  • Jason Egan ported 661 taking on a frozen pine tree. running an Oregon 34" bar and a full skip Archer chain. not a big fan of the archer chain. it'll throw decent chips but still doesn't cut very well

    I like seeing that you don't pull the hinge out of the log👍, I bought a roll of the EXL, I love it, real comparable to Stihl, grinds nice too.

      Yeah I try not to pull any wood. I see it all the time and it drives me crazy. I can still hear my dad chew me out when it does happen 🤣

    Man I can feel the forearm burn from here flippin a 661 with a full weight oregon bar on a boney ass pine tree! Who needs a gym when you can flip saw limbin and buckin lol. I like oregon chain cuz I get it free from a cousin who gives me his worn out fallin chains to finish off on firewood........well used too anyway since I moved to Montana and he still lives on the oregon coast

      Oh yeah tell me about it lol I've been using mostly light bars the last couple of years so I'm still getting used to the weight hahahah

    I don’t think I ever heard anyone say that they liked archer chain. You still like that 34” bar?

    • @kodeebarber
      @kodeebarber  Před rokem +1

      Yeah I don't think I have either and it's really not that much cheaper for the quality of it.
      You know I'm actually really liking it it's just about the perfect length for me. Wish someone would make a lightweight version but oh well

    i like sthil chain then oregon woodsman pro isnt bad either nice work

    • @kodeebarber
      @kodeebarber  Před rokem +1

      Never tried it. Oregon cuts smoother and faster but it's softer so it dulls faster. Haven't been really impressed with the last couple rolls of Stihl chain I've bought so I've been thinking about going back to Oregon chain. I do really like the Stihl chain in the burn though because it really holds an edge good in this stuff

      @@kodeebarber It's rebranded Carlton. It even has Carlton on the tie straps. It's pretty soft, but it's also inexpensive too. I bought 10 packs years ago, of 28", 32" and 36" skip. Oregon and Stihl are definitely better.
