I loved this mini series. The story, art and characters were great. It basically increased my love for Tangle and Whisper even more.
This makes me want a continuation of the mini-series format. We could get two or more character teaming up to solve a problem outside of the main issues' story. I can already imagine some combinations for potential stories:
- Silver and Whisper (Since Issue 8 showed Silver admires Whisper's acts during the war)
- Tails and Amy (We dont get a lot of these two interacting together)
- Knuckles and Rouge (We have seen how these two interact. A miniseries with them can provide some nice development and laughs)
- Blaze and Marine (just to see how they are doing in their dimension)
- Dr Starline and Mimic ( If Starline becomes his own villain, he could free Mimic and recruit him.)
- Sonic and Tangle (Both of them LOVE adventure. It would be nice to see these two doing some adventuring together)
I can see a Blaze and Marine mini-series, if only we encounter some funny but loyal characters who can see Blaze more than a princess (and I want to see Cpt. Whiskers and Johnny again), and for the villain duo, maybe we can see them after the Metal Virus saga, where Starline decides to be his own villain and tries to recruit Mimic.
THAT would be cool but I doubt anything would top this miniseries. Although I think that won't stop IDW from trying.
Those are all really good ideas, hope to see them in the future.
Nice. The only change I would make is an Amy & Cream mini-series. Mainly because SEGA has neglected this dynamic duo; Team Jubilee.
Well, looks like my Starline and Mimic idea is coming true. Only difference is that the Skunk Bros and Zavok are joining too

Indeed, like two sisters. Not to mention the character development that occured throughout.
Though, I still think Mimic should have died for his crimes to even things out. Yet, I can respect that their are some lines, even for characters like whisper, that they just can't cross

This is a really nice miniseries. I’m happy that Tangle and Whisper grew closer together and worked together to stop Mimic.

I am glad that Whisper was able to confront her past, but I feel like their is still one she needs to confront. That being Shadow once the whole Metal Virus saga is done. Cause remember, it was Shadow androids that killed her teammates, not just Mimic. And it kinda tells me that Whisper & Shadow are either gonna be on a adventure together later down the road, or in a spin off comic.
But Shadow had nothing to do with it. Thats why she tells Tangle she has no revenge for him
I don’t think Whisper would, consider a team up as, He’s all about being edgy and wanting to end Eggman. For everything game wise up to forces and now the metal virus 🦠 and Whisper probably won’t wanna, see a ghost if you know what I mean, she probably would rather spend her days as a spy.
Oh boy, I just remembered that Shadow killed Infinites gang, which led to a war, which led to Whispers team dying. Now that, would be an interesting plot point.
I love how they just gave up on subtly & had Slinger do Ocelot's finger guns & "You're Pretty Good" quote.
Tangle and Whisper are quite a good duo, especially with this series.
Personally, Whisper should have killed Mimic after what he did. He is quite literally a scumbag, but I understand the storytelling and the fact there are some lines people just can't cross.
But, I LOVE the character development in this miniseries. Tangle learning from her mistakes and Whisper letting go of her past. If I do get the IDW Miniseries, it will be from the app.
Who do you imagine Mimic sounding like? To me I imagine hearing Steven Jay Blum's voice of Roger Smith mixed with a little of Starscream.
An incredible mini-series - nothing more to say.
This issue showed how weak Mimic really is, not in terms of strength nor skill, but in terms of self-surviving. He only wanted to live, and he serves those who are strong.
True. I was surprised he could take out both Whisper and Tangle individually. But the issue is he doesn't play around. Twice he tried to end it quickly and was interrupted both times.
He is pretty dangerous compared to someone like Rough and Tumble.

I get the feeling we might get side series like how we did with Sonic Universe in the Archie Sonic Comics.
Well, IDW is doing something like that for the Transformers comics (Transformers Galaxies), so I see no reason why they wouldn't do the same for the Sonic series.
But WHAT KIND of Sonic series would it be though?

So did I! I thought they had made a mistake and mistakenly put Whisper on the cover of the third issue instead of Mimic.
Tangle & Whisper VS Mimic really reminds me of Sanji's fight with Mr. 2. Both fights involves the hero dealing with a shape shifting bad guy, but the latter fight was far more violent than the former.
So many MG references! All that's missing is a robotized snake character who doesn't like Sonic for some reason!
And pretty much say it to Otacon.

It was a nice issue.
I am not a big fan of too much drama in Sonic comics but at least it was a nice distraction compare to the main comic series.
I'm really glad they didn't end it on a cliffhanger with the villian escaping or bring up anything connected to the Metal Virus saga.
IDW does this thing called micro series where a series of bigger book focus on a certain character then when the next comes out it focus on another character. I’ve read their ninja turtles ones and fun fact Ian Flynn wrote Mikey’s solo book and their pretty darn good so I’m hoping for something like that with the game characters next time.
All this time I thought they only did that for My Little Pony. I had just gotten started getting into the new MLP comic book series at the time it had just finished making the first 4-issue story arc.

True Blue Reviews your video summary’s are as always amazing on sonic media. This issue shows the literally potential that a Sonic forces could have had we could have had recruited in the war who were fighting Eggman with whispers tactics of sabotage and saving innocent lives and sending them on missions or even playing as them like you have suggested. Also am I the only one who would find the possibility of a canon official team Whisper, Tangle and Jewels facing off with mimic as he is trying to take out the other heroes.
If Mimic SOMEHOW escaped,do you think Tangle and Whisper should warn the Restoration on what he's capable of? After all they had the experience to back it up.

