Very nice, thanks for the video. I made a Short Marathon out of 3.2mm canvas phenolic. It's very heavy and difficult to throw, but when thrown correctly it has amazing flights.
I bought a James Hoy Ninja after seeing a previous video of yours. I can’t get it to return though. If you have any advice on tuning these boomerangs, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I cannot give you any specific advice if you cannot be more specific about "does not return". In this video it is a carbon fiber Marathon weighting 68 grams. The Ninja I throw in czcams.com/video/V-D2b7wEtiE/video.html is made of G11 and weights 95 grams. They are both very demanding boomerangs requiring power throws, you need to warm up first and then I recommend you to start your throwing session with shorter range and lighter boomerangs (30-40gr) requiring less power. Also each boomerang is unique and needs to be "tamed". One must try different throwing parameters and different atmospheric conditions before (de-)tuning it. You may read chapter 2 here www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/2441918/ultimate-boomerang-book
Which one of your Hoy’s do you think stays in flight the longest and which one travels the biggest path? Some fly slower and that’s why I’m asking both questions. Those LD rangs are really moving fast so that cuts down on time even though they’re traveling long distance. His boomerangs are sweet. Some look just like Herb Reeds. I can’t make up my mind which to get. I’m definitely getting one of his LD G-11 nighttime illuminated rangs. He just posted a vid today of one on “The World of Boomerangs” Facebook group. Looks like a ufo 🛸 at night. I figure that light might keep me from losing it.
