    Let us know in the comments below - what are some strategies that you've used to improve your conversion rate?
    A few additional notes:
    - I've found that a typical Etsy conversion rate is currently between 1 - 3%, but this can vary by niche and product.
    - You can find lots of potential photo card design templates on Canva!

    I’m loving your channel because all of your content is so fresh, new, and updated for 2024! I opened my Etsy store a month ago but still only have my fake listing up (a stupid-expensive, plain white mug, because I definitely don’t want any orders on that, lol). I find I’m still at that stage mostly because I’ve watched hundreds of POD/Etsy videos over the past 6 months, which have turned out to be wildly outdated.
    This is likely because your channel seems to be pretty new, which is exactly where I’m at in terms of my POD/Etsy journey. And, I’m just guessing that your channel is really new, because you don’t yet have the subscribers that would reflect the amazing quality of your content.
    With that said, I really appreciate you and your channel, so thank you! I feel like I’ve found my ‘Goldilocks’ POD/Etsy YT source- not too big, and not too small… but just right for my needs! I’ve just subscribed. And even though I hope your channel grows as big as you want it to be, I feel like I will be growing right along with you!😊🙏

    I'm a Brit too and wondered how you handled returns given our distance selling laws in the UK. I noticed on one of your product cards in your video that your text said you didn't accept returns given that each item is printed to order. I had wondered myself whether 1) it was legal to do that and 2) whether people get upset if they can't return the item?

    • @EtsyDaniel
      @EtsyDaniel  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi there, nice to meet a fellow Brit!
      It's a bit of a grey area - there are some arguments for and against whether Print on Demand products classify as made-to-order items (Made-to-order items are exempt from the UK Returns law). If the item you sell is personalisable, meaning the customer can add their name to it for example, then this product does not qualify for the returns law, meaning it is legal to restrict the returns policy (which is primarily what I sell and do).
      Also worth noting that the majority of my target audience is based in the US, where they have more lenient returns laws. Where applicable, I do indicate in my listing descriptions that returns are allowed for EU and UK customers, in line with returns laws.
      Regarding if people get upset by this, I personally rarely have customers reaching out to me about returns. I think if you make sure to emphasise it throughout your shop (Policies, announcements, listing photos, listing descriptions), you're being crystal clear with the customer.
      With that being said, if the customer reaches out with a product fault (like a bad print job or defective item), then I will always provide a full refund or replacement.
      Hope this helps :-) Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Daniel, love your suggestions for upselling and telling our shop story. I've been doing several of your suggests and know that space in the photo section is valuable, so I stopped putting in the page on colours and use the Manage Variations tool in the listing set up which attaches the colour choice and the photo of that colour. It can also be done for sizes of mugs. I've got step by step notes on how to do the process if you would like me to give them to you, let me know. Thanks for your videos, they are very helpful. I also shared this video with another Etsy seller. 🙂

    So you use the color card to show the color options instead of showing lifestyle images for each color available?
    Or would you show each lifestyle shot as a different color?
    It's a greatt idea just want to be sure I get it right.

    • @EtsyDaniel
      @EtsyDaniel  Před 4 měsíci

      Good question! And yes, that's what I do. I personally do this so that I don't necessarily need to have a photo card dedicated to each color. Many buyers also like just being able to see all possible color options in one overview. This also depends on how many color options you're offering - so e.g. if you only have 3 colors, you could just include lifestyle photos of each.
      I also don't think there is a hard rule on how you do this. If you feel more comfortable providing shoppers with lifestyle photos of all colors, then you should try that out.
      Hope this helps!

    For social proof on a new product that hasn't made any sales yet can you use social proof from similar products? For example you showed selling a sweatshirt, if you have a new design on a sweatshirt that you haven't sold yet can you use social proof from another sweatshirt you have sold? I have been considering this idea but not sure if it can be done?

    • @EtsyDaniel
      @EtsyDaniel  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Good question!
      I think you definitely can use reviews from other products in different listings. You could, for example, title the card something like: “Hear what others have to say about my store” and then highlight your favourite reviews from across your store.
      I feel like as long as you’re being clear and not deceiving around this, it can act as valuable social proof 😊

    • @jacinta2707
      @jacinta2707 Před 4 měsíci

      While I am waiting to get sales on a product, I use reviews that others have made on that product that I found on the print providers website. I mostly use Printful and they have lots of reviews on each product. I am selective about the information I use and don't talk about the print job, just the quality and details of the product, to give the buyer more information like this - This T-shirt is great! It is light weight but solid quality! love it! This is the type of information they would get if they were holding it. I also don't want them to be surprised when they get it and give me a bad review. So I take the information that I am hearing over and over about the product in the reviews and share it.

    What would you say is a good conversion rate?

    • @EtsyDaniel
      @EtsyDaniel  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I don't think there is a definitive answer to this, but from what I've found and heard from others, the average conversion rate seems to be between 1-5%. This can however vary depending on the product, niche, and also the time of the year (e.g. my conversion rates are typically a lot higher around the Holidays, which makes sense).
      Hope this helps :-)
