      thx man, I will put this guy to the test as I like to portray it more. Kinda dropped off my arsenal after the Purple Round reel fell on my lap lol.

    Jim, when threading with machined parts rotate in the opposite direction for the parts to align to the first thread. You will feel the threads aligning. Voila' !! easy peasy! you can do it with your eyes closed!

    To be honest…I can‘t see the need for such an upgrade. The cc bfs is capable of casting 2 grams easily (maybe someone with more sophisticated casting skills may cast even 1 gram without effort) with its stock spool. From a fishing perspective it’s not much of a difference casting 1 or 2 grams (maybe with the exception of this ridiculous 1g trout magnet fetish). So why should I increase the already high cost of the reel with an unnecessary spool?

      If a reel works for you out of the box, that's awesome! But if not, there's options rather than getting rid of it and getting something else. The market is vast for those who wanna fine tune or just buy things that works for em! Have a great day

    My daiwa geggibijin has roro rx22 mg spool cast 1 gram a long ways with no effort.

      @rawrfishing  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I got that! I do like my Daiwa reels much better for sure... Especially with that Roro spool!
      I don't think the dynamic braking is helping much on distance when it comes to Shimano bfs reels. I upgraded a few and.. I dunno... I would either like more bfs Daiwa spools dynamic to fiddle.. But so far.. Roro been amazing in all my Daiwa reels!
      Whats your experience?

    Hello Mr rawr fishing! Do you feel like this spool would be a good upgrade for someone who mainly throws 1-3g lures on their conquest? I fish for pan fish and bass.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@ismaelvallejo6832 hmmm... are you currently having trouble with the lures now with the stock spool? Shimano advertised this reel to handle 1 gram. While I feel it's not good at 1 gram, this reel definitely made it a bit better. But I think you should watch my cast testing video and see if it's something that may help you and your fishery.
      Im my opinion, there's better reels to handle sub 1 gram, but if it's slightly above 1 gram and heavier, stock spool can do it already

      @@rawrfishing my heaviest lure is 1.1g but I throw a lot of 1.5g an I just can get any distance or accuracy. Maybe it’s just a practice thing. My distance and accuracy throwing 2.5g is exceptional. My rod is an ultralight 6’3” and I’m using .6 gou 8lb braid. I really appreciate the response!

      Potentially your Tension set too high or brakes are set too high. Their silent tune o ring makes it difficult for one to adjust the tension properly as one can't tell how loose the spool is. But try loosening it. There's other reels that casts better than this reel, like the Ark Gravity bfs reel. No matter what upgrade for the Conquest, ark still wins as stock for lures that are light

    Great video as always man. 👍🏽
    What BFS reel would you recommend for versatility from Shimano and from Daiwa? Which of those would you pick? It would be used for trout/bass fishing, casting from 1g and up. (1g capability is pretty important)
    Thanks in advance 😺👍🏽

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thx.
      Pretty much both brands that sports 28mm spools would do 1 gram.
      I feel that Daiwa is better for the lighter lures... So I'd shoot for the alphas air, gekkabijin over the new Aldebaran/conquest bfs.

      @avocato2829 Před 4 měsíci

      @@rawrfishing Thanks for the reply. And wow, that’s surprising… you’re the first person who recommends those Daiwas over those Shimanos. I know both the aldebaran and the conquest are considered to be the best bfs reels out there.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Před 4 měsíci

      I don't agree as the new Shimano reels got quirks for me. Their clutch thumb bar get stuck often, not even during winter...
      The brakes are weaker too, which means if u switch lures a lot, could take a bit to tune. But I am not a fan of them going to smaller spools. Should have stuck with bass fishing or create a new line without changing their bass reels into all rounders.

    • @avocato2829
      @avocato2829 Před 4 měsíci

      @@rawrfishing Yes, I heard the brakes are supposed to be weaker. Shimanos usually always have weaker brakes and cast further. I’m a Daiwa guy, but some people even say Daiwas are “over-breaked”. And the thing I heard about the Alde and the Conquest is that you DON’T have to adjust very much. So, I’n not sure.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Před 4 měsíci +1

      While Daiwa reels are over braked, it can be tuned. Older Shimanos, u can take magnets off.. New one.. It is what it out of the box.. All magnets are fixed onto it.

    Jimbo did you know that Gomexus is making spools for the Gekkibijin? I’ve hunted for the RoRo spool for the Gekkibijin and every place I’ve seen they are out of stock. What would you suggest for that reel now? And do you know if the Diawa Steez CT SV would fit the Gekkibijin?

      oh cool! They didn't go into details, but they said they are focused on Japanese reels in Japan for now. They said a few reels and I did tell them to do Alphas Air TW/Gekka platform cuz of the PX was gonna come out in the US. But I didn't know when they will have it available. Hope to see it soon so I can play with it for yall!
      Not sure about the steez. spool diameter for the AATW and those on the same platform is 28mm

      So it all depends what you mean by worth it. If you must have the Conquest BFS reel as your UL trout reel, you definitely will see performance. In my opinion, Daiwa reels are much better, especially for the 28mm spool reels. The upgrades on Daiwa reels performs pretty sexy.
