  • ******PLEASE SUBSCRIBE******UPDATE(2018) this is an out take from the failed Randy Documentary by the fake producer Peter,it is just 1 of 3 takes, and before I changed my clothes and plugged in the guitars!Anyway , the 2 pictures I mentioned ,one is the thumbnail and the other you can see on my "Facebook page Michael Douglas Skewes". These are only 2 of the 22 Randy Rhoads guitars I own in my collection (which is in several guarded locations in 3 states!) .Also, this was shot in 2007. A lot has happened since then! Please watch my (Randy Rhoads and I 9 years later) that I did on Dec.6 in 2016.
    (the thumbnail picture is a picture of Randy sitting in his Scirocco ) (at 6th and Cypress Ave. in Burbank I took on my way home from school 1981)
    NOTE: If you want to see the pics of Randy I mention go to my facebook page and look at my pictures- facebook,com/michael d. skewes**see update at end of video description** It's me in a new documentary about Randy Rhoads. I went in and shot another version for the doc. but I'm not sure which if either that they will use.I'm dressed better in the second one but I don't think it came out as good or smooth as this one because I had someone asking too many questions off camera, and I had to start and stop too many times. Oh well, at least you get to see it on CZcams ! Maybe I'll post the other one in a few weeks. If you would like to get in contact with the guy who shot this ,........good luck!
    UPDATE!!!!! 5/23/08-2016!!!!
    It turns out that the goofball wannabe producer of the documentary has decided not to use this,which doesn't matter because P. M. lost the court battle and the film will never be re.leased ,said to be the worst documentary EVER and will never see the light of day !So, I guess Kevin Dubrow (R.I.P.) and Bob Daisley were right in not wanting to work with this guy! Oh well,at least YOU get to see it on CZcams! ONE MORE THING:Brent, if you ever do see this,out of the 3 takes we did,I mentioned you once and I told him"don't use Brents' name in this, I haven't spoke with him in years and would at least want to ask his permission"so,Brent,I'm sorry the idiot editor used your name right off the bat!!!! Sorry again!

      You are exactly right! I've gone over every situation,like Alice Cooper picking him up,that would have been perfect since he loved Alice,but he was battling his crap at that point! Or KISS ,pre or post make up,except with- out make- up Randy would have made them look even more hideous next to him! I don't know,it seems like this was the way for the world to see Randy! Actually,and I don't like bringing it up,it was the damn bus driver who was trying to kill everybody,at least the 2 main ones,that is why Randy went because Rachel went and he didn't think acock would try anything stupid,but that is the big deal,and they don't talk about it,but the pilot just got divorce papers from his wife and he had been on a 3 day coke binge ,everyone knew it was behind the control panel and Tommy Aldridge got it and threw it before Barney Fife got there to do his investigating! It was he drivers fault ,but you will never hear that from Sharon Satan Osbourne or the dimwitted oz,that would bring up a whole bunch of crap,even though I think it has been too long to do anything.

      I'm sorry,your comment was lost in all the crazy comments! That is a very cool story,you know for yourself how nice he really was ,and to see him live is EVERYTHING! You just can't describe how he was onstage,especially with Ozzy,I was thinking,holy crap,that is Randy ,and he looks more like a Rockstar than anyone else! I am glad I got the chance to know him ,and take lessons before he was gone! His top student Craig Turner eventually took over for him at Musonia,and we became great friends,but he just passed away from cancer,a couple years ago.Anyway,thanks for the comment,feel free to ask anything else you want! And keep playing!!!!!

      they are polka dots ,not spots. Thus not funny.Actually it is a fine little comment,I', just a little jaded by the endless posts of poeple bashing me ,or what I said or did'y say ,blah ,blah ,blah. So when someone put up something like that ,I don't know what they really mean. Sad really,a stupid little outake from a bad documentary that no one will see,hopefully,and most of the coments I took down because they were crazy! So,there ya go Travis ,dot not spots !

    • @travisschaefer339
      @travisschaefer339 Před 8 lety +4

      +Michael Douglas Skewes nah I just thought it was funny. I don't know where some of the people who try to question the authenticity of what you're saying get off. As if they were there or they ever met the guy. Lots of people took lessons from Randy, I bet no one ever called Joe Holmes a liar. Regardless it's always cool hearing more about his life even if that documentary was awful.

