- In this episode, we present our Top 32 Mock Draft for the 2024 class! First, we break down the Top 10 with no surprises at #1 but with a RD going 2nd to Chicago and a dynamic winger going 4th to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Next, we look into the 11 to 21 range, featuring some big swings on upside like the Blues swinging on Eiserman, Sabres on Parekh, and Wild on Catton. Last, we wrap up the show with the 22 to 32 range, including many teams already eliminated from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, such as the Vegas Golden Knights who make a bet on Trevor Connelly, the Predators who continue their trend of going for maximum upside with Dean Letourneau, and the Toronto Maple Leafs who make true on their vow to prioritize physical playoff-style defenders by picking 6'3" RD E.J. Sharks trading up to 11 is really interesting. Especially if they get a Zayne Parekh.
My top 10 mock draft 1. San Jose: Macklin Celebrini, C, 2. Chicago Blackhawks: Artyom Levshunov, D, 3. Anaheim Ducks: Zeev Bium D, 4 Columbus Blue Jackets, Anton Silayev D, 5. Montreal Canadiens: Caden Lindstrom C, 6. Utah: Zayne Parekh D, 7. Ottawa Senators: Tij Iginlia W, 8. Seattle Kraken: Ivan Demidov W, 9 Calgary Flames: Beckett Sennecke, 10. Insert team Detroit trades to….Sam Dickinson.
Catton to the Wild, not sure. The Wild needs size up the middle but God only knows. Eiserman, Yukemchuk, Helenious, even Parekh have been rumored to MN. My dream pick would be Silayev but he’ll be long gone.
Mtl fan here, they will get a really good player no matter what. I trust Hughes and Gorton group. Its gonna be hard decision I'm sure, Demidov Lindstrom Buium Iginla Sennecke. Gonna be one of them i think
Yes! Eiserman would be an incredible pick for the Blues!
Rumors are that Anaheim might be interested in Sennecke, a right winger. Anaheim needs a right D or a right wing with size, why they would go for Silayev who is a defensive left D...time will tell. I agree, if Lindstrom is available, Montreal will likely take him !!!

Oh dear... it makes less than zero sense for the Blues to take Eiserman. They have young wing talent falling out of their ears, don't typically go in for empty calorie scorers and most importantly, desperately need D prospects. Every time someone has the Blues picking a winger, an ancestor cries.
Sennecke is going 3. Ducks value IQ and compete more than anything and are going to be swinging on upside their first 3 picks this year.

If Blackhawks pass on demidov it will be the biggest waste of a 2nd overall pick ever.
And yet they still passed.
Rating players properly has to be done first against the best competition and secondly even strength and THEN you break down the fine detail like who they were playing with their skating their smarts their shot etc etc.
Sadly we did not get to see much of any Russian players but we did see the rest of them a few in the WJC and others in the U18.What I saw told me that Iginla is at least not right now worthy of a top 10 pick.
I don't like hindsight reactions like people will later say I told you so with Iginla because you should NOT be picking on a hope n a prayer he improves we need to go on what we see right NOW.
Eiserman is an awful pick if you need a first line leader but an ok pick if you already have say 2 superstars and just want to add a shooter to complete your top line.The problem is that Eiserman is like Caufield a one dimensional player and imo those types are not good for the playoffs or for winning hockey they are only compliment players not leaders.
who gets Demidov ? Blackhawks. They will draft RD with their next few picks. Maybe its Yakemchuk (trade up) or Jiricek or Kleber or Emery or Mews or Elick. I wouldnt be surprised if Hawks took RD with their 2nd and 3rd picks in this draft.
Or the Canadiens will take him.

Connolly wasn't on the ice for the THREE goals in five minutes, I don't think you can pin the loss on him. US had four consecutive minutes at man advantage just before his penalty, and scored ZERO goals.

@@fantasticvoyage262 Not at all. I recognize the Blackhawks leadership valued Levshunov over Demidov. I just know it was the wrong decision. However, we had a good draft. Levshunov is good. Just don’t know if he was the best defenseman in the draft.
