    Just ordered a set of Glimmerglass filters and I can't wait to try them out. I really like how subtle the look is. You can tell there's something different about the photos but if you didn't know there was a filter on the lens it would be hard to pinpoint. Your shots a great too BTW!

    I love the Glimmerglass 1. Use it on all my Nikkor lenses! Jumped on the Black pro mist hype but never liked the skintones. Glimmerglass is more subtle and keeps the skintones clear with just the right amount of blooming highlights. Only time the 1 gets too much is imo reflections in metal. Otherwise it’s awesome, for sure the best diffusion out there.
    A lot of good shots in this video! Really like the colors of ultramax!

      Agree on the subtleness. I really liked the Cinebloom from moment too, but felt like I was really make a creative “choice” every time I put it on. Love the look of this one and that it doesn’t overtake skin tones and desaturate or lose too much contrast.

      @crabicurious  Před rokem +3

      Thanks! Yeah almost all the shots that don't show the X100V were shot on the X100V... After A LOT of trial and error over the years, I've learned the limits and use a variety of techniques for relatively stable video 1) sometimes I do lean it on something 2) I can shoot handheld and use Warp Stabilizer in Premier as long as I'm standing still 3) I can do simple pans 4) I completely avoid any walking-while-shooting video as at that point Warp Stabilizer cannot compensate. None of these shots used Gimble nor tripod

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Před rokem

      Yeah I think its just right. The difference between this one (the 1) and the Cinebloom 10% is that with the Glimmerglass I felt it more subtle and even I could shoot it in a certain way if I didn't want too soft or too washed out a look.

      Those are the only simulations available on your camera when shooting in full Auto mode. If you shoot in something like aperture priority, you get them back.

    One question
    Are these straight untouched JPEG by In-Camera Film Recipe, or that are RAWS made on that film recipes colours (?) and slighty edited in lightroom?
    There are different names under your photos: "Fujifilm simulation" / "In-Camera Film Recipe", I guess, the first named "fuji simulation" are your presets based on your taste to fuji "look-a-like", and "in camera film recipe" are just jpeg with fuji built in colours?

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah exactly the film recipe are the hard baked in jpeg settings made in camera. I didn’t make any additional edits in Lightroom on the film recipe ones
      Film simulation is the camera raw profile and thus is the raw file. Some slight tweaks made in Lightroom.
