A classic 90's action movie that still holds up and that doesn't need a sequel, remake or reboot of any kind IMO.

This one is a classic in my books! i saw this when i was 11 years old in theaters and it rocked, i have it on blu but i wish Scream Factory would do a Collector's Edition blu with new 4K restoration and extras even deleted scenes and all.
One of my fave sci-fi movies

They do not try with music in movies anymore. I can’t so much as hum a current superhero theme.

I didn't mind Rob Schneider in this one. I also liked him in Knock Off

Dennis Leary well-performed in this film from my point of view. I liked him in 'Operation Dumbo Drop' and 'The Judgement Day'.

21:27 I think Rodman did, haha. I swear it was mentioned in recent Michael Jordan documentary. 47:04 that's true. I wish Sly & this director would've collaborated again (I don't why this guy didn't direct again), but I thought he development a very eye opening future. Sly could've done another sci-fi film with this director. 1:02:33 lol yes don't really care for Taco Bell much either. Agreed, don't need a Demo Man 2. They've told the story and doesn't call for a sequel. It's way too late and Sly can't do it anymore. Great job with commentary!

Sly said yes...but take that with a grain of salt. He's said a lot of things that never happened.

Interesting commentary. Although I'm not sure I can agree that this was ahead of it's time in the ways you suggest, as much of the futurist stuff appears to be somewhat mocking of the ultra politically correct 80's. I do agree that all the PC nonsense is crazy nowadays, but honestly, it was waaaay worse back in the 80's and 90's. Although there was perhaps more push-back against it back then, especially in movies and TV shows. But the main reason people believe it's worse now is because the internet magnifies it.
Also, when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's, it was only so-called "right wing" conservatives complaining about everything and trying to cancel everything. Whereas now the so-called "left" have been fooled into complaining and trying to cancel stuff too. So now everyone is fcuked. Both the "left" and "right" are part of the same problem. Tribalistic Politics ruins everything: movies, music, comedy, economics, education, culture, philosophy, spirituality, and even mainstream "science" (much of which is pseudo-science).

Sorry but no...it was not worse in the 80s and 90s... I lived through those years as well. It's way worse now.

We may look back on certain things with rose-tinted glasses, but while the trends have changed, there are many things out today that wouldn't have been allowed back in the 80's and 90's. Especially in regards to comedy. Back then there were really tame shows like Married with Children that got thousands of complaints. Nowadays that show wouldn't even be on the radar.
Note: I'm British. Born and raised in England. So perhaps it's different in America. But over here, much of the stuff on TV now wouldn't have gotten a pass back in the 80's and 90's.

It's the opposite here in the US. Back then we had shows like Beavis and Butthead, the racy music videos of MTV, comedians like Andrew Dice Clay, and more...And as for movies? Movies that were littered with tough dialogue (48 Hours), lots of nudity (throw a rock at a slasher film or an 80s action movie) and more.
