    Grab the Tamasii Stage Act 5 display stand to get more out of your purchase it. Search for it at www.bigbadtoystore.com/?ScorchedEarthToys and help this channel in the process.

      Have you tried the cheap ones available on Wish.com. They're dirt cheap and I have about 4 that seem to work fine with high metals. Perhaps inferior plastic? I've never had a tamashii so I was wondering.

    I love the VF-1D! So far it's the only Hi Metal R figure I have ever pre ordered. I get mine tomorrow... definitely looking forward to it. Especially after this review, it looks as good as I hoped it would. The only problem now is which mode to display it in.... But I think It has to be gerwalk/guardian just to show off the little Minmay.

    If you own the old Revoltech reguld, the stand for it also works with the HMR's, tho it's a limited stand, it is still works with it well, and easier to obtain than a HMR Reguld

    I have a VF 1D The legs are all metal the paint app on them wasn't the best but it does have a weathered look to it now.
    Which gives it a battle worn look
    I put it up on CZcams under
    VF 1D

    Very good review, just yesterday I just got my HI-METAL R VF-1D and is very good like others I have also HI-METAL R, that if, I do not recommend anything to buy a Toynami, the quality is very bad, those of BANDAI the quality is much higher than the toynami, the only toynami that I had sold it to buy a HI-METAL, and it is the best thing that I could do, since the YAMATO or ARCADIA besides being big are very expensive, but that's if the bands better

    Toynami are cool because they are cheap and it is awesome looking in my closet at 20 various colour schemes for VF-1s... But Bandai by far are higher quality...

      I'm grateful toynami has a line of less expensive toys. I love my collection.

    Is the left arm on a balljoint so it can be removed? If Minmay is in the cockpit, the arm should be missing.

    • @ScorchedEarthToys
      @ScorchedEarthToys  Před rokem

      You could remove the whole arm easily enough, but removing it so it looks like it was shot off just above the elbow would be hard.

    I wish the head tipped forward more than it does. Also, the left heel on mine doesn't want to rock back far enough either. I feel like I need to take it apart to see what's wrong.

    There are different sizes for the VF-1. Techincally the VF-1A/S share the same body only difference is thrust and power which are also produced in the same factory. The VF-1J used by Rick/Max/Myria are special class built by another comapny possibly in Japan or for junior squad leaders but the "J" designation is still not classified. VF-1D share the same body style of the VF-1A just the cockpit is dual and the thrust is reduced.

    Hello any news for figures from macross frontier or Delta coming out for the hi metal line?

    • @ScorchedEarthToys
      @ScorchedEarthToys  Před 4 lety

      Negative. In fact, most factories in China remain at 0 - 30% capacity so I don't expect any toy news until Fall. Even then, many toy companies will need to prioritize for lost production so this may be the year that only AAA licenses see any support (excluding items already in production when the virus hit). Bandai owns their factories and I understand they have a ton of automation so maybe they'll surprise me.

    Every time it transforms the airframe becomes weaker until eventually metal fatigue causes the robot airplane to disintegrate mid flight.

    Just asking, other than colour scheme, head shape and no of head lasers, what is the difference between the VF-1 variants?
    E.g. Vf-1D and Vf-1S

    • @LatitudeSky
      @LatitudeSky Před 5 lety

      The D variant is a two-seater trainer, while the normal Valkyrie variants are single-seat models. The D canopy and nose are slightly different from normal Valkyries. The Ostrich is also a two-seater and also has some of the McLaren Orange paint scheme but it has a nearly normal nose and canopy.

    • @MusicMatic707
      @MusicMatic707 Před 5 lety +1

      Elintseeker and Ostrich have different wings and the tails are smaller... The VF-1S are for Squadron Leaders, the VF-1J are for squadron 2nd in command and the VF-1A appear to be production models... Now Max and Ben both had variant colour schemes likely because they were supporting characters.

    Love your reviews man.
    I have a question about the HMR series. I find some of the heels do not go back enough to allow for a more aggressive gerwalk stance. On my 1D, my right leg heel only goes back enough for e leg to stand straight. Are there any tricks to get it to loosen up and go further back without breaking anything?
    Thanks!

    Is this sturdy enough for a kid?

    • @ScorchedEarthToys
      @ScorchedEarthToys  Před 5 lety +1

      Very tough to judge on that one. For a younger kid I would look for a 1/55 Bandai reissue (or, much more affordably, a knock off)

    • @MusicMatic707
      @MusicMatic707 Před 5 lety

      Heck no dude... Not for the price at least... I agree get a 1/55 Bandai or maybe a Joon's Valkyrie... I had one several years ago, a Korean company and not clean transformation, but definitely better than letting a kid possibly tear up a high quality Valkyrie.

    Seems anime collecting is down to five main stores, big bad toy store, entertainment earth, toynami, toywiz , and robotech
    Com if you going to include the greedy high prices on ebay and Amazon I just laughing how greed is destroying collecting

      I agree. I recently picked this up on Ebay used in 2024 for almost $200. I'm a fool but it was a better alternative than the one I really wanted; The DX 1/48 one with the air racer.
      I totally agree. The prices are crazy high. This toy for me should only cost 40-50 bucks MAX.
