The best version of “One more Try” is at Princess Diana’s concert of Hope. George did it in Gospel version. His back up singers n band were some of the best I have ever seen. Some of them stayed with him from the Wham days
This is one of my favorite songs of his! His voice and the writing... god it's beautiful. There's just so much emotion in this song and the concept of singing about a teacher of love and how detrimental it can be to lose that person; how it can keep u from ever wanting to love again. ugh so good. I love that at the end of each chorus he says "there ain't no joy for an uptown boy whose teacher has told him goodbye" and in the verses he talks about just wanting the relationship to end now if they're going to hurt him again, and how he's unwilling to go through that again... but at the end he changes the lyrics to "there aint no joy for an uptown boy who just isn't willing to try. I'm so cold inside. Maybe just one more try". He goes from saying "never again", to "ok maybe one more chance". I just think it's such an interesting progression. It's almost like throughout the song and going through all his emotions he's convinced himself to try one more time and not give up on love.
You can also hear the defeat at the end too. Like he’s fighting it throughout the song to let love in and try again, but at the end is hesitant due to the ‘maybe just one more try’ being dragged out because of the defeat he is feeling. heartbreaking
That note is probably the most beautiful and emotion felt note that exists !!

Hi Jimmy, I was wondering where the hell you were. George is always REAL. All of his music comes from his direct personal life, 100%. Jimmy, you have this right. You can listen to just about any song @ any given--time & It feels like he's singing just to you. He relates to whatever you're going through & that you are not alone. That's just part of George's Magic, just part! I guarantee he's got me & many others going through some really tough times. There are times when you celebrate with him, times when you fall in love with to his music, & many times,(if you are human), cry with him. And the next time you hear that same song It can make you feel a totally different way. NEVER, NEVER BORING, EVER! As far as the video & the entirety of the music was GEORGE, HIMSELF. George wrote, sang, arranged created, directed, produce It All. ALL! Every song he sang whether It be his, or a cover, he put his whole heart into It. Especially his own. that's why George really hits you where you live. George's songs take you through all the seasons of his life therefore he touches ours. I sincerely hope you do some investigating, & find out the man behind the music. You won't believe It. Yes, you will believe It because you'll hear It all in his music. Yet, you need to listen to his interviews. There weren't many because he hated them. But, You'll get to know along with his music the Beautiful man he was & still is. He will rock your world! Anyway, I need to stop, I could go on & on but you do need to find out some of this stuff on your own. LOL, My Friend. Don't stay away so long next time Okay! BK Suggestion, From the Oprah house in Paris. The Garner' Oprah house, The 1 st contemporary artist ever to play there-MY BABY JUST CARES FOR ME, & FEELING GOOD. This was his last concert tour. They put a plaque on a seat in honor of Mr. George Michael! That's really special, Don't you think? 🤐🎶🎤😎💖

He performed this on his worldwide live 25 tour which I saw at Madison Square Garden. It was breathtaking. He did the gospel version of this song with his backing vocalists on either side of him. It made me cry. To imagine that he could convey such emotion in a vast arena like that is something you can’t explain to others. You have to experience it. His vocals just shook the arena. I am so extremely fortunate I had the opportunity to see this man a few times before he passed. By far the best concert I’ve ever attended. I’ve been to hundreds and hundreds over my lifetime and this will always be foremost in my memory.

This kills me every time! Never was a huge George Michael fan in the sense that he wasn't always on repeat for me, but every time I hear him and when I saw him live in concert, he is always spectacular. Most of his songs are autobiographical. I only wish he came out of the closet and loved himself enough to still be around amazing us with that incredible instrument of his! Kissing a Fool, Jesus to a Child, Praying for Time, so many. He even did Chaka Khan's Aint Nobody in concert and smashed it!

Please listen to him sing careless whisper, never gonna dance again, father figure, freedom etc. there is an iconic video of George Michael and Elton John live at one of George’s concerts singing Elton John‘s Grammy winning song don’t let the Sun shine down on me. His vocals were astound you!!!! More George Michael! RIP George. Gone way too soon 😢

George's: vocals are superb as always but look at his performance in this video. The emotional drama in his face and voice. His whole body tells his story. He was the best. You should check out his live version of this song in the 1993 concert of hope.
