I love Alice Hoffman’s witchy books of course. Also the spell book of the lost & found by Moira Fowley-Doyle is a fave of mine also. Her books are quite witchy and atmospheric. The Sweep series is older witchy YA series by Cate Tiernan. Ive heard These witches don’t burn is similar to it. Shea Ernshaw writes some witchy & atmospheric books as well. 🖤

my favourite witchy book is sea-witch by never angeline nørth, it is a very strange piece of experimental and almost ritualistic writing. i think that you would really enjoy of sorrow and such by angela slatter, it is beautiful written and has such an intense witchy atmosphere (+ the main character is a witch and medicine woman/healer). it is also short and has a gorgeous cover so that is always a plus ✨

My favorite literary witches are Granny Weatherwax and the other witches in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, and my favorite story line is the YA subseries Tiffany Aching books. I also liked Gregory Maguire's Wicked and Son of a Witch. I could name more but I'll leave it at that.

Your video is so detailed. You gave me a few ideas for my next reads!
I love your face paint. It reminds me a lot of a character I wrote! My debut novel, 'Pharmakides', features a reimagined Hekate, who has an upturned crescent on her forehead. She is the Pharmakides of the Dark Side of the Moon with the 'horns of the mood' as Ovid would say. The title, 'Pharmakides', is an ancient Greek word for witch and there is a glossary at the beginning.

I loved the Diviners I only read book one, but I want to continue reading the series. I also love The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. I am in the middle of re reading the 2nd book so I can FINALLY read the last book. I just recently read a great middle grade called The Witches of Willow Cove by Josh Roberts. An ARC I just finished was Black Witch Magic by Mila Nicks which comes out the 30th of this month. It is a paranormal romance. I gotta go with a 90s classic and that is a series called Secret Circle by L.J. Smith (same author as Vampire Diaries) The Spellbook of Katrina Van Tassel: A Story of Sleepy Hollow by Alyssa Palombo. One book I want to read is Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman which is the prequel to Practical Magic

I'd recommend Euphoria Kids by Alison Evans ! It was a very easy read, probably best suited to younger teens but pretty wholesome for older people too. It follows three friends exploring magic, with a couple characters being self-proclaimed witches. It has great exploration of gender, and how having a support system can help you understand your identity ( I do believe the author is non-binary too). I will admit, it isn't the highest of quality books- I think that Alison had a clear idea of what they wanted to tell but sometimes didn't fully explain the concepts they had in their head so it definitely could've done with some extra editing and revision- but I hold it near and dear to my heart nontheless. AND it's set in australia which is a huge plus for me because that made it feel so much more relatable to my own experiences.
TLDR: If you're looking for a quick, one day, wholesome read about some trans friends and their magick adventures, i would definitely recommend.

It’s one of my favourite themes as well! My favourite witch book is definitely A Discovery Of Witches by Deborah Harkness because I love the characters and the plot. It’s got vampires, daemons and ghosts in it as well but there’s a focus on witches as that’s what the main character is, though she doesn’t want to be...
Also the Wicca series by Cate Tiernan. I’m planning to reread that or at least book 1 over Halloween this year. I’m currently reading the 5th Harry Potter book for the first time so that counts as well!

Love the gorgeous fluorite tower you have. I have been a tarot reader for a couple decades now. I think you might like the Enchanted Forest Tarot (by Lunea Westherstone). The book that comes with it is very user friendly.
Adored Witches of Ash and Ruin based on your recommendation. Really wanting to read Circe and your other recommendations. We read the series A Discovery of Witches. I liked the ideas but wasn't a fan of the writing style (Harkness is a history prof and it shows!), but the TV series is fun.

Witches of Ash and Ruin seems soooo good! And I can't wait to read Circe and The Bear and the Nightingale 💕 I loved The Year of the Witching, but found the very ending (like, the last bit of the last chapter and the epilogue) a bit disappointing. The Wren Hunt sounds like something I'd enjoy; added it to my list. I love the Raven Boys, and Blue's family is my one of my favorite parts of it too. One that I recently read and quite enjoyed was The Lost Coast, by Amy Rose Capetta. It's very witchy, very atmospheric, very whimsical and very queer!

Yeah Winternight rep! haha I'm really excited that The Once and Future Witches just got available at my library, but I'm so intimidated by the lenght of it (reading it on my phone too, it's 1000+ pages...) Whatever happened to Sorcha? Is she not witchy enough? I'm barely half-way through Daughter of the Forest, but she seems a good enough green witch to me. Or am I too loose in my definition of a witch?^^
If you say you're interested in witchcraft etc. , have you read any non fiction related to that? I love reading about goddesses and the moon cycle. I'd recommended for that Moon Energy by Stephanie Lafranque (translated from French), there's so much about some of that folklore.