I wouldn't have minded if Whisper killed Mimic. I can see her be okay afterwards, with the knowledge he won't hurt another person.
Like Shadow wanted to do with Eggman. If he wasn't Mr. Tinker...
But... ah well. Its still a good comic.
I had to wait until I get all 4 issues of this miniseries in order to read the whole story without having the hassle of waiting in suspense to see what happens next and it was completely worth it! Nice work IDW;keep up the good work! :D
Is it wrong of me to imagine Yang and Blake taking on Adam from RWBY Volume 6? Because I can't get the thought of that AND "Nevermore" out of my head every time I check out the final battle between Tangle,Whisper and Mimic.
I was expecting this to be a great solo miniseries for Tangle and Whisper and I was not disappointed one bit. It had everything. Action,comedy,drama,a perfect balance of light and dark,teamwork and heartwarming moments of friendship. I don't think I haven't seen a satisfying Sonic comic miniseries since the Tails 3-issue miniseries back in the 90s. After this adventure,I would say the Bonds of Friendship between our heroines just grew a little stronger.

Tangle and Whisper are indeed like a brookie,two favorite treats in one. For now,that was the best Sonic IDW miniseries ever. It's starting to become harder and harder not to read this every week.
So what happend to mimic in the metal virus saga? Is he a zombot ?
After this adventure,I'd say the Bonds of Friendship between Tangle and Whisper just grew a little stronger.

is it me or does whisper suffer alot in the latest issues? I mean losing your comrades because an asshole betrayed you and losing your new friend to a metal virus tends to screw your mind.

Not gonna lie, this finale felt a little underwhelming and anti-climatic, considering what came before this issue, I expected a little more. The miniseries was good overall, but the ending though... Could've been better

It is either too kidy or too dramatic. God, this series' tone is shapeshifting more than Mimic.
I'm really sorry to inform but the Zoobot arc ain't ending anytime soon. We're going into 2021 with this as far as sales and release date goes.

Infinite is not coming back anymore, because Sonic and his friends killed him at the end of Sonic Forces.

While I have to say that this mini series remains far better than the main book so does it still have many flaws.
So because Megabeatman pretty much said almost all that is positive about the issue already would I now like to point out a few continuity errors if not down right plotholes from which at least 1 negatively effects the main book,
So lets start with issues that come do to the events that happened in the main book.
For one Why does Eggman have so many drones to send together with Mimic I mean didn't he complain to Starline that he was running low on minions but the zombot virus is going to fix that problem for good?
And for that matter as I already said in my comment to the previous issue why would Eggman even care for any of this given that we are in the middle of the Zombot arc (he didn't even pull the trick on mimic that he did for Rough and Tumble with the zombot virus containers.
Than would there be the issue that at the end Tails is just casually at his workshop despite the fact that the Zombot virus thing is right now going on and that he really should get his shit together to cure it so why seams everything so casual at the end with him just casually imprisoning him and calling the copes to bring him into a prison when there should have all hands full with containing a zombie apocalypse.
(and before anyone says anything yes we do know all of this happens parallel to the zombot story because Wispers and Tangles meeting in issue one of the mini was shown on creams map in the middle of the zombot story)
Next for a few mini internal problems the main one obviously being that Mimic is so over the top Evil and in case you wounder why this is a problem its because
A)Wisp are suppose to be able to tell if someone is virtues or not
And
B)Because the Diamond cutters literally had a Psychic on the team AKA someone that should be able to imminently tell if someone is truthful or not so while it would be one thing if she ignored her bad feeling when someone that was a true friend to her betrayed her is it inexcusable with someone that was never truly friends with them something she should have been able to tell.
and a second but far smaller issue why did Cube just now decided he can't kill a man when he had absolutely no problems when Wisper tried to do the same thing last issue?
And now just 2 small thing I personally don't like
1)Wisper just casually destroying one of Eggman's mega-size-Buzz-bombers because it makes her out to be ridiculously strong especially given that the last time we engaged one of them we needed a team up of Sonic, Blaze and Tangle to destroy it.
2)Tangles speech about how killing isn't okay and its not that I don't thing its in character for Tangle no no no she seams to be this kind and naive to hold this position. The issue I take with it is that for one Wipser doesn't even try to argue with her about it and just accepts Tangles morals despite the massive reasons she has to hate him and second I hate the whole "you will be as bad as him" line of reasoning because by this logic is every person that killed in self defense as bad as school shutter or mass murderer. And while I know this reasoning is common in Comics is this a heavily game based version of Sonic and there are just so many examples in Sonic were our characters were Okay with killing that I really would have liked it if Wisper and Tangle had a more developed talk about the topic (especially given that this comic started right were Forces ended a game in which Shadow quite causally kills 4 dudes (no seriously Infinites old Team members all died to shadow the Japanese scrip is there very clear with this))
But this is anyway just part of a bigger issue I have with Wispers Character usage so far that she is way to quick to just do what other characters tell her to despite her backstory giving her every reason not to blindly follow orders and listen to others given that this is what killed her friends that blindly trusted someone that turned out to be a traitor.
Unrelated, but can someone please tell me when the zombot arc is going to end? It's becoming really boring lately.
