    I bought a 5ive T last saterday and have 0.0 experience working on gasoline engines and RC cars in general. Today I followed your instructions and managed to install a killswitch. It took me over three hours, but in the end it works beautifully and I didn't run into any problems. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the procedure, you are a HERO!!!! Greetings from the Netherlands!🌷🌷🐄🐄

    I put mine on similiar button on my Rugged remote and have it set to On/Off that way I have control to turn it on and off. But of course that leads to sometimes forgetting that and needing to hit it to enable the engine. =) And nice install I didn't go to that extent. I took top plastic cover off and needle nose pliers and a small flathead screw driver you can pop the wire off the coil.

    These large scale gas powered RC should come with a remote kill switch from the factory. Smart of you to install one. Runaways can get expensive.

    Looks great Earl. Every day you post I get super excited that today is the day you will let that beautiful limitless come to my house. I'm chopping at the bit to own a car you built with basherqueen upgrades! That limitless will have an excellent life with plenty of pampering.

    Earl that looked like quite a lengthy job , also extremely complicated and some how you still made it look pretty easy. I’ve never worked on a 2 stroke but from what I’ve seen in your videos I think 🤔 I’ll be sticking to electric ⚡️. But it was still an interesting video for sure even setting up the auxiliary channel on the spektrum radio. As always Earl much appreciated brother 🙏👍💯

    Learn something new every day. That's what I try to do. Love all the great tips you have Earl. 👏🔥💯👍 In my opinion it's better to learn from ppl that own the cars vs ppl that sell the cars. (As far as rc's. ) There are a lot of options for rc's and stock replacements are just that. If it fails once it will fail again eventually.

    Great video, very informative. I've been lucky I guess, never has a 2 stroke runaway. I need to check into this, for my HPI Baja. A runaway would be terrible, I thought chasing down a nitro was bad. Good tip on the coil gap!!
    Keep up the great work!!

    Just for future reference. It is possible to removed and install the plugs on the coil without removing. A pair of small precision needle nose is invaluable. That way you don't need to mess with redoing the gap. From one shortcut lover to another. Nice install though. Now run that beast!!

    l Have a DX5C should I pull the battery/program button out and plug that into the red male plug of the kill switch then take the female and plug it into on / off of the receiver?

  • @barracuda253
    @barracuda253 Před rokem +1

    Thank you Earl for this video but hey...Isn't the kill switch should kill the engine in case if you loose the signal or you runnin low voltage. I have the same remote and Dynamite killswitch installed on my 5T, did the exact setup as you show but it's only kills the engine from the remote. I'm like...Is that what's kill switch for?!?

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  Před rokem

      No in the remote as all two stroke come with a fail safe to apply brakes if batteries low or goes out of range the kill is so if the throttle sticks you can cut the motor off yourself 🤷🏻‍♂️that why I felt there a waste 👍👍

    • @barracuda253
      @barracuda253 Před rokem

      @@earlmoorhead5555 Sorry for dumb question Earl so, In other word the runnin low voltage receiver automatically apply brakes while you run your rc and you only can killswith the engine from your remote to prevent runaway right?

    Hey early. Does the killswitch led stay on if your transmitter turns off ? Mine stays on and can’t figure it out. Feel like a kill switch is pointless if it’s not gonna kill the motor if the transmitter loses frequency or glitches and turns off

  • @chrisgarradrc4792
    @chrisgarradrc4792 Před 2 lety +1

    What voltage did you set on the kill switch it's self because you can set it for 4v 5v 6v I have set mine at 5v

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  Před 2 lety

      6V because the servos need that as a minimum to work properly 👍👍

  • @Serialcrasher
    @Serialcrasher Před rokem +1

    Hi, cool video 👍 Will it also kill the engine in case total battery loss/ disconnection of the battery ?

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  Před rokem

      Yes as it kills power to the receiver but in this case I was having a signal loss on one of the three wires so it would run away and I’d have to kill it myself a bad receiver causes this issue