    • @MichaelDouglasSkewes
      @MichaelDouglasSkewes  Před 8 lety +3

      Travis Schaefer That's cool,I just take so much crap for this video,and I don't know why,I didn't go into a lot of stuff about Randy.I was friends with him for years before I took lessons .and we would talk a lot during the lesson time and he would feel bad ,because he would say "you could ride your bike over to my house and instead of pay for it! But,I learned a lot from him and after he left I stopped because george lynch took over.I said all this but it was edited out and he kept in the part that I took lessons from him when he came home before the diary of a madman tour ,he gave lesson to a few students ,maybe 20 or so some lessons,and not many people knew that or believed me,they thought I made up the lessons that he gave during his break for the holidays .Anyway it's funny you metioned Joe Holmes ,he said in a few interviews that he took lessons from Randy during that time,I was relieved ,but still some just dont read of watch stuff.Also my good friend at John Muir Jr. High school was Brent ...well he changed his name to Woods but anyway he was the one that rode our bikes over to Randys house house to get me to take lessons from him because my teacher,well sucked,so he said take some from my teacher ,and so I did! Now Brent is kinda well known,we was in a band called Wildside in 1991 and when they broke up he played guitar on Vince Niels 2nd solo album "carved in stone" and has been in a bunch of these bands trying to stay going and right now he is in Sabatian Bach's Band,it's very easy to look up,so there is Brent ,Joe and a few others but none really did anything in music ,I was in 3 pretty big bands ,Fatal Attraction being the biggest ,our last c.d. that was released a couple years ago was downloaded over 20 million times! And my band Trick Or Treat with Mandy Lion was a band that got big fast and had a demo deal with Capital records ,but the singer messed that up ,that is why I formed Fatal Attraction which toured and you can find videos all over youtube,just make sure you make sure it's Fatal Attraction original hollywood vanmpires. Plus I have plenty of videosof me playing guitars from my collection of about 100.So,now you know more then you ever wanted too! Thanks for being cool ,I just had to make sure ,out of a half million viewers ,it seems a 1/3 of them go right to this video and bitch,but at least I do have friends that back me up on here. Thanks again.-Michael Dee

      +Michael Douglas Skewes wow that's a pretty cool story. it's really a shame that some people just hear what they want to. so many fake stories about his life and career and people pretending to have been a part of it. maybe some day unheard interviews or new videos will be released. The practice amp Randy used in the "little" room was a Crate. He also had a small, early Carvin which he won in a guitar playing contest. Delores still has them in the room and still uses them. She gave Zakk Wylde Randy's stage vest (The light tan one) that he had custom made for him in Hollywood when he joined Ozzy. Cheers! R.I.P. Randy, Robbin, Kevin........

    In response to RR being a classicaly trained guitar player.
    Eddie Van Halen is a classically trained piano player, a musical genious, a guitar builder/designer (changed the way guitars were designed in the 80's), had a sound that no one could replicate... but an arrogant a-hole and was never much liked... Anything after 1984, forget about it. Really two different guitar players which was good! RR was awesome as we know. Was only getting better. R.I.P

      I hate thinking of the big IF ! He would have gone on to things that no one even has a clue . The Classical guitar degree was just a nice way of telling Ozzy, and Sharon ,that he was gone, and don't even think about him coming back. I'm sure at some point ,he would have gotten back with Ozzy after he cleaned up, and probably done some Quiet Riot stuff. But ,I think if he could find the right band , or musicians, he would have been right there ,doing something like ,say Alice Cooper ,when he came back in the 80s ,Randy loved Alice ,he would have jumped at it ! He even mentioned that once when they we re putting the Diary tour together! And his sound, and defiantly his tone would have become bigger. He was a tone c.f. hacer yoo ,like Eddie,but he wasn't a tinkering type,he just went and found people who could do what he wanted. I was really excited for him!

    I saw Randy Rhoads in a pawn shop in Colorado Springs Colorado. June of 81. I did not know who he was at the time. He was playing an acoustic guitar and these two "hippies" were watching him. They obviously knew who he was. I went on to become an Ozzy-RANDY fan years later. When I realized I was standing next to Randy Rhoads years earlier I "flipped out".

As long as it you like it,that's what counts! The Sandovals are not that good,even Randy didn't like his,he liked the sound and it played ok ,but he was going to have another built by Jackson,or so I heard!

    I met Ozzy back in '87 when he was promoting the Randy Rhodes Tribute album. I asked him to sign my guitar pic. I have no idea how he got his signature on that little tiny piece of plastic. He was using a magic marker too. He was a bit sedated with a glazed-over look about him. I must have waited in line for about an hour to shake his hand.

    He didn't mention Bill Nelson's influence on Randy. Randy's solo on Ozzy's Tonight was directly taken from the outro solo of Bill's solo on Be Bop Deluxe's "Jet Silver and the Dolls". Randy did it a bit faster, I think. Randy was, and still has not been surpassed, as the fastest player ever. I consider him to be the best, and my guardian angel.

