One thing I haven't seen mentioned. Since the Drifter is a version of us that didn't get rescued...that means that the Warframes never rebelled against the Orokin. It's very possible that the Orokin might still be alive in the Drifters version of the Origin System...assuming we could ever leave the Void on the Drifters side.

I had this concept lore for a warframe that still has a human-like face, a unfinished frame.
It starts with a tenno practicing her void energy, on transference with a Test frame model.
Something goes wrong with the transference, the tenno feels as if she was being pulled by another force, it felt wrong. Margulis looks on in concern as she screams in pain, and for help, Margulis tried to save the child somehow.
Then The tenno, her physical form turned to ashes, Leaving a Void form of the tenno, being pulled away from the testing chamber, to a
Frame creation chamber on the opposite side of Lua.
Corpus and grineer were working this facility, overseen by ballas.
it wasn't long till ballas heard news of a unfinished frame waking up screaming with echoes of a child in pain.
Ballas allowed the screaming voice to continue for 4 days before getting annoyed. BUT then, there was laughter, a growing sound of hysteria emanating from the creation chamber, Multiple unfinished frames were now laughing, then a deafening Explosion occured, destroying almost all of those creations *except one*.
The blast caused a lua shard(moon rock) to land on ballas, it hit him in the head lol, he KO-
but what happened in that room? A portal to the void ripped open, and the man in the wall was speaking to the half-tenno frame, this was the only character that would learn the entirety of Wally's plan.

The plan was to have them build a solar rail network in Tao and Tera-form the planets then an intentional defect in the rail system design they were given would blast them lethal amounts of void energy when it was turned on to exterminate them.
The Grineer are also suffering clone rot due to similar purging precautions that were triggered by the fall of the Orokin. Grineer were engineered to be sterile so the Orokin could shut down the clone factories if they rebelled. After their fall the Grineer took over the facilities but didn't have access to the original DNA so they have been making copies of copies.

The thing that got me about Warframe was the fact that even the good guys aren't good. Lotus, at her best, enlisted super powered immortal child soldiers to kill her enemies by the thousand.
No one who actually fights in this conflict has any say about it. So much of the corpus society is based on debt and the lengths you have to go to in order to gain profit, it's not unreasonable to expect that they would send indentured slaves to fight the war for them.
the Grineer are clones that are bred for nothing but war, regardless of what or who they wish to be.
then there's the enemies in the void, who are obviously mind controlled versions of the regular soldiers you run into from day to day.
Centuries after the fall of the Orokin, the elites still exploit the weak for their own purposes.

The Lotus is also a terrible mother, and always was, who fully intended to keep us asleep, on ice, forgetful, and never allow us to grow up, forever. The only reason we had to wake up is because Hunhow found out where we slept. She's the perfect example of the Oedipal mother who infantilizes her children because she doesn't want an empty nest.
And the rest you say is right, which is pretty terrible considering we murder all these enemies by the MILLIONS without second thought.

The Tenno are not innocent either: they willingly choose sides between the Corpus and Grineer (a choice that the Lotus didn't actually make them do: _they_ decided to do it for themselves). @@_cjrriley they are children. Marguiles recruiting them is literally a war crime, but of course they would go to war for their mother. As for the abelism, they were a product of their environment, just like any child. They grew up in a world that idolized a twisted version of perfection, even the 'good' people treated different people badly. To accuse them of abelism simply demonstrates your privilege in growing up in a world that tries to treat people better.
I grew up when it was ok to call people names that are inexcusable now. Where you were weird for standing up for those who were different and that was just as bad as being different.
Think of the most virtuous 40 something you know and I promise you, they aren't innocent, they just grew up to be something better.

    • @_cjrriley
      @_cjrriley Před rokem

@@jonathonclary1681 I’m sorry, but being raised in an environment that idolizes perfection doesn’t justify or excuse ableism. The Tenno (or at least the Operator), in the past (before the game’s events) have shown that they can, at least in some sense, understand right from wrong. In the Second Dream quest, the Operator’s reaction to witnessing a kid holding another kid by their throat shows that they have some sense of moral discernment. Yet they chose not to intervene and to become a bystander. And it would be inappropriate to assume that they were the only Tenno that had this thought.
Claiming I have “privilege” because I brought up ableism not only is arguing in bad faith, but it’s also misrepresenting my stance. I beg of you to address my points without attempting to attack my character or experiences. I came here for a healthy discussion: not a finger-pointing match. Your assumption is also an incorrect one: I grew up with African-American parents, and the environment around mental health in the African-American community is terrible, especially since I'm Autistic, so they treated me and another Autistic sibling as idiots. So to say I have "privilege" when I had to endure ableism myself from my own parents and my own community is quite demoralizing.
While the Tenno may have grown up in an imperfect environment, there are times within the Orokin Empire that challenge the notion that they are more than capable of understanding right from wrong (such as the little girl from Grandmother’s Nabirus story.
It’s more than valid to critique the actions and behaviours of the Tenno, including their participation in factional invasions and their treatment of Rell. This can help us create a deeper understanding of the complex narrative of this game we play. But to dismiss any attempt to nullify those points because they live in a different world than ours, or due to their age, is disingenuous at best. The major point that I'm making is that the Tenno are not innocent. I'm not claiming that they are just as bad as the Grinner, the Corpus, the Lotus, Magulius, the Man in the Wall, or any other character in this game. I am simply saying that they have their own flaws, and it's important to recognize those faults and not dismiss them.

