    Thank you for the review. I have the Dacmagic 200M and its predecessor the Dacmagic Plus. The 200M is definitely more revealing and has a better sound via the headphone output via my Senheiser HD600’s. The older Dacmagic plus is still very good just a bit warmer sounding.

    Thanks for the really humble & down to earth review of 200M. What interested me is pairing it with other gear which is of my level & not gear costing multi thousand $$ which I dont want to do, which for one I dont have time for & which may lead me down a rabbit hole. By the way I did not notice any problems with your microphone like another commentator (Underscores audio is subjective). But if I were you I will heed to his advice. I have Dacmagic plus & I am getting 200 M shortly. Thanks again.

    Great review. I have the original dacmagic. I think I've been enjoying it for more than 10 years. I stream through a pi with an Allo Digi one. The 200 is sort of in the mid price no man's land of DAC. Probably a small step up from the original. The addition of a headphone amp could make me lean towards that.

    I like this review, because it's honest and at the end of the day. IT'S A DAC and most likely sounds like other Dacs. Neutral.

    I can buy the cd transport and tha dac (both cambri…) and speakers and that is? Why I need the integrated amp?

    Thank you for your review!
    I've got a Cambridge Audio AXR100D (with 2 Klipsch bookshelf speakers) and it has of course an integrated DAC. Do you think adding the DacMagic would give me a good upgrade in audio quality?. (just scared it could have a similar chip(s) to the one already working in the AXR100D)
    Thank you! :)

      To be honest, I don’t know. It works really well but I wasn’t able to discern any noticeable sound signature. I would say save your money and just keep using the Dac you have.

      Thank you. Yeah I’m scared of buying the same chip in a different case 😝

      @@lucanon haha! Yeah, upgrading is tricky, it sounds like a cop out, but you really have to trust your own ears and then weigh the pros, cons and of course price. Your amp is pretty great already. If anything add a sub if you haven’t already. Subs are game changers.

      i also own the axr 100d love it but found it to be just a little bit to rolled off in the treble, as i own focal chora speakers it's a shame to not get what i wanted out of them,so my question was magic 200m or upgrade to le cx line
      so i decided to get the dac magic 200m and yes it does make a difference,much fuller bass better sound seperation and detail in the mid range, also opens the sound stage in depth. dont know if it is better than the cx 81 but yes you will hear a good improvement with the axr 100. but there are many other options out there and no all dacs do not sound the same;

    Please get a better microphone. If not bring your existing mic closer.

    This is not a true fully balanced DAC.