      Yeah ,your right,a lot was cut from this shot,I went into more of what I talked with Randy about,I talked more about how his Alice Cooper influence was heard on Diary of a Madman like Ballad of Dwight fry and welcome to my nightmare are all over the title song.And your right about the guys you mentioned,you can hear that more in the Quiet Riot albums .Anyway like I was trying to say but got cut out that he was my friend way before I took any lessons from him ,I think I was about 11 or 12 when I first met him!And that I had taken lessons previous to his Ozzy gig,but all that was cut and it starts with the line I said not to use until I talk to Brent because he was/is in it too. I GUESS THAT IS WHAT YOU WOULD WANT ,WELL SHE TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND I SAID GET IT IF YOU CAN ,SO SHE ASKED AND THEY SAID NO,SO SHE THREW IT OUT AND THEN WENT AND GOT THE FILE FROM THE TRASH ,SO YOU SEE IF SHE HAD JUST CHUCKED IT OUT SO PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD BE HAPPY,WE WOULD'NT HAVE THE ONLY PICTURE IN THE WORLD OF RANDY RHOADS WITH A LITTLE MUSTACHE,WHICH HIS MOM AND SISTER BOTH CRIED WHEN I SHOWED THEM THE PICTURE,THEY SAID THEY HAD NO PICTURES OF HIM WITH A MUSTACHE AND WERE SO THANKFUL THAT MY FUTURE FIRST WIFE HAD SAVED THE FILE AND PICTURE. SO NOW THEY HAVE A COPY TOO ,NOW,AFTER ME HAVING TO EXPLAIN THIS,ARE YOU STILL UPSET? AM I OR MY FIRST WIFE STILL A THIEF FOR SAVING THIS ONE OF A KIND PICTURE OF RANDY FOR EVERYONE TO SEE,AS YOU CAN SEE I PUT IT ON THE INTERNET FOR ALL RANDY RHOADS FANS TO SEE. HE WAS MY FRIEND AND TEACHER AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS ,THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE THAT KNOW THE TRUTH. NOBODY KNEW THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PICTURE BECAUSE I WAS PROTECTING MY EX WIFE FROM STUPID COMMENTS LIKE THIS! SHE GOT THAT FILE FOR ME AND I GAVE IT TO THE WORLD,I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! DO YOU? !!!AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!!! HAVE A NICE DAY!

    Keep you chin up, who the hell knows (or cares) why these "posers" feel they need to sow discord. I love Randy Rhoads, it deeply saddens me to think about what may have been had he lived longer. No one knows, but I believe you would have heard his name mentioned in conversations along side Mozart, Beethoven and Bach.
    I enjoy hearing from people who new him personally. In all of the many hours that I have read and listened to stories from people, like yourself, who had been lucky enough to had known him, I have never read or heard anything negative concerning Randy Rhoads. This speaks to his character.
    Thank you for sharing your memories of Randy,

    what Randy meant was try and develope your own style and dont just learn covers and be lazy. the big point for me developing my style was TONE! that is very important,listen to Eddie,Randy,Dime. I worked on getting my own tone (which at first just sounded like Mick Mars,who was also a very big influence on me!Tone,style, you get the idea. Randy was just trying to make sure I did just learn covers and not develope my own style!listen to my band fatal attraction on myspace,"night stalker"

    That was way too short! I could have listened to your anecdotes for longer, great tales of a great guitarist. I was outside the Glasgow Apollo, Scotland on the very 1st night Randy started touring with Blizzard, had no money for a ticket! Failed to meet Randy but met Ozzy, a big regret is that i never did get to see Randy on stage. I am taking my family to LA in July stayin at the Universal in Burbank, I would like to buy you for a beer if you'd be interested.

    I know he was trained on piano,my great grand mother knew the family back in Holland(I know that sounds crazy but it's true!)and the classical influence did come out on his solos,BUT,Randy who also played classical had a more classical style of playing overall than Eddie did with is groawling and squeling sounds plus his attack,.I don't know it is just my opinion.

      Hey you poor thing, I beleive you , Just know that those who are doubting your aythenticity here, most likely , dont get Randy. I mean a die hard fan of Randy Rhoads like myself appriciate any info, if its true fans like us can piece it together and make our own judgement WITHOUT getting all WAKO . you know. So sweat off the back, try not to allow this stuff to upset you friend, its not worth your energy or time, Randy was pretty mature in the sense of treating people respectfuly, so those that cant just " NOT COMMENT " to me are not embracing Randy as not only a great guitarist but also as a great human being, and its like the saying goes, choose your audience and tailor your speech, not you Michael, but in general, like say those getting all freaked out and ready to say things that arent realy productive, might do, there is a level of excellence I myself fail to stand up to and that is being kind all the time , but i do know that online peeps , are very comfie with trashing others when they can just say nothing at all, Randy wouldnt choose to be around or partake in such things , remember your teacher , I do, and he still teaches us , more than music , but a level of engaging in something where only beautiful things comes back to you, If I were you , I wouldnt even respond, to some of these comments, or respeond with, a simple thank you. realy kill em with kindness ;) I just hate to see someone who did such a cool thing like you, share your story and see you feel the need to respond to the ones that arent even worth your energy,. i loved what you shared here and appriciate that you did so very much. Rock on !
