Second time on Racing Track.
Special thanks to the camera man and his patience recording my begginer laps :)
Wish the camera was a little lower haha! Such a nice ride. Love that sound. 💚
Thanks! It really was a great Trackday :)
cool riding! kudos!
Thanks buddy ;)

great vid. 401 rider better than camera. would be great to see them on the same bikes.
Thanks man! But really... No way! My friend was just trying to get the best angles riding safely and trying to adapt his speed to mine. He is waaaaay faster than me, even he would be with the same bike. He has been riding for years and me it's just the second time I go to track. So maybe aone day I can go as fast as he goes but currently it's just not happening :)
@@rarroo :)
not even close mate lol., camera was trying to make a vid,. could have passed in a heartbeat.
The 401 looked good on track. Any mods to the bike, and what was the riders feedback about the bike’s performance on track?
Mods are on the description, but basically:
- Extras: K&N Air Filter, Leovince Manifold, Booster Plug
- Tires: Pirelli MT60-RS 120/60-17 front - 160/60-17 rear
About the feedback... well that was my 2nd time on track so I cannot really give very tech data :D
My main feelings are:
- The bike is way too slow compared to the other bikes on the track, which typically have double (or triple or quadruple) the horsepower of the Svartpilen. This happened both times I rode on the track, so you find yourself being completely outpaced on the straight sections and then struggling to keep up in the curves.
-The Svart is very light, which let you really enjoy the change of directions and accelerate from the very low revs.
- Handlebar is very straight for the track. Most probably I will change it for some bended or angled version to improve the riding position.
- The fork suspension... I can feel that it is too soft and too long. It's perfectly fine for me, but I feel that if I had a stiffer front suspension, the braking in the fast zones would be safer.
- I think the seat is too high for track riding
- My Svart is the first version, so not quickshifter. I wish I had one installed.
- I'm seriously thinking about installing a steering damper. The Svart feels quite nervous in the front at 'high' speed.
- I had some problems with the braking fluid during and after the track day. There were some leaks from the reservoir.
Do you have the part no. for Leo Vince manifold. I'm intrested în buying one. Any difference from the stock exhaust?
@@scpaburlacu Sure! It's the "Leovince 8086"
Official Leovince Site - www.leovince.com/es-es/product/8086-cat-eliminator-link-pipe-ktm-duke-390-2017-2020-2
But much less expensive if you llok at the reference online. I remember to pay something around 140€.
In any case I keep the stock exhaust because I really love it and I works like a charm. Believe me if I say you don't need to change it and you are not going to miss any sound punch with when you install it.
On this bikes the exhaust tail is basically sound, weight and aesthetics, but not really performance.
What is ideal is to maximize the air flux on the engine so the combination of the K&N air filter and the Leovince manifold is the perfect couple. The throttle response is much faster and the horsepower kicks at hig revs. You will really notice the difference with complete combo.
Be aware that the OEM manifold has a chamber that weights around 5 kg so just the weight reduction is quite noticeable.
Also she wears a Booster Plug since it originally bypass the electronic of the bike putting more air on the mix, making a softer response at low revs, but now I'm thinking maybe I don't need it anymore.
Hello, the front tire is a Pirelli MT60-RS 120/60-17 ? I looking for that size in the official webpage and seems doens't exist.
Hi. I need to check the bike but I think you are absolutely right 😱
I didn't change the ratio size, just the Wide, so it must be 120/70-17 front!
I just wrote it bad and I have been doing copy/paste of that mistake in all my videos!
Thanks for pointing that
@@rarroo 120/70-17 fits in the 401? or front fender was removed?
@@ikariku I have the first Svart 401 version from 2018 and it fits perfectly without any modification. As the versions from 2020 to the current one are different (and in fact have different front fender) I really can’t tell, but I’m pretty sure you won’t have problems with this one
How's the 160/60 rear? is it good? or too much for rear?
It all depends on the bike usage. As I'm currently using my Svart mostly for asphalt and racing track, the rear 160 gives me more stability, but also the stock tire is much harder and heavier. The difference is equally noticeable for the size as for the type of tire.
@@rarroo really? Str is much heavier? New info for me. So 150/60 of str is heavier compare to 160/60 of mt
It was kind of surprising for me too but it's how I feel the difference between those tires.
STR felt just normal until I grab the MT60, that really felt like a balloon at the beginning, lighter and softer.
@@rarroo woah. Nice im actually considering mt60 but im hesitant because of the sizes. Thanks for that info
@@komiksss the biggest difference for me is the front. You can feel the size of the wheel, but in my case I prefer it
