take it haha. cant stop my brain from thermal overrun at the moment. Thanks for your input as always man you know your stuff

    try a high speed radial fan, they have better static pressure

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  Před 2 lety

      I have tried that but thanks for the suggestion. you know its kind of funny. the fans get to a particular point where they start to cool down the mesh and you get less smoke. The static pressure fans do this because they are more efficient at cooling than airflow. to combat this you can always turn up the pwm value but this puts a lot more strain on the ESC as it has to provide more voltage and current to achieve the same amount of smoke. It also drains the battery faster. This cooling doesn't happen when the atomizer is sucked on but does when blown. I believe this is part of the reason two fans made things worse. Thanks for the input really useful and thanks for watching and giving suggestions

    @choppergirl Před 2 lety

    I'd use a homemade solid chemical reaction sugar smoke grenade. Recipies on YT.
    No electricity required, but then, you've got a fire hazard if the model crashes before it's out. Once it's lit, no stopping it except submerging it or cutting off it's oxygen supply.

    Hi Andy, I'm trying to recreate your Smoker for my RC drift car, but I have a question. When installing it in an RC car, would it have to have 2 ESCs? one for the car engine and another for the smoker? I have a brushless esc and a radiolink that allows channel mixing just like the Flysky Noble NB4.
    If 2 esc are really needed, the second esc should be connected to a receiver channel, but only the data line? leaving out the red (positive) and black (negative) wire
    I hope you can help me solve these questions,

    Ha ha, i vape and have looked at mine many times and thought it would work well as a mini smoke machine! I would put that unit upright and run a pipe from the output though as very quickly the fluid levels will drop and half your wick will no longer be submerged.

    • @AndyRCchannel
      @AndyRCchannel  Před 2 lety

      The cars battery would run out before it started to do that. I do wonder though people don't vape with their heads facing down what I have observed. So surely this happens anyways? I did think about that but a pipe may restrict the airflow. People's lungs have a lot more power than a 5v fan but thx for the idea

    • @stevefox3763
      @stevefox3763 Před 2 lety

      @@AndyRCchannel some do vape that way and some dont, i keep mine as upright as possible as soon as the level falls below full for the reason i described.
      My vape is a SMOK, the same brand as you used but mine is the standardized 510 electrical socket for the tank but uses SMOK baby beast elements, mine has a 10mm port at the outlet end, adding a 10mm fish tank tube to mine would not really restrict it but the type of tank i have has its inlet on the sides of the base instead of the bottom like yours so would require a different design to make it work.
      I am super interested in the process of converting photos to things useable in 3D files, many times i have wondered if i could put something on my scanner and somehow use the image to generate templates for 3D printing designs, could you share the process or links to a guid or maybe even do a video on how you go about converting the images?
      I see your using Tinkercad, in two years of 3D printing, i still use Tinkercad, its so easy to use and although its not as capable as the other things out there its not brain exploding complicated like them!

    I don't think it's RC because you didn't put it on a drone. Make colored smoke.

      RC = radio controlled and that phrase has existed 80 years plus before drones exited. if you watch 2:41 of the video you will see a drone producing green smoke.. something else that im working on. you can watch that full vid here: czcams.com/video/Jsd1E_uht7c/video.html yes thats me using a stabilized 360 cam in 2017 but how does the saying go. Pioneers leave with arrows in their back? haha. Now everyone's doing it as I predicted
