Bro I’ve NEVER seen someone zoom into the envelope in Serum before…. And I’ve watched just about every stream and tutorial imaginable. That’s amazing. Thank you ❤
I've always struggled with this, and seeing this approach explains what I've been doing wrong. I've always tried to get the punch through compression and limiting and not through pitch modulation.
You could set start phase position random to 0 for consistent sound and put then the start position somewhere away from crossing line for even more consistent punch.
Really good video! Nice to see it being done in serum as that's what I'm using atm! Thanks for this it will help alot! The scope is quite cool too I might have to give it a go
Awesome! You uppercutted this one right out of the park! Going to try this out myself! Might be refreshing to make my own, instead of relying on samples for my sub bass. Interesting idea to put an aux env to modulate pitch. Hmm....
Thanks so much for all you tutorials, amazing how many people you would’ve helped by now🙏🏽It’s been a long time since I made any tunes, this makes me want to get back into making music.
Another tight bass! I just bought Serum finally and will grab your Gnarly preset pack, because it just sounds ridiculously good, but I'm still happy to know how to make all these variations, and which parameters to tweak to get desired results. Thanks again, and thanks for the oscilloscope hook-up! Cool tool!
Another killer video STRANJAH. You have a great way of keeping things simple, without ego bullshit, and you always produce amazing results. Thank you !
i was expecting the oldskool jungle pulse sub-bass sound when i clicked this, and it started out kinda like that but it's basically an 808 bass tutorial, especially once you introduce distortion later on. in any case, good stuff! you should reference the 808 bass in the video title btw, draw in all the amateur trap instrumental crowd :)
Literally bought installed and downloaded ableton today and serum as a trial. Your vids are and excuse my french, fukin amazin. Already learnt so much today just by watching your videos keep it up man!
really helpful stuff! I was wondering how you manage to get those spacious drums. Been trying to fool around with reverb and echo, but with very limited success.
@@STRANJAH I was referring to drums in for instance Ruffage by Loefah (especially the snares there) or Might of the Trinity by Akcept (especially the hats in this). more generally perhaps, how to 'create space' in your drumpads
This is so helpful. I was struggling with subs. Can't wait to wear my sub pac and do this exercise. Do you have a sub pac? Could be a good brand partner for future video.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, didn't realize it was that basic in Serum :)
You are welcome, sometimes it takes demonstration like that to get you over the hitch! How long have you been producing?

I have been on a few tutorials, this is by far the best one thank you so much, liked n subbed
this is perfect for dance music off bases!

Edgey your welcome and glad it helped. Yes get that scope. It helps to have a visual tool when you sound design!
I wish I would’ve came across your videos years ago. But thank you for the knowledge and inspiration and for another push to keep it moving.
Your class bro! You have filled the tutorial hole
Glad to be of service!! Thanks for your kind words Keef!
Your subscriber count is going to explode soon bro, keep up the amazing content!

Yes its an old trick I've been using, pretty rudimentary technique - but sometimes that's all you need.
Thank you STRANJAH. The sub came out great.
bro thank you so much for this!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 star video
So helpful! I love how clear your tutorials are :)

just found this - great tutorial ! Will be messing with the mods and get that snappy sound
Cheers man hope it helps!
Really good and helpful tutorial - thanks!
Awesome! I am new to the channel and really love your videos, Stranjah...
Really nice tutorials man keep it up ! Would be interested to see a tutorial on different approaches to mids, synthesis and mix down wise.
Noted!
Same. I always see it done in pieces but never the entire process all they way through.

Great tutorial 👍 It would be interesting to see the sub combined with a techno kick. 🙏
this is beautiful knowledge man
Love how you emphasize "whatever sounds good to you"... too many tutorials fail to highlight this incredibly important element.
I agree 💯
Thanks man! :)

2nd drop in this track is a great example of the jungle pulse bass btw, you could try to recreate czcams.com/video/9JYGgqCJ3Ts/video.html
haha thanks for the tip! Do you have a track reference, as I'm not sure what you mean by jungle pulse bass.
Love the thumbnail lol!
Cheers I had to make it look "punchy" xD
Mate, great video as always, thank you very much, you have helped my a lot so far in my production!

great to know, keep at it!
Great video! Keep them going.
Thanks man!
Nice videos, thanks! Keep em comming.
Thanks will do!
Great video, love the channel. Could you make a tutorial on how to layer bass sounds?
thank you, you've helped me a lot!
do a video on those drums mate! love the halftime industrial sounding break going on there :)
I was just thinking that thanks for the suggestion. What is your favourite tempo?
@@STRANJAH 160 - 170 man :)
@@JamieHarka Right on, will keep that in mind.
Again another great video more please you legend
I didn’t know you can zoom in an envelope that’s so cool
thx - like this one :)
Is u a god or sumtn
Amazing man this was a huge help!
Thank u!!
Your welcome!
saturation on sub and clip control distortion is good also i heard.
Simple and greate! Thanks!
im so grateful for this!! massively big ^^s m8
Wuba duba sub, love it :D
Lovely content, dude, Keep it up!
Yo this is sick!!
An analogue sine was never rough. Anyway, great tutorial! :)
KA-BOOM! 💥
Good tutorial! Thanks.
Would you recommend compression or would that work against total volume/loudness?
I'm not against it as long as it doesn't sacrifice on the sub bass. Compression is especially good for 808 sounding basses like the punchy bass.
really helpful stuff! I was wondering how you manage to get those spacious drums. Been trying to fool around with reverb and echo, but with very limited success.
Thanks Milan. If you can provide me a track example I can look into it!

not a bad idea! i have tried sub pac it is fun
nice one (y)
cheers m8!
What computer do you use? I don’t really want to spend over £800 but really need to know what the best computers are for production
Planning to do a video for cmoputers.
those are not triplet notes, but dotted notes tho.
but nice video ;)
