When you keep using 4x 10" 500watt RMS subwoofers on a 1500 watt amp through a LC2 (at least they used a pro so the frequency response is less than 33Hz), I'd say that indeed it will sound the same 😂!
Of course truck cabins are acoustically challenged, especially when it comes to bass so that's not doing you any favors! Ports shouldn't be facing forward either, opening the back window (assuming it's a sliding rear) and I bet the bass gets noticable "louder"!
4 10s have just a small amount less cone area as 2 15s, the 2 things that matter to get louder is power and cone area! Double the cone area or double the power and you get twice as loud (measured 3db higher, +3db on the meter is 2x as loud..... Also the SPL db scale is not the same as the dbA scale (dbA is the common seen scale where over 85db starts to hurt human hearing. This is a very common misconception! According to dbA scale, a jet taking off is ~130db... My daily is 144db and my hearing is just fine 😮 what!?!)
JL amplifiers are good and all, they are a full bridge class D topplogy and are of their own proprietary design (can respect that at least). They have current limiting/regulated power supplies which is the reason they do the same power output at 1ohm and at 4ohm just the same..... But JL is a name drop no one cares about anymore..... All the price, zero to gain! Focal, I'm not even going down that rabbit hole of a joke!
Get some half decent components, I suggest neo, I'd challenge you to buy some recoil components (even the $50 echo series sound phenomenal for the price, but go SAM or RPM) get a DSP (I like Audison) get a Taramps smart 3,or a Korean 3-3.5k, high output alt (which you should already have.... But something tells me you don't....), 500F or 1000F cap bank (XS Power if you're fancy) 2 10" Sundown Xv3's, 4th order reflex (aka ported) cones facing forward and port either towards the passenger rear door or up the back wall on the passenger side (passenger side port will make it louder on driver side, hence why SPL competition rigs are ported driver side, because the meter goes on passenger side dash on the glass!) 4 channel amp of your choosing (pretty much any 4 channel that's pushing 75x4 RMS) and a half competent person to tune and it will sound better than what you got, guaranteed!....... bet it's cheaper too!
Audio control (nothing special, get a gravity gr-dbe, uses the EXACT same internal components and chip sets!), JL (sound great.... If it was 50% cheaper!) 'pretty' box (is a must but comes second!) factory speakers (are for the birds!) SHCA (wire quality👍 owner quality👎)
