May we all understand and know the will of The Lord in our day. This is a wonderful discourse, so much to look forward to.
I have a special appreciation for the early leaders and saints of this church. They KNEW. Why on earth would they (or we for that matter) face SO much persecution if it were not for the fact that we know it is true and cannot turn from it? We can only invite all to investigate for themselves. It is only pride (out of Satan's toolbox) that would prevent anyone from honestly and humbly seeking to know the truth of it. I enjoyed Parley Prats (Orson's brother) biography and many other biographies of early church leaders and history...Happy, faithful people!

I am definitely a heartland theorist. I think it was a disservice a lot of leaders were about S. America's, when J. Smith never presumed it was. Any time it was mentioned, he always referred to the Native Americans.
True. I had heard it explained once, that it made more sense from descriptions, that Lehi and family more likely landed in Florida. I'm sure that'll receive push back from people, yet its much more plausible.

@rockingrogershomestead "Theory" is the correct word. Too many people in an almost spiritual blindness fail to comprehend there are differences between revelation/doctrine and ideas/opinions. Prophets do have ideas and opinions too, theyre not dictators where every word is law, they wouldnt want to be.
Theres also acceptable differences between the Religious side of the Church and the Corporate side. Few can distinguish all these without it damaging their testimony. As a whole, we are spiritually fragile in the wrong ways too often. A tree without any wind it whole life quickly breaks and falls down in its first storm. Whereas a tree raised in wind and storms appears to barely move when gusts of wind blast past it. The coddling and season of preparation is quickly ending. The storms are already building. Something as simple as an incorrect opinion is all thats needed to sway many.
Wayne May, in his CZcams videos, reminds us there is a north 30th parallel, as well, making their landing in Florida. Along the Crystal river is one of the earliest sites of civilization that could be Lehi's family, complete with mounds and apparently a primitive temple. This is often attributed to Mayans, however, by secular archeologists. And Joseph was in hiding when the the Times and Seasons printed the south America theory without his approval or signature. Fact is that the Sac, Fox and Ojibwa tribes have the unique DNA haplo-marker identifying them as Hebrews. Likewise, the Cherokee have an oral tradition that their ancestors escaped (their word) from a place across the ocean called Masada.
By the way, the characters that were sent to Charles Anthony for authentication can still be read by the Hochunk of the MicMac tribe in Canada. Joseph is vindicated in so many ways.
