  • NASA documentary about STS-125 (final Hubble mission) with the astronauts presenting their mission and commenting on the footage shown. Wide-angle lens were corrected on internal and astronaut camera views. Because most scene transitions used blending, angle correction needed to be gradual. While a bit odd, this allows for a smoother experience than a sudden jump between fields of view.

What a marvelous success of a mission-WFC-3 still going strong, allowing Hubble to keep up with its successor JWST with its visible light observations. As much as I’m aware of Hubble’s recent mechanical troubles, I’m always glad the Atlantis crew performed brilliantly in upgrading it, and now we get to see the mission 15 years later, as if it were new again. Well done, Retro Space

Without the Shuttle program the HST wouldʼve been useless. It makes me sad to know that its days are counted now. 😢

Supposed to be on orbit serviceable. "Lets put hundreds of tiny screws that they'll need to undo while in space suites to service it" - Engineers
They do the same thing to car mechanics too.

I loved NASA and the space program with all my little heart going back to Mercury. Shuttle absolutely destroyed everything about NASA (and a lot of USA) in my mind. They murdered 14 brave American astronauts. There's no other way to look at it. Everything about Shuttle is pure sadness to me now in spite of the good the program did accomplish. I take zero pride in shuttle. To me, this was the end of American mythology. To be replaced by the real America, avarice, hubris, callous disregard, hate, bloodlust, racism and murderous intent. Look at where we are now. Rant over. Sorry man.
