A time where fans got mad at wrestlers for leaving WWE seems almost unfathomable now
The Hart vs McMahon match was just a shitshow and there was such an easy work around.
The Hart Dynasty was on the roster at this time. They should have had them, managed by Bret against a trio of Vince's hand picked heels. Grab three young heels, imagine the heat they'd get for attacking Bret at some point?
Vince can try and interfere near the end, Bret can can give him a wallop on the mouth and slap him in a sharpshooter to pop the crowd while his niece and nephews get the win.
Showcase then fresh stars, give us a resolution to the Hart/McMahon feud and at least a serviceable match.

They can't attack Bret. Well not really. He legally cannot take bumps. If he does, his insurance from the career ending injury he suffered will need to get paid back. He can't afford it.

The first "bizarre" WM match I can remember watching was the dumpster match at WM14.
I honestly respect the fact they did the sumo match. It was different, it was done as proper as you can do a sumo match (legit Yokozuna, judge etc) and I'm 99% sure it was a legit match. (So no surprise Akebono won if so) And give big Paul props for doing it.
I mean don't do it again but for a one off thing, I'm really OK with it.

When rick rude was in the wwe later on in his career he looked like Freddy mercury
Goldust vs Piper was actually my first ever Wrestlemania memory, as it's the first televised PPV I'd ever seen as a kid. xD
Honorable mention to Lawrence Taylor in a main event one on one match.

Ridiculous. McMahon made it a squash because he thought it was hilarious towards Taker. Originally they had 15 to 20 minutes with Taker training hard for it. I'd be furious if I was Taker.

yokozuna and earthquake had a sumo match in the 90s as well.
Funny enough earthquake was a legit sumo and could've actually been a yokozuna. But in order to climb the ranks and get there he would had to have his tattoo remove so he turned to wrestling

the boneyard and firefly funhouse matches need to be on a redux of this list... and i thuroughly enjoyed both of them.
I love the blindfold match from WM VII
I always thought people were unfair the Lesnar at WM 20. He was basically the opposite of a sell-out. Turning down a multi-year multi million dollar guaranteed contract for a *chance* at making the Minnesota Vikings at the NFL minimum shows that he clearly wasnt doing it for money
People weren't booing Brock for being a sellout, they were booing him for seemingly taking a dump on the business and getting paid for the privilege of doing so. Obviously there was more to his decision than disinterest but from the outside it looked like Lesnar didn't care about wrestling and there's only one way that plays out in front of a crowd of, y'know, *wrestling* fans.
Ah yes indeed, every match should be seasoned with just the right amount of Steve Austin, hahaha!

People don't appreciate Big Show vs Akebono for the amazing spactacle that it was. You will never see two bigger athleted than that compete again in history.

@@OfficialFingazMC He's straight up punching Goldust in the skull, they wanted that shit to look real, so just hit each other. It was weird going from something that intense, to the dumb OJ chase footage, then to the goofy shit in the ring. Would've liked it better if they kept the intense tone and had them tear up ringside to beat the shit out of each other. Pity really.
