996s are hated for a number of reasons, most prominent of which was the headlight design. This 2001 is a facelifted model, so the yellow/orange indicator lights on the pre facelifted models were ditched, which makes the front end look better. Secondly it was the first water cooled Porsche 911, which most Porsche purists hate. To them, it's air cooled or nothing. Those are the same people who hated both the Boxter and the Cayenne when they came out.

I have a 1999.1 Carreras4 cabriolet. Really good car. A classic in my opinion. Mine has just under 30K miles. The diffuser will keep the wind out of your hair, BTW.

My 02 carrera 4 has the 3.6

The 996.1 had a 3387cc flat six, so 3.4l, not 3.6l.

This car is pre-facelift so it comes with 3.4l engine and no cupholders ;)
