how has this been out for 2 months already and I haven't seen it?? I'm a huge fan of atsuovers work and this song is my favorite and actually got me into trigun and after finally being able to watch it stampede is my favorite anime and even show of all time (my gf really likes it too)
ok just actually finished it and this is great was thinking making a whole animated music video as the original Mr gunman but you basically beat me to it lmao (also wolfwood and vash are the 2 best characters and wolfwood is the most badass character in all fiction along with Hank j wimbleton fight me)

I never really gave the Trigun remake a chance.
I didn't like how it opened, revealing parts of the story the original kept secret to reveal later... and I didn't like Vash's dumb, modern, pretty boy haircut, lol.
The whole point of his stupid grass-like hair in the original was to make him more of a looney-tunes character, a silly little guy that somehow manages to cartoon-logic avoid death, a boy you think is funny but don't take too seriously. He is the comic relief...
...until you finally see him with his hair down for the first time, and suddenly he looks human. You see him with his hair down and his shirt off and his smile gone and it is IMPACTFUL.
You realize that every day he puts his hair up on purpose. He puts his smile on on purpose. He darts about like daffy duck on purpose. He is METICULOUS and determined.
The newer anime erases that by revealing too much of his backstory too early on, and making him 'pretty and human' from the beginning for the sake of... sex appeal, probably. Day 1 figure and poster sales. If wash was a woman they would have given him bigger tits, too to go with his slick drip and kpop haircut.
But seeing this AMV...? Man, the 3D animation really does look good. Its GORGEOUS. I'm sure it tells the story decently enough, even if I don't like some of the changes... I should really give it a fair go.
Please give it another try if you are able to! Despite the changes it captures the soul of trigun really well. You have a point when it comes to how 98 created the difference between vash in the outside and in the inside but Stampede does that too in its own way. I really recommend it.
You definitely need to just drop your preconceptions and give it a shot.
