    Another option is to find a local body shop, or a mechanic - any business that works on cars - and ask them to order parts for you from Tesla. They will need to create an account with Tesla (it may take 2 weeks to get approved) and Tesla will ship parts directly to them. Offer them a nice tip this service.

    Being a Bmw owner, parts catalog, wiring diagrams, repair manuals and everything you need is avaleble online, diagnostic software is easy to get and use with a cheap cable. In my country i have 3 different part stores that sells orginal parts so getting parts is really easy, at the same time i can buy cheaper parts from different countries.
    The point with all this is that im hesitant to buy a Tesla as im so used to have all this info avaleble. I fix my own cars so thats a big deal. The fact that they actually have a parts catalog is pretty nice! But would be nice if prices was avaleble there also.
    Would be really cool with a video with prices for shockabsorbers/air suspension (doesnt the X has air susp.?), brake parts and different suspension parts, just to show what it will cost to maintain it if you do it your self!
    Im starting to get a bit interested in a X.. But im really not sure, i do love my bmw's.. 😛

    After that part, it took me to service center appointment. They cancelled it and then moved appointment to internal bodyshop. Do you just pick up the parts from there or do they send it to you?

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před rokem +1

      I just pick up the parts from them. They set it up as a service appointment, but they'll push the dates until the part actually arrives. Once the appointment is confirmed and doesn't move that means the part has arrived and you can just go pick it up whenever.

      Wow thanks. I will try again. Not sure why they moved to bodyshop

      @@stevenkim1323 can I ask what part you’re trying to buy? It never hurts to include in the service request that you only want to buy parts, no installation needed.

      Yes. I am trying to buy a hood and trunk. First service center cancelled my request and when I ordered again, sent me to a Tesla- approved body shop, who said they thought I wanted them to do it. They had no clue about how individuals ordered. But after your comment, ordered again and selected a different center. Just got reply from the service center they have ordered and will contact me when they are ready! You’re fantastic!!!

    You only find out the prices when you pick up the parts at the service center? Or is there a way to see prices prior to submitting the order request?

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před rokem +7

      They send you an invoice with the prices of all the parts first. Just like a regular service appointment, you have to approve the invoice before they move forward with ordering the parts.

    The most important part has been skipped thru. After u send the "Something else" service request, what then? They quote u prices and u agree and they charge u first, then get the parts at the nearest service location and tell u when they are ready? Or deposit? Or how?
    I did it once for a drive unit oil filter. They message back saying they don't sell parts.

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před rokem

      They send you a pdf quote for the price of all the parts. Just like a regular service request, you have to e-sign and agree to pay before they order the parts. Once they arrive at the service center, you can pick them up and pay for them through the app. No deposit required.

    Any external body part that is painted is not over the counter. I damaged the skull cap and I could get an unpainted one but they could not give it to me in the red trim. I suppose that is expected but...

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před rokem +1

      That’s good to know, I’m really surprised they wouldn’t give you a painted one.

    Hello, thanks for sharing! I need to buy front bumper and fender, but I need to ship the parts outside USA. If I order the parts with the app, do you know if I can organize a shipping company to pick up parts in Tesla service center?

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před rokem

      You may be able to. I think it may depend on the service center. Sometimes they like you to pay before you pickup, sometimes I've had them tell me to pay at pickup. That may be tricky. Are you needing to buy the parts for a Tesla not made in the US? If so, I would highly advise checking the part number on the Tesla parts site to ensure it will be compatible with the vehicle. I don't know what parts are different for vehicles made in other countries. If you can, I would try to buy the parts from the region in which the car originated from (i.e. Germany for Europe or China for Asia).

    This is awesome! But if it says, "Over the Counter" does that mean I can't buy it? It's just a window regulator.

    • @marriedwithteslas
      @marriedwithteslas  Před 11 měsíci +1

      If it says over the counter you can buy it. When it’s restricted it’ll say “Tesla Only”
