  • A look at all 27 Retro Table in Zaccaria Pinball on Steam along with my thoughts and commentary.
I thought it would be rather silly to have a separate video for each one of these tables since they are pretty simplistic, so I thought a single video touching on all the tables would be the better route. Especially since most people are going to own very few of these tables, or all of them.

Your table name call outs are 100 times better than the ones used in the game!

I tried this game on switch the other day, if I ever want to get any extra tables for this game, I'm definitely nabbing this bundle. Very decent price for the amount of tables you get, and I love the retro style. I've never played any retro pinball tables from the 40's and 50's and some of these look quite fun.

I've been playing Zaccaria virtual pins for decades (as well as the real ones!) and
I love all their tables and the amount of cusomization they offer.
In particular I like the "older retro "style tables and have the top scores on many (xbstoller)
I hated Mexico due to the huge flipper gap but now it's one of my Favorites. Supersonic is also one of my favs.

I think these are a lot more fun to be seen as quick thrills only one step above the pinball tables that didn't have flippers than as games to test your skill.

I honestly liked it when you did videos for the separate tables and I kind of wish you did that with these. Can you think about doing that and the same thing with the award Tables? Thanks.

The simplistic and vintage charm of older electromechanical machines always draws me in, yeah maybe there's no fancy pop culture aspect and sound effects, but the simple layout and the sounds of bell and whirring makes it really relaxing for me. Imho.

Have each and every single table. Absolutely love Zaccaria. I'm just missing one, and that's the one you get rewarded for the campaign. Still have NO idea what the hell the table is because I've seen no videos on it and nothing so far that pops up in any Google search.

They've recently added another table category called Deluxe. So far they've released four on Steam, the most recent one was released just last month. They play really well. I own every Zaccaria Pinball table, except the one that you earn by completing the Campaign, which I haven't done (obviously).

@@CrowContinuum We're even. :) I'm in contact with a member of the Magic Pixel team via Steam as well. He's notified me of upcoming changes in the Zaccaria Pinball menu system, and sneak peaks at new music and the like. He always swears me to secrecy, which I've never violated. I wonder if we're in contact with the same person. Ask him if he's familiar with MarkMSH. I'm curious if it's the same guy. He even invited me to audition for the voice of a table, but I didn't get it.

I hated these tables at first (and I still shudder at some of the more nudge-heavy ones), but they have really grown on me, and I kinda like them a lot now, especially the ones which mostly require you to stay at your toes to fling the ball back upwards again or other minor things, like with Robot (IIRC), Devil Riders etc. Soccer Kings has a skill moment with the Drain shot thingie in the bottom left that adds some extra spice though, but holy crap does the ball not go my way sometimes x.x
Ooh, I kinda like Clown Retro, the three bumpers in the low middle at the same time acts both as the saver of seemingly lost balls, and an exercise in when and when not to nudge when in the process of trying to get said seemingly lost balls back. I still forget the placement of the flippers though and sometimes forget to hit a ball that comes for a flipper, and on this table Ive noticed it usually is a really bad thing, because that will set the ball off in non-favorable directions >_< As someone with ADHD I find this table to be a good exercise in keeping up attention, it is simple enough that you could almost meditate at the same time, but as said, you need to keep on your toes if you want to score, heh.
The only thing that really hinders me from being a properly, consistently good pinball player (IMO) is the ADHD, I get overwhelmed, do the wrong thing, or especially problematic is that I tend to lose focus very very quickly, like instantly unless I actively focus on something, and in a game where the biggest dangers usually come from rapid rebounds etc, thats a pretty bad trait >_

Hey Crow - thanks for the great overview! I've really been digging the Zaccaria pinball app on my switch and these retro tables. A review on Steam by dreamlandscapes mentioned that many of these tables borrow layouts from 50s Gottlieb woodrails. Was curious if you had noticed this. He also mentioned that the playfield layouts are the same - but the rules are different and behavior of certain objects (like dead bumpers) are different. Here's some of the tables he mentioned lifting playfield layouts:
    Pinball Champ Retro (Green Pastures)
Shooting the Rapids Retro (Wishing Well)
    Hot Wheels Retro (Diamond Lill)
Space Shuttle Retro and Combat Retro (World Champ)
    Earth Wind Fire Retro (Quintette)
Soccer Kings Retro (WMS 1954 Big Ben)
    Star God Retro (Dragonette)
    Magic Castle Retro (Lady Luck)
    Clown Retro (Hawaiian Beauty)
    Universe Retro (World Fair)

Space Shuttle is the table for free in the base game on the Xbox version. There is a higher limit on a monthly table for SS, EM, and re-make. All 27 are in the retro for $1.99 on the Xbox.

Just purchased today all 27 retro tables for £1.69 which works out at little over 6p per table 😀 Looking forward to playing them all at least twice to get my money's worth 😂and is there a list of each tables high score for me to try and beat?

    • @docsavage4921
      @docsavage4921 Před 4 lety

      That's a really good price.
I only just learned this thing existed, after already spending upwards of 80 dollars on an FX 3 "sale".
You go in expecting to spend 4-5 bucks on what you want, but that's where they get you. Why spend 4 for three tables, when you can spend 10 for a 20 table bundle?
But that other table you wanted, it's in with another bundle. And now you're 10 bucks off from a 5 dollar discount, so may as well get that too. And can't forget the "super accurate physics" Williams tables, must have one of those.
I'm normally very frugal on purchases, but I admit this time they got me, and got me good.

I've played quite a few of these tables, via Switch. Enjoyed some, didn't alter 3-ball mode, I figure you might get lucky on ball-3, so less balls drained, don't like draining 4 ball then getting lucky! Overall, I'm happy to play this type of table, Definitely Like overall package. My 3/5 assessment might be based on Gottlieb's Big Shot, yeah, get the scores in 3-Ball mode, the player has has enough control to do this, if you really want five balls I guess the drain/plunge disrupts my my play, and resets bonuses so three can be preferable to 5. Agreed I enjoyed Shooting the Rapids Rapids. I disagree, I got some big scores on this, I enjoyed it.

@@blindsportslover I got the "platinum pack" on Steam while it was on sale. somewhere from $50-$60 and I got every table in the game. There's no gold, silver or bronze memberships I can find on Steam so all I can suggest is to check how many tables you get for the money in those packs. The "membership" phrase almost makes it sound like a subscription, which would be odd if that's the case

This was the first set I bought for Zaccaria. Still haven't bought the main tables. I have bought a set of remakes though. Too broke to buying ALL the tables right now. There's some Retro tables I like, some I don't. I prefer the more basic ones. The ones with tons of weird flipper placements, or backwards flippers, I don't care for.
Still waiting for the big update to show up on Xbox though. Wondering if it's still coming to be honest.

Fxxk the so-called near-cinema 16:9 display aspect ratio,
which makes playing pinball games a pain
    unless you rotate your monitor.
