I got the CD right when it came out. They played shows but only a few in major cities like NYC, San fran.. If they played philly or NJ, i so woulda been there. This was around the time I saw fantomas open for tool, and two tomahawk shows like a week after their first album came out. Good times.
Oh yeah. I saw peeping tom twice. Once in Atlantic city NJ opening for gnarls Barkley and once like 2 months later, a headlining gig in amsterdam.
Got the CD when it came out, was lucky enough to see them in Toronto on the very short tour they did in support of the album.
@@anthonyfargo420 Got to see them on the Lovage tour in Toronto. Saw one of Fantomas first shows at Knitting Factory in NYC. Tomahawk once open for Tool. Peeping Tom (didn't really care for that project) in Brooklyn. Faith No More in 92 and 98 and a bunch of Bungle shows between 92 and 2000.
I edited this and mixed the audio. Good to finally see it on youtube world 4 years later lol.

i bought lovage the day it came out as a 21 year old lad from a small town in england... sitting here at the age of 42, half my life later, well travelled, well experienced, and with love and loss under my belt, i can say from the deepest part of my self that it is still the greatest hour of music i have ever heard. it's pretty emotional sitting here finally watching it performed live if i'm honest. my full gratitude to the uploader

I had the privilege to see Lovage on this tour in Seattle at the now defunct I-Spy. It was a tiny, 400 person venue and it was the perfect setting for such an intimate show. Everything about Lovage live was perfect. Everyone in character, Patton and Charles vocals, Kid Koala's cuts, Automator overlooking and orchestrating it all. Kudos to whomever got this on video. Great quality for something from 2002. If you couldn't be there, this gives you a pretty good idea of what the show was like. I never found Charles that attractive until I saw this show, she SOLD the audio sex that was Lovage. This was a Top 5 concert of all time for me and I've been to hundreds of shows.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting a very shy & reclusive Mike Patten after a Melvins/Faith No More show in Davenport, Iowa way back in the earlier 90's. It was one of the most memorable celebrity meetings of my life. Thanks for sharing this. I dig it.
Lucky lady!! I'm so glad you pointed out the shy Mike..ppl often take it as arrogance or disinterest but he sees and watches everything. I first met the adrenalin pumped MP on the Epic tour..we all drove around the city, it was a quiet Tuesday night. I just turned 15 and lied to get tickets lol..and was foreign to the country too. Jim& I kept in touch over the yrs many hours of ph calls from San Fran, he offered me a job with FNM to organize official Fan club while recording AD. Next time was 3yrs later, Jim called my mom to contact me, I was then temp living/working in Melbourne, Australia. We went out a cpl times. Then JM called on the car ph when they were all on their way to "work" as he joked..promos, tv tapings..(that Easy taping on yt MP smoking!?) Later went to a Japanese Wagyu steakhouse (literally no salad just a massive slab of meat to choose and eat, mostly raw Jim) went caught up with the guys at the hotel. This MP was the sexy short hair "porno" look lol. Quiet at first but super relaxed, joking with the other guys who were really animated and loud laughing at the most ridiculous sh*t. I was having a drink from the hotel bar with JM..Mike totally sprung me intently watching him adjust himself putting on a hoodie jacket, looked up and gave me a cheeky smile with a lift of his eyebrows.. next the guys said we're going to the park. So we all walked about a quarter mile..less, to a gorgeous old park beside the hotel, well kept with 500 yr old trees, we talked joked looked for, fed the possums, I didn't I was just looking up at the amazing bright stars from Australia's angle. Mike came over to me bc I was just super shy, just 18yr old p/t model.. newly signed moving to full time A&R and PA... and it's a night I'll never forget. Forever stamped into my heart. Once you lock eyes with MP... yeah. I say no more of the next catch ups around the world.✌🏼
Never spoken on this or about all the very famous ppl I've met. But of all..literally all rock stars, pop stars..all stars. Mike Patton is the best.

Honestly I feel grategul we haven't gotten a Lovage followup. The Deltron and Dr. Octagon Follow-ups were so meh and watered-down. Lovage is this legendary little singular piece that sounds like nothing. I'd prefer it stay that way.
What we really need is a new Automator project! Something just as creative and boundary-pushing! I know Dan's got it in him.
I was in attendance for the House of Blues Chicago show. It was magnificent.
Drove from Pittsburgh to NYC to see this show at the Bowery Ballroom. Well worth it and one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
Many sincere thanks for this, a dream realized to hear them live. So badass.

Awesome upload. I caught them in Detroit (Ferndale actually), at the Magic Bag. Capacity is like 350-400 tops. Needless to saw it was a top notch show. Hadn't heard the record before i went and was pleasantly surprised how chill and mellow it was compared to Bungle/Fantomas/Tomahawk projects that i had seen around the same time.

I grabbed the vinyl 2LP.
Forgot about it 4 years.
Heard it was going for over $200.
I opened it and played it, while I was making lovage.
I kept having to stop and flip lp over....F@#king perfect.

Such an underated masterpiece. I could only last watching 20 seconds of the 2015 MTV fiasco awards. I am 20 years old and I have been disgusted by "what is hip" for the past 6 years. I can't imagine what it will be in the near future. I pray that real music gains its rightful place as it did throughout time.

My dream is to hunt down this album on vinyl. Believe it or not, there were prints, albeit fewer than the CD's. Even if I were 13 when this performance occurred, if I managed to finally see FNM, Bungle, and Tomahawk in my 20's...I can hold out hope Patton gets bored enough to revive Lovage just once more.
I didn't imagine getting to see Team Sleep, but I magically pulled it off, too.

i believe its been simply put on the "backburner" per se.
i would love a new lovage album but i think when mr patton finds perfection he leaves it as is, rather than attempt to re-create it and possibly tarnish it.
