- Meredith Grey is scrubbing out. 'Grey's Anatomy' said goodbye to longtime star Ellen Pompeo, and her beloved character, in her last episode as a series regular on the winter premiere. The doctors at Grey Sloan planned a surprise send-off on Meredith's last day at the hospital, as they toast her before she begins her new life in Boston. Fans got emotional about Meredith's farewell to Seattle. One tweeted, 'I'm not ready to let you go, Meredith Grey.'

Christina's departure to Switzerland was more "emotional" and touching than this....but i guess that's bc Meredith's exit isn't actually permanent???

They specified it's her final episode as a SERIES REGULAR not final episode overall and at the end they added the clip at the end of her saying she would be back so watch the whole video before you comment

If Meredith Grey is gone, why do we have to still listen to her voice going into the show? I would rather hear somebody else by now. I’m a little bit sick of her . it’s time for her to go and I will not miss her a lot. She was great, but no big deal. There’s a few other people I wish would leave. Newer people can make the show go on and on and on and they will be fine in the show can be there without Meredith so I wish everybody luck and she will still be making appearances every once in a while and she makes way way way too much money anyway, give the new people a chance. I didn’t even watch this series until it was over because I wanted to see it so that I could rewind if I needed to, but I have now watched it on CZcams or Netflix I mean over and over again and it’s great but I still don’t really believe Meredith is the ultimate person of the show. I’m sorry but I think there’s so many other characters and actors that is such a great job, it could be done without her for another 10 years.
