As a plumber, it's a preference thing now if you got well water use plastic! If you're in the city, use brass, but good work at the end of the day. You're a better plumber because boston Plumbing or New York has no tanks,lol
Here in Montana, we have to use a heat gun to install Uponor, if our contractors don't heat the building... Rahau sucks because the gun always fails in cold weather... we don't use crimp because it's not full port...
Everyone pretty much uses the crimp clamps around here, but I don’t think you can use them on plastic fittings, you can, but I think it will eventually leak
Could have taken a little more time and pride with the electrical connection and used a simple romex connector nut. I know your not an electrician but leave it better than it was.
FYI they make a tank tee for the expansion tank with a union built right in it for future replacement

Rehau. We rough houses in 10 degrees for most of year. You can air test as soon as you put the fitting on.

Crimp rings work great. I bought the expansion tool but it is garbage compared to crimp.