The man in the wall’s story was the best part of the new war IMO as they somehow added more details to him while at the same time, raised up his mystique to an all time high - destiny players are sticking with it to figure out the plan of savathun and wf players have the far more mysterious man in the wall to deal with -- it’s a good time to be into looter shooter lore haha

I played D2 this past week (because 3 expansions were f2p temporarily lol) and I have to say the story is convoluted, vague and very poorly presented. Apparently it spreads back into some very old expansions that are no longer available, so you can expect every second line of campaign dialogue to mention someone you've never heard of before or some very important event that you also don't recognize. Mainly though I just don't think the main lore is quite as deep as in warframe- the Light and Dark are poorly explained (they are some fundamental energies but apparently the Dark has some consciousness, because it infects your "desires"? It is a play on the Force from Star Wars which is also pretty vague), the Traveller is helping civilizations and then abandoning them for unknown reasons, and some evil entities attacked humanity during a "Dark Age" (again for unknown reasons).

Keep in mind that the sword steel making being "only just" was Umbra thing, as he was a very early experiment. Warframes were originally meant to be free of the infestation's madness, and loyal to the Orokin, but they turned on the Orokin, and had to be put down.
The original Warframes made like Umbra was, were "consigned to the grave" whatever that means.
I took it to mean that all Warframes save for Umbra are essentially dead. What was once a brain, is probably just a bunch of infested stuff instead, the Helminth having already long since killed the host.
So, they're probably just super-infestation corpse puppets now. After all, using Kuva to pilot a corpse isn't exactly hard.

The common running theory is that modern frames are cybernetics holding together infested material (considering even the names of their parts) as opposed to people being purposefully infested to create them like the old days. Basically we probably use creatures already infested and their differing personalities is a result of some sort of retained personality that is imprinted in their neuroptics. Our frames have their quirks not because they have retained memories but because they are copies of the beings that once did.

In the umbra excalibur quest we learn that the original frames were created from people, and there are lore drops for some of these frames (umbra for one). But they were ultimately a failure, until the tenno arrived.
Other sources indicate that the frames currently used by the tenno are poor copies of the originals (the umbral frames). Even ones created by the orkin, but without using a human host, were not as good as an umbral.

I still cant help but wonder after the shadow stretching affect that lotus had around her after the interaction with the man in the wall after the new war, if maybe instead of only 3 personalities in lotus, that there may now be a fourth. And that perhaps one day, lotus or Margolis or Natah, may actually become our enemy again, not out of choice, but because the man in the wall, is master of the house now. And biding his time until hes in full control. It wouldn't surprise me considering the people who created the story, if after all that kill lotus mentality they created on the community, if they decided to string that out even farther, to use another day in the future, when the man on the wall arc comes into full play. Get us all to let our guards down a bit, and then sucker punch us all from our blind spot. That being the Lotus3. Or if the man in the wall uses her as the gateway out. A skin that he sheds one day in the future, taking away our victory, and leaving us with a new enemy. After all, DE loves using other movies and themes as "inspiration" in their game. Lol

I have a complex theory on this I will try to make incredibly brief, but given what the Man in the Wall actually says to us, I think he basically shows up, laughs in our face, says that pretty much everything up until now was by his design or knowing, basically that arriving at that point was a predictable or orchestrated situation on his part all in an effort to get Ballas to use Lotus to open the way for him to escape the void. Given the order of the mods he says, I believe he is essentially describing everything of the Tenno's journey up to his reappearance in front of us, and the order of the words he says are actually simple descriptions of all the major quests we have done in order, ending with his arrival. He is laughing at how well everything worked, essentially, and everything that has happened to this point was an elaborate scheme to free him from his prison.
I think he plans to use Lotus moving forward for continue enacting his means, and I think the visions Lotus has gotten so far are visions of her getting corrupted by the Man in the Wall that she doesn't want to tell us, and I think that is why we saw him wearing Lotus's helmet. I think he plans to use transference to BECOME the Lotus, so to speak, and take her power for himself in the "physical" realm while also capturing the biggest weakness to the Tenno and the Sentients at the same time. How better to control the Tenno than to take the Lotus hostage? It's the singular move he could make to immediately subjugate the entire system if he for whatever reason does not have the means to do it in his current form.

Fuuuuuucking mental metal. Good choice of background music, even if your voice can't help but lift me up. We didn't even discuss the grineer's existential corporeal crisis, or the Tenno's trip in the void, having decimated their parents during a bloody psychosis. My friends don't believe me when I say Warframe is set in the shadows.

I find it interesting how the Entrati family (other than maybe the Son) doesn't seem to realize that they are infestation now. All of them are just personalities in the same entity. They are now just a stain if infestation, but one that suffers multiple personalities. Creepy to think about.
