That was really good, you guys! One of the things I really appreciated was when Jeremy talked about how irksome it is to have iconic character pairings that cannot be played with both characters at the elite level. Two of the pairings he mentioned were Han1 + Leia and Han1 + Chewie. Other cool thematic teams that suffer from this problem are Chirrut + Baze, Luke1 & Leia, Luke1 + Old Obi-Wan, Jyn Erso, Mace Windu, and Darth Vader1 with...anybody. When Legacies came out I was happy to see that at least a couple of those teams became possible to build (Han2 + Chewie, Han2 + Leia) as well as some other good, thematic teams like Kanan + Zeb. I'm also happy to hear that Jeremy is actively trying to address this.
I hope some of the characters from sets 1, 2, and 3 will get point cost reductions or be released in revised form (like the above-mentioned Jyn, Mace, and maybe even Vader1), and that the new set(s) will have some characters they can be paired with, both elite.
Thanks again for another helpful and entertaining video!

One character I really want to be remade with a better, reduced-point version: K-2SO. He is a twenty-point, melee-based red character (with only two sides of damage) whose ability makes it nigh-impossible to play any good upgrades on him. It is surprising that he was ever made a legendary character. A lower-point version with more balanced sides would be a welcome addition to the game.

Good to see some new Destiny content, as it seems a while since the last batch. Enjoying the interview format and looking forward to seeing how it evolves over time! This has also got me excited for the next wave!

Love SWD and the direction Ben Stein is taking it, but every game needs a frontman to spread hype and show passion for the project they are meant to represent. See Ben Brode or even Peter Molyneux.

The "point value" of that Bendu's Lair die seems crazy for a battlefield! You're definitely gonna want to consider running battlefield-grab cards with that to make sure you keep your hands on it.

Splendid editing. I would really love to see such nice videos more often! Maybe live stream with the overlay so that we can actually see the dice on a tablet? I really missed a good stream at Euros.

Great content! Thanks for the spoilers and great to see you/Jeremy playing a game with some high caliber decks! Quick question: at 33:30, could/should Jeremy have done special chain Hondo/Yoda and instead of Lightbow went to Force Speed Special? He could have resolved for 2 actions. Used Yoda 2 focus to do Lightbow and Forcewave and did those 2 specials right then...leaving Hondo disrupt remaining. (Alt, Hondo special, but less useful with 5 money incoming.) Just only thing I was thinking differently on that play. Would have dealt himself 2+1 that way, but closer damage. Just one thought that went through head during video. Won, so definitely doing it right. :) Joys of reviewing tape after the big game. :) Thanks for sharing!

Zach, perhaps I am reading too much into this but it really appeared as though you had to walk Jeremy through several plays (like special chaining, Impulsive play, etc). Mind addressing?
And great video! Super well edited, making it very easy to follow along.

Jeremy has championships in multiple games and his ability to play them at a high level was why he was a great person to bring on to develop them. Read the following on him and decide if you think a person who did those accomplishments needed any walking through on a game (let alone one he works on)

Romo Brothers I’m familiar with Jeremy’s qualifications and his resume. Just wondering if Zach would share his perspective on what seemed to be going down in the video... if you don’t think that was happening then OK, maybe it wasn’t. That’s why I asked.
More to the point I was wondering if special chaining’s days may be numbered considering Jeremy is designing and playing with cards (and I assume rules) that are over a year out (his words). I know it’s the internet and all, but my question wasn’t meant to be disparaging.

    • @bowietsang920

Zach was clearly walking the non-Destiny audience through the plays so that they can enjoy the new interview format. Look at the shield placement which sets up the Riposte -- this is a guy who knows what he is doing.
P.S. For readers with little competitive experience: Thrawn+Mother doesn't run Intimidate so they can only one-shot the shields with Frighten, which costs a valuable resource round 1 on a secondary target (Hondo). It was a win-win play for Jeremy.

Hybrid Art Probably more significant than that is the mumbling along with the deeper voice; I found it incredibly difficult to understand what he was saying much of the time. Obviously, Zach crushed it like always. Maybe TC can let their guests know to enunciate clearly?

Given the choice between a great designer who is not the most charismatic, but really understands how to develop this game, and any other designer who is really likeable on camera, but maybe doesn't always make the best design choices, I know which I'd prefer!
