SoHyang (소향) - Full Supported Range (F3-C#6-F6)

- Though her consistent support range is still an impressive G3/G#3-C#6-D6/Eb6, her full (sung) supported range has been demonstrated to span from F3 to E6/F6.

If for some reason some of you wanted a video sooner, I'm very sorry but as I've said countless times before, my laptop is garbage and making just a 5 minute video is a long, mentally and physically tiring and draining process
Just to be clear I do not like this video
May I ask why?
@@user-wk6om4dz4p I don't like the Eb6 and E6 I used, and I think I should've showed lower both in HV and MV.
@@MariosPOS Well C6 is just fine for mixed voice, she undoubtedly supports that high. Her C#6 is actually very short, so I don't know if we can count it. But as for the head voice better examples could have been used. She has one really nice supported E6 from early in her career, I am pretty sure you know it (she drops the support though while sustaining) and some phrased supported Eb6s here and there. To be honest, I was never really fan of her F6s. She has much more tension than support (even though some is present) up there. Nonetheless I really enjoy your videos and I hope you make more in the future if you want.
@@user-wk6om4dz4p Her C#6s are short because they are part of an intentional run. She hits C#6 on the trill of the run. But they are counted because despite being short in duration, they are part of a run and they were performed consistently.
I assume you mean the Eb6s from when she was coming down from her F#6, right?
I think the support on the F6s is very small though not less than the strain at first, but because as she sustains them its lost completely I don't fully disagree with discounting them.
Thank you for liking my videos
3 full octaves of support!!
(I believe she improved her head voice more though)

That F3 has so much tone and weight in it! Sohyang definetely has the potential to extend her support much lower than G#3. Her belts are so magnificent that I haven't enough prasing words to describe it. Her head voice is out of this world. One of the best female vocalist ever.
I think that’s great for a lyric soprano tbh

Sohyang head voice Beautiful 👸🏽😘
Sohyang learnt a perfect technique on her own and there are still singers who can afford the best vocal coaching are young and still have a horrible technique
PS:excellent video
She had a training sir..
I mean, not being mean. She is amazing but she really had a vocal coach
I think it is Seth Riggs.. Not sure.. But pls don't take this as a bash comment. I am a fan but i don't really like putting "shade on other singers". I know so hyang is good but don't let our minds get big. And also I think singing is not all about being super technically good. It is also being marketable and entertaining, and so i don't think, personally, that the others are doing bad.. Just saying..
Sweet Chocolate she had like 2 lessons with him. She’s like 95% self taught.
even if she's mostly self taught, that's still no reason to put other singers down, that's just more of a reason to be amazed by her skills
The first A5 in Head Voice is angelical

EXCELLENT VIDEO. (I’m gonna buy you a laptop..)
Dhsjfjjs thank you love 😌
I saw in another video that the F6 is supported with a « narrow » vibrato, could you tell me what is the difference with a normal vibrato? 😅😭😂
Vibrato in contemporary singing usually covers about half a semitone. Narrow vibrato i supose would mean less than 1/4th of a semitone.
In classical singing most of the time vibrato is either 1 or 2 semitones wide. SoHyang has shown all 3 (and even more) "types" of vibrato.
Maybe the person who said that meant that it's tense ? Idk
@Tortelini it isn't stellar, but since it clearly carries support, the tension isn't really a prominent issue. Also, no, her consistent support ends at E6. Not D6/Eb6.
7 supported E6s are more than enough.
@Tortelini you've said that stuff before and I responded. This E6 is fully supported lmao. It's resonant. Her E6s from before 2003 (like 3 of them (?)) are unsupported, and then she has 6-7 more after 2002 which are supported. She is consistent with E6. End of story.
@Tortelini hahahahahahahahah let me guess, you're one of those that's like 'aLl sOuNd iS rEsOnAnT' and 'MiXeD vOiCe dOeSnT eXiSt' lmaoo

I love your video ! please make more haha....I am impressed with the low notes part ....
Well what do you think about her recent performance in 2019, I've seen that she plays with low note & middle belt more as compared to the upper belt like the previous years... Well I miss her upper belt and I hope I can see that one in 2019😭
what is your opinion that as her age increase year by year, will she be able to hit and support as low as D3 ( It's Only My World) or C3?
what is your opinion about her misterious high Eb7 ?
😍
Nah I don't think she'll be able to support D3 unless she trains her lower chest more. Whether she hits upper belts depends on the songs she chooses to sing.
She said she can reach Eb7 but I don't think we'll ever hear it
@@MariosPOS yeahhh ...Eb7....😭😭😭 I hope I can ear it...wish the previous year they record Sohyang hit Eb7 and upload it in here

What's this thing with excellent singers from newer generation has with wide ass full supported range? Sohyang has this, Bey has C3-F#5-Eb6, Vanessa has D3-C6, Natalie has C#3-B5-C#6/D6 like?? Even Jojo has C3-F5-C6 if I'm not wrong lol. I only know Mariah from older generation who has it as well with D3-G5-D6 but her consistent supported range is far smaller than them.
A few incorrect things there in your comment hyung, Bey's Eb6 is definitely right on the edge, but if we're talking about full support range then ig you can consider it idk 🤷🏻.
Natalie's B5 isnt supported and neither are her D6s. Im not 100% but i hear no support on those notes. Do you wanna discuss it ?
When has Jojo supported a C3 or a C6 ?? I'll need to check those out.
Mariah has never supported a D6 though lol.
Marios POS Jojo has supported a C3
Marios POS yes Jojo has supported C3 & C6 before(you can check em on MrSkinnyJeanz's video about her) & yes Bey's Eb6 is definitely included as part of her FSR.
Natalie's B5 is definitely supported & resonant, it doesn't sound constricted & thin at all. It's just slightly pushy & lose some of the output due to it being higher than her tessitura. As for D6, I understand your reason, hence why I typed C#6/D6.
Mariah has never supported D6? I thought she had one/a few in live? Or was it dubbed/lipsynced?
@@resurgingflame Natalie's B5 has many similar qualities to her clearly unsupported C6. It's thin and pushy. Now, the larynx isnt high as clearly as on the C6 and the constriction isnt as severe, but you can hear the larynx shoot up for that note. There is *definitely* no resonance on that B5, but I'd say support is debatable. Though I still don't hear any. Compared to her Bb5, its noticeably waaay less comfortable and unlike it, it's not open or well controlled.
Nah I've never heard Mariah support past C6 in head voice
Marios POS keep on being delusional smh ‘Natalie’s B5 isn’t supported’ czcams.com/video/o5jwso-FZvY/video.html
IMO:
C#6s are either way too brief or just sharp C6s.
Her lower range below G#3 sounds somewhat muffled to me but oh well.
E6 and especially the F6 were a lil shrill and pushy, especially the end of that sustained F6 was strained.
I'm not going to argue about the rest, but she has 6 C#6's that are all part of an intentional run/trill that she always does on that note. That's why that note is always labeled as C6-C#6 by SoHyang channels like "the heavenly diva" who made the original compilations. Because it's a run with C6 and C#6 being the 2 main notes. The peak in some of them is slightly flat, but not even close to being flat enough to just be considered a "sharp C6".
Camden himself made a video about this and then after I commented he made another video saying he was wrong because he literally measured the wrong part of the run in the spectrogram.
See I don’t even know what you’re referring to be support here because those last head voice notes aren’t grounded or ringing either. Very thin
I explained in another comment that I don't like this video because of the last notes
